Elmo don’t be disappointed with those negative comments, they are jealous as they can’t create a content as good as u. As a viewer I can feel your intentions to share good food and heritage is genuine, so just be yourself and continue your effort, which will be appreciated by all the supporters.

@@malaysiafood328 excellent work and the effort you've been putting in your work is exemplary. I value and appreciate the historical background you incorporate as it becomes informative. That becomes crucial and endearing to understand your food documentary; and also, for us to go/seek these food stalls before they become extinct. Keep on feeding us, as you feed yourself first, haha. Kudos. TQ

Hi Elmo, Im a big fan of your channel. I like because you are honest, you are not afraid sharing the negative feedback by subscribers (eg: already thumbs up before swallowing the food. Hahah). The Cantonese wording you use is funny & I like it. I respect the time and effort you put into research, and educate us on a particular area first, then only proceeding to the food. I am from KL and PJ, I have learnt so much from you. Keep the show going. Yes, you cant satisfy everyone, but we are all enjoying watching your channel.

Again thank you Elmo for a great episode on Pudu's Wai Saek Kai food stalls. The illustration made in the beginning is very applicable and you have said it as it is. I agree. Already- it has been very NOBLE of you to make this series and in turn, you are also helping out those food sellers ( I believed mostly would have a negative impact during these Covid 19 times on their businesses) to advertise and also to be made known to those who have not tried the food at those stalls / restaurants. I particularly gets a bit of "Deja Vu" viewing your videos and always have a pang of hunger after seeing all those nice, hot and delicious food illustrations. Thank you Elmo and continue to do these good videos. Also do remember to Stay Safe and Stay Healthy too !!!.

Fantastic video which brings back a lot of memories to me. Sek Yuen was my favourite dim sum breakfast place when I was a boy. There are many food stalls that I enjoyed around the area. My late father used to take me to an old ‘Shanghai sifu’ dentist on the 2nd floor along Wai Sek Kai. The herbal tea was also one nostalgic place for me as my dad used to force me to drink. The more bitter the better he used to say. Pudu jail was a terror as my parents never failed to scare me every time we drove past the main gate - “do bad things and you will end up here”. It was legendary where the notorious Botak Chin was incarcerated. Now it’s a mall?
BTW at 0:56 you mentioned someone in Cantonese which translates to an “online pal” but the subtitle was a ‘jerk’. I wondered if you did that on purpose. 😂
Thank you Elmo for the history lesson as well. Until today, I never understand why that place was called “half jungle” but now I know. As a teenager, my friends and I used to go downtown and say go to ‘half jungle’ or ‘Lok Boh’. Anyway, congratulations to another great video and hope this will spur you on. Thanks!

Uncle Elmo. You missed the 2 tong sui tim beside the Wai sek Kai. Also there’s a great fishball noodle shop beside the corner herbal tea stall that opens in the morning.

I went on a solo trip and stayed at the Pudu hotel few years back. I was walking the street at 1am and felt the place safe. Really missed the place.

your shows are great because it is also educational, well researched and has great human & heritage face to it. damn the detractors. you are a one man show and your episodes are marvelous; comparable to those made by professional companies. for those attention-seeking and malicious bad mouthers, I bet you are incapable of producing any quality outputs and probably low achievers in life

Pudu was a very notorious neighbourhood in the past. I agreed that hygiene wise it is not up to modern standards but the food and the culture represents old KL heritage which alot has been lost and destroyed due to modernisation.

Hi Elmo, Thanks for the many video! Tested some of foodies, they're great and fit to my taste palette. As I personally think flavor sometimes very subjective and heavily drives from local neighborhood taste! I also enjoy the history of it as well! Haha!
Do you think is there any good fried oyster(oyster omellete), and penang loh bak in PJ/KL?
More importantly, stay safe out there!

    Elmo mate,
I'm popping over early next year to enjoy as much food as I can in eight days. I tried to get into Malaysia with the same intention earlier this year but for 'some reason' the border people said no. I've got three nights in KL and five nights in Penang.
I figure for KL I have to try some Klang buk kut the, maybe a session in Petaling St, and definitely a session or two down at ICC/Padu. I also suppose I will also have to find a good Ramly Burger but maybe that is best left to late at night after a few beers
I have little idea so far about Penang other than I have to get some assam laksa and spend time in a few seriously hipster coffee shops.
Any chance of you putting a couple of TH-cams together with my needs in mind?
    Yours in gluttony
    Dr Mark
