Wow! I’m from Parker, my mom came across this. And you showed my Grandma’s grave Betty Romo w/ the ball of yarn. ❤️ Thank you for this and sorry for your lost.

My dad's cremains' were to be scattered but some of the grandkids were having a hard time with it so I purchased some tiny urns from Amazon to put some of the ashes in and gave the urns to them. That made them feel better. If your mom's ashes haven't been scattered yet, you could get a small urn or urns for family and maybe have a place for them in the future or even placed with you. I think my dad would be happy to know that he is being held close by his family. Thanks for the pleasant walk.

My former boyfriend passed away in October and that’s what his kids did with tiny urns. I was given one also because they knew how much we loved each other. Now he will go with me and my pets when I die. 💜 my condolences on your father’s passing.

Of all the cemeteries we have journeyed through with you, Steve, the Parker final rest struck me as the starkest and loneliest. Without upkeep, in decades the desert winds could cover it completely.

    • @brianreardon159

I sort of like the idea of the desert claiming us back. However, in the meantime may you and yours stay safe and well.

We all do what our loved ones want us to do at the end. Sometimes when I see the cemetery's and all the people buried there and I wonder if anyone ever comes to visit the people there. It's kind of peaceful to know your loved is where they wanted to be. You can always visit them in your heart. Stay safe and take care.

You are such a good son Steve. You are honoring your mom a lot by scattering her like she wanted. I, like you, have such a love of cemeteries, yet I will be scattered too. Parker has a true desert cemetery, not a blade of grass anywhere, but very peaceful looking. Thank you for taking us there. I know it is a tough week for you. I am praying God wrap his arms around you, and he gives you strength through your happy memories of your mom. Hugs....

But , Steve, your Mom will be remembered by all of us who have been following your channel. And of course by all her family and friends. . About 32 yrs ago , I was living in the Smokey Mountains and worked as a photographer in an old time portraits studio. Sometimes I would walk up behind our little mall to the cemetery on the hill behind us and have my lunch. I would sit on a low wall and it was so very peaceful to be surrounded by trees, flowers and all those graves . I really felt as if some of those people were glad for the company......even though they were no longer "there", I could FEEL spirits around me....One day I went looking for persimmons in the fall. So I went up past a little church to the cemetery. It was beautiful up there. In the fall and the colors were magnificent, gold, red, yellow of every shade of the trees down in the valley below, and I could see for miles. I saw an old headstone that was Rambo.I don't remember any dates, but there sure we're a lot of women who died young and babies with no names. And, no I did not find any persimmons. Lol. Peace and Love ✌️💕

My Mom wanted the same. No grave, no headstone. Just on the beach in Spring Lake, NJ. When she was a child and teen Spring Lake was all people of Irish descent. That's why she wanted her ashes there. Her church service was in Spring Lake as well. Before all of this, I'd never been to Spring Lake.

You have such way speaking about your mom . I know exactly the sentiment behind the thoughts of your love and admiration for your mom and your entire family. Arizona is beautiful,. I have extended family there. Never been, but it's on my bucket list. You this is Derby weekend her in Kentucky and love this a event. But it wasn't in my thoughts all weekend. Till a relative called to ask me if I went to the derby watch party that family was having. I had unexpected guest my brother and was all about family. The greatest subject on earth. You stay safe young man you always compliment any occasion. Rest in peace mom.

Hi Steve. Just tonight I found your clip for the first time ever. My family used to live in Vidal Junction, on the CA side of the river. I was just a little girl, 6 yrs old. My mother had given birth to a baby boy who did not survive. He is buried in the old section of the cemetery. He is near the main road into the cemetery, to the right. He has a brown teddy bear sitting atop his grave. His name is, David Arthur Jackson. I don't get out that way anymore as Im now living in Missouri but I think of him often. If you visit there again, try to find him. Tell him his sister thinks of him often and still misses him. He was born in 1957.
The fragrance you are smelling is the flowers of the oleanders that grow nearby. They smell so sweet but are very toxic and poisonous if ingested.
Thank you for sharing your visit to this very historical cemetery. Back in my day there were many graves of local Indians. Their graves were often beautifully decorated with ornate bows and arrows and carefully encircled with carefully and lovingly placed stones. I loved visiting.
My sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved mother. May she RIP. 💙🙏

Really relaxing and serene video to watch. Nothing like roaming around in an out of the way cemetery. I really liked the section with no grass. The many beautiful crosses were very unusual for me to see. I'm so used to just headstones. I found and visited the gravesite of my great grandfather in Pecos, Texas and that area is somewhat like where you were with a desert feel. Not much grass but the cemetery (Fairfield) actually has water spigots every so often near the graves for watering grass on the graves. Many homes had no grass but the cemetery was pretty green. An unusual site to me not being from a desert area. Also saw tumbleweeds rolling by!

You honored her wishes and that’s part of taking good care of her. So now if she didn’t expressly forbid any marker you all can create one. Most cemeteries have single plots at discount they sell and it can remain empty with just a headstone or marker for family and friends to visit. Your videos are great and I appreciate getting to see whatever you shoot.

Thanks for going there, Steve, my parents retired to a house they had across the river in the community of Big River, until my dad passed away in 1995 and I was just about to graduate from California State University, Fresno, then my mother lived there for a few years until she sold it. I lived out for a couple years after college until I could find a job and career I really wanted.
I have never went there at all but I am glad you did the video anyway. One cemetery suggestion I would like to let you know about is the Mt. View/Highland Cemetery here in San Bernardino as it has a few famous graves there one is the Mausoleum of Randy Rhodes, who is regarded as one of the best guitarist in Rock N’ Roll Music of the early 1980’s and it is easy to find as there is a circular driveway with a grass island in the middle of it and his grave would be on the right of the circular driveway going around the island. Also laid to rest there is Randy’s mother who got him into playing instruments starting at 6 years old from the music store she owned in Santa Monica. Randy died in a plane crash as he was riding in a plane that members of Ozzy Osborne’s band where one had a pilot’s license and while in Florida they took a plane from a nearby airfield for a joyride and when it crashed Randy was killed in the crash in 1982 at 26 years old.
Another historical figure is James Earp who is the oldest son of Nicholas Earp and oldest brother to Virgil, Wyatt, and Morgan Earp. I learned from a Hollywood Graveyard video series on TH-cam that Nicholas Earp is at the LA National Cemetery and is a veteran of the Mexican American war. One more is a Swede Savage who was a NASCAR race car driver and was killed in a car wreck in the early 1970’s.
I have been informed at a community meeting there is a tour at the cemetery but it is a pioneer type tour, so they may not go to those famous graves at all. The streets where the cemetery is at is Waterman Avenue and Highland Avenue in San Bernardino
I do live not far from that cemetery up around the intersection of 40th Street and Waterman, if you want me to go with you there, let me know to contact you for that.

Great video good man, really enjoyed your conversation about your mom and the small town cemetery.
