It would be interesting, if you would test the break down voltage between the windings before teardown of the transformer. For example with some simple hvdc converter an resistor in series
to see at which voltage the varnish fails. Perhaps they are using a thicker varnish on the windings, and it works. The main danger comes, when the winding is hot anyway.

A few years back I purchased a super cheap charger from ebay for the purpose of dissection. I was hoping to learn a bit about creating a discreet flyback converter since most of the chinese power supplys don't contain any dedicated SMPS ICs. Much to my surprise, it wasn't even a flyback converter. It was an f'ing buck converter. A BUCK CONVERTER. Absolutely no isolation from the mains. Even worse, if the crappy BJT fails shorted (which most do), the full mains voltage will appear on the USB port. Beyond dangerous.

There is a voltage difference between the primary and the auxiliary windings.
It is either about 300 volts DC or the output of the switching transistor.
This should be isolated if not the transformer will let out its smoke if the insulation breaks down.
The insulation to the secondary will melt and create a shock hazard.
Better to isolate all 3 windings from each other.

so finally, i have a question - request actually - can you give me a circuit diagram for a safe 5v =2A phone charger where i can apply to 220v or 12v input.
your help must be useful for me.. Thank you.

So... since you done video when you showed how to wind transformer properly after showing how it was done poorly. Maybye after all those dogy chargers would you make video when you design your own USB charger ?
PS. Just suggestion for topic for video.

Does 2A mean 1Ax2? Like you can draw one amp on each input seperately simultaneously?

No, the ports are just in parallel. The maximum total current is the same as the maximum current of just one port.

Please make a video of the voltage regulator next it's looking really interesting, is it a ferroresonant one?

Right now I'm making a video with oscilloscope measurements in it. Then I will draw and explain the schematic ;).

@@DiodeGoneWild thanks, Dan!. Im interested in this topology. By the way, i have made my own DIY welding inverter based on your schematic. Everythings works well. But i have some problem. The main transformer is noisy when standby. But when i put electrode at the output, those noisy become silent instantly. Where the problem?. Is that because of feedback resistor between output and IC so that become regulated?

Does anybody know what compliance marking can be seen at 2:50? The three crystals/spearheads/leaves in a thin "C".
Edit: found it, it's UkrSEPRO for Ukraine.

The higher voltage near the charger can also be due to the inherent cable drop compensation featyre built in to the smps ic now a days.
