These classes are getting better and better. I have been following along with the Bible with sources revealed by Richard Elliot Friedman, and wow, it's just fascinating ,interesting, and informative to follow along with Ross. Thank you for the work you guys put into these classes.

I seriously doubt that Sarah would leave Isaac behind when she traveled to Hebron and this before the offering of Issac. Kid's most always go with the Mother when there is a marital break down.

I think Sarah said, "Oy Vey! YOU DID WHAT!?!" after Abraham returned with Isaac and told her about how he almost sacrificed Isaac. I think that this is when Sarah leaves Abraham in Beersheba (where he "planted trees" intending to stay for a while) and moves to Hebron taking Isaac with her. There Sarah dies and Abraham has to travel to Hebron in order to bury her.

Sarah probably wasn't going to risk G-d "speaking" to Abraham again (i.e. "hath G-d said")...

But, according to the texts, Abraham didn’t return with Isaac. Genesis 22:5, 19.
