It would be interesting, if you would test the break down voltage between the windings before teardown of the transformer. For example with some simple hvdc converter an resistor in series to see at which voltage the varnish fails. Perhaps they are using a thicker varnish on the windings, and it works. The main danger comes, when the winding is hot anyway.

It is only the third episode, not the fourth... In the second episode, you reviewed exactly the same charger as the second one in this episode, but in black version!
A few years back I purchased a super cheap charger from ebay for the purpose of dissection. I was hoping to learn a bit about creating a discreet flyback converter since most of the chinese power supplys don't contain any dedicated SMPS ICs. Much to my surprise, it wasn't even a flyback converter. It was an f'ing buck converter. A BUCK CONVERTER. Absolutely no isolation from the mains. Even worse, if the crappy BJT fails shorted (which most do), the full mains voltage will appear on the USB port. Beyond dangerous.
A very good video. But where does the usb tester get it's power? When it is connected and shows around 5 V and 0.000 amps, does it in fact load the USB even if it shows 0.000 A?
It does load it a bit, but probably before the current sensing shunt. And the current is below 10mA, because when I plug it into my other usb tester, it still shows 0.00A
