Jarid and Shannon reacted to this clip and they confirmed it was written in 3/4 time, not 6/8. Chad knows his stuff, he's been drumming since he was 10yrs old or so.
@@jasonknotts5001 Indeed, 3/4 and 6/8 are the same. I love the arguments over 'it's in 3'. 3/4, 6/8, 12/16, even 3/8 (which I've never seen) is valid. It all boils down to 3. What surprises me is the number of 'drummer' reactions that don't understand (except the church drummers) that with 'it's in 3', that is all he needs to know to find the '1'. Time signatures are mutable. Frank Zappa would have charted it in 4/4 with triplets and called it a day.
Please talk about more technical stuff about the drums for these reactions! People come to these types of videos for new/additional input so more of what you think as a drummer or even explaining things for laypeople like me would help a lot.
I love this new type of content! I just watched the one where the Megadeth drummer plays Mr Brightside the other day and I was hoping someone would react to it cause I wanted to see it from a drummers perspective. Overall, great video. Please keep branching out and trying new content like this. 🤘 1:19 - I have to point out the Taylor Hawkins shirt 10:10 - This was great
I can't remember WHICH episodes of this I've watched specifically, but at least 1 or 2 of them included a little bit where the drummer went: "Know it... Know it... Know it... Know it..." ❤
Chad is simply amazing and you can see the influence Neil had on his playing career. Don't think Neil did, just go watch his tribute to Neil after his passing that Chad did for him. I too am a life long drummer and though I like Dana, Neil's precise ability to to not only arrange the songs with more time signature changes than one can count but to also be the primary lyricist for the songs as well takes him out of this atmosphere above all others.
I saw this video of Chad and 2 days later I bought an acoustic kit. I now also have a ekit. I knew drums would be difficult to learn but I underestimated how much time it would take to at least be a decent drummer. For the most part I'm having fun tho. I just noticed his right foot. I never noticed how shaky (if that's a good way of describing it) is.
Good idea to react to these kinds of content, made me discover your channel 😂 you did good, keep doing these too.. and angling for a pop sponsorship.. very crafty 😎🤣🤣
Yea you’re definitely not a smarter drummer than Chad smith. Thats 3/8. Jared and Shannon reacted to this video and once he said “ oh it’s in 3” they were like yep.
Apparently you aren’t that good a drummer cause a guy FAR beyond your level called it 3…. Absolutely NAILED it and you are “it’s 6/8” “drummers can just feel it’s 6/8” 😂😂😂😂 try drumming for once not just making noise.
Sorry but I couldn't get past your arrogance. You're not smarter about drums and song structure than Chad freaking Smith. The band confirmed he was right. You get a thumbs down for this one.
Work on actually reacting instead of just watching it otherwise it is completely stealing content. What you could do is tell everyone to open up a tab with the original video and mute it and let it play out and that way it works out for everyone
There's a fine line between too much talking and not enough talking. Sure he could of maybe broke down the thought process of a drummer on some parts a little more but I'd rather watch a reaction that talks less than someone who pauses every 2 seconds to tell their whole life's story and missing out on certain parts.
@dgoldberger7878 I have done it I just had to use different songs as I now have heard this song. I d8d make videos, and I tried to post them, but they didn't really get watched so I took them down.
@@CalebCarterFilm Every drummer i know can pull this off. The structure is the "usual" so it's not that hard to pull off. If someone does first take on some crazier Dream theater song i'll be impressed, this is not that impressive despite being fairly entertaining. It's kinda like hearing song off of radio and playing it back, impressive for lay man but for anyone who's even slightly learned in harmony it's pretty self explanatory.
@kookoo9235 That's my point, it's the fact that he's Chad smith that people are going nuts about it. There's all these channels reaction to it with fake reactions, it's not actually that hard.
There is so much wisdom, experience and class ozzing out of Chad. He still got the drive and power to turn any song into something great.

It’s def in 12/16ths
I'm not a drummer but as a part time musician it would seem to be in 3/4 or 6/8 depending on the count...but I may not know what I'm talking about lol
Thank you @ralatar1. And even when you say it, people still insist they know better 🙄
3/4=6/8... it's the same

"BREAK ME DOWN!" - The Stick
I thought it was 3/4 for a second too as im unfamiliar but its just triplets. Hes so insane!❤
It is in 3. Jared and Shannon confirmed it.

I love that outro where he's playing the 2 over the 3. Absolutely bonkers.

As a drummer who doesn't have the sack to start a channel, I think you did a good job.

Chad plays “frenetic” with a lot of energy throughout his body. It’s his signature style, most drummers aren’t as bouncy

Chad being a total Chad
The band confirmed it is 3/4
Do we really need a confirmation on this? It's just in 3 and that's all
Do more of these first time hearing ones bro. Should see Mike portnoy play nickel back 😂😂
That's a good video. There's another channel that I watch called 66Samus. He reacted to 3 videos with Mike Portnoy in one video.
Jared and Shannon said it was in three in their reaction video so I’d probably go with that lol
I'm no drummer but the only real real difference I hear is the kick.
720p, is this 2009?
react to Gregg bissonette on drumeo, he's the top tier drumer.
So u know better than him. That's why ur burping making review videos.
Yea you’re definitely not a smarter drummer than Chad smith. Thats 3/8. Jared and Shannon reacted to this video and once he said “ oh it’s in 3” they were like yep.
❤👌👋👋👋🇵🇹🥰
I love these themes❤
I would like you to put subtitles in Spanish, if it's not too much trouble.
YOU'RE correcting Chad Smith that it's not in 3?
Jared and his brother did a reaction video to this and they all said yes it was in 3😊
Apparently you aren’t that good a drummer cause a guy FAR beyond your level called it 3…. Absolutely NAILED it and you are “it’s 6/8” “drummers can just feel it’s 6/8” 😂😂😂😂 try drumming for once not just making noise.

He was literally reacting to it ur just yapping

Could not disagree more. Literally have no idea what you’re talking about.
Of course it is in 6/8 - you‘re a drummer? How can you not differentiate between 4/4 and 6/8? Poor reaction :(
I don't think this is actually that hard. Send me a song, I'll make a video and send it back I'm not joking..
Did you do it? Video or didn’t happen
