The chapters really help understand just how much we are getting to see here, before watching through it all. I might not have watched if not for the chapters, thank you! so many amazing birds
I geared up at the grandmas name. That’s FATE. My heart is so full ❤️❤️❤️ thank you to everyone, especially those who donated. I was emotional the whole stream since my own grandfather who passed was a HUGE bald eagle fan and raptor conservation supporter. He would have been so so SO proud of you all 🥺❤️
Trueee If you go to any Bird of Prey rescue they have birds with every conservation story you could imagine. Soooo much to talk about with birds of prey
i saw the harpy eagle in the thumbnail, my freaking favorite animal and bird ever since i'm like a foetus I HAD TO CLICK AND WATCH Am so jealous, just seeing it irl i'd be dying of happiness and YOU ARE HOLDING ONE ??? °0° so jealous (in a good way) if i was able to see them with binoculars in the wild even if they would be far, i'd also be very happy x)
I missed the stream cause I was knocked out cold cos my timezone is so whack, so now I'm finishing this entire vod. EDIT: This stream was so cute and wholesome and Kayla crying and everything. W stream. W Maya/Alveus oilers!!!
What a great stream! I was really doubtful that it'd get anywhere near the stated shortfall of 15k for the project at the beginning of the stream.. But.. Dang, ya'll hit it. That's insane. Love to see it
Thank you so much for this stream! Its truly amazing being able to see these beautiful creatures and see their care/training. I aspire to work in a facility like this one day so it’s truly inspiring to see the work the World Bird sanctuary does. So thank you Maya and team for getting the opportunity to show this to us 💕
Was lucky and lived by the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. for a few years, fantastic program there, tour includes getting very close to really impressive birds.
Absolutely amazing stream!! Loved watching this. Thanks for adding so many chapters as well. It helped me with going back to find which bird they're talking about when they reference it later in the stream!!
okay holy crap i never expected you to go here! I live an hour away from here and got to visit almost 10 years ago now!! I fell IN LOVE with Bogart and im so happy to see him there still i literally gasped. It was such a cool experience going here and i think about it a lot. The people here are really nice and care so much about animals. I got to talk to and pet Bogart, spit an owl ear fact, pet an armadillo, have a falcon fly over us AND (idk if this is a thing still) but we got to see Elk and got close to the female herd. (unintentionally they literally came around the corner lol my mom stepped in front of us and shouted no and the alpha female was like ight damn bye lol) If any of you read this and visit Missouri please stop by here
i love that place!!! one of the vultures kept following me around (well, tried to from the enclosure) i dont remeber his name but his name i think started with a g
"he has some favorite trainers here who are able to get a sample and we will leave it at that" oh my gaaawd I wonder if the trainers ever envisioned THAT while planning their career in animal husbandry lol Also I absolutely love Crows. This was an awesome stream to watch
in my small town when you drive into it theres this tree that the wood comes off and its white its the vulture tree and i love them theyre good for the planet
i have been there, the birds are so beautiful. Although...nothing scares you to death more than a bison charging cars because someone was not thinking and honked their car horn.
Wait... Did that macaw understand ethics? He had a choice between a crow buck and a treat, and knew he had to pay for the treat by putting the money in the box, and didn't go for the treat because he hadn't paid yet. That's an insanely high level of intelligence right there, way beyond what I thought even macaws had. These past few years have really opened my eyes. Just 5 years ago, I was convinced the human kind of intelligence was unique to us, but after seeing parrots with ethics, spiders dreaming and herrons teaching their young which best bait to use for tool-based fishing, I've had to completely re-evaluate my view on intelligence.
A harpy eagle is about 15 times less dense than a deer. Since they can "only" carry about a third of their weight, that means a deer hunting harpy eagle would have to be about 45 times the size of the deer.
Long before I knew about biomagnification, I despised rodenticides because it just doesn't work. There's absolutely no point in using it, because rodents are really smart animals. They might fall for it once or twice, but they don't all go to the same place and eat the same things at once. One brave member will check the new thing out, and if that member dies, the rest of the family stays away from that thing. I tried warning the office I worked at about this, but they didn't listen and put out rat traps. The result? Rats in the walls because they no longer liked the outside, where the poison was!
Bald eagles sound so cool. I don't understand why Hollywood felt it necessary to replace their sounds with red-tailed hawks. The hawks sound cool too, but it just doesn't fit the magestic chonk that is the eagle.
my grandma is a biologist and naturalist and she said that using the humane mouse traps is actually more cruel because releasing the mice in other places that aren’t their home is dangerous for them and they will just starve or die slowly or something…
this one has a lot of chapters, lmk if its too much and i can change it 😸👍
It's fine
It's all good :)
I wanted to know all the bird names so I love it!

my grandma is a biologist and naturalist and she said that using the humane mouse traps is actually more cruel because releasing the mice in other places that aren’t their home is dangerous for them and they will just starve or die slowly or something…
So the traps aren't dangerous but uneducated releases are!
how did i miss this 🥲
