    Thanks for the excellent analysis. Sounds like the SX is as noisy as the Gen 4 CX. I have a Gen 3 CX and it is quiet compared to my buddy's Gen 4. Who wants to ride accompanied by 'angry bees'?

    Seems like the fast tire combination and lightweight build is what allowed the SX to pull ahead of the F60s.

    Having test ridden an SX motor myself, I hated the high cadence to unlock the power, as you said it feels unnatural. I’ve heard that changing to a smaller chain ring can fix this. Theres also less low end grunt. I’m now considering the Ep801 RS v2 with the option to unlock full fat power. Or just go full fat on an SL build.

      High cadence requirement on a mountain bike to get good power output is a terrible idea.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. Since I start/stop at the same spots on the trail, I believe that's a GPS error. GPS polls every few seconds to determine where it is on the bike computer is on the map. So the exact point the GPS records the location can vary at the start stop.
      The good news is the stopwatch, which is the key measure is more exact and not affected by the GPS.

    I see the Trek exe was tested at 70 rpm. The slowest cadence in the test. The TQ also needs to spin to get more power. Id like to see a retest at 90 rpm.

      I'll definitely add this to our existing shootouts with the Nebo and Relay.
      The Rocky Mountain ebikes, I haven't used in a while. They seem really rare here in the West Coast. That huge, proprietary (but powerful) motor really locks them in to a niche.
