I went through a period of following skindred around the country. I watched them play to 14 people, to doing the newport helicopter with 50,000 other nutcases at download Festival, and everywhere in between. They played to 14 people just the same as 50k. They are an exemplary of what any live band should be. Love you guys forever and always! Ragga punk power!
I became a fan when I heard Nobody at a house party in 2006. (Although I knew about them years before, also being a Newportian). I recall seeing them in TJ's in 2008, again 2 years later in 2010 and another occasion in 2021 or 2 in the Tramshed in Cardiff. The fans are nuts, just like the music and that's fine by me!.
@@demonhalo67My mate knew one of the producers of the original album. He had a copy of that and the original BfmV EP which I ended up with. I remember the 2012 Download performance, they got people to take off their hoodies or shirts and swing em around. I didn't want to take my shirt off and had a backpack. The neighbouring crowd participants were not impressed 😂
Benji is my daughters cousin Met him about 1 year ago. After about 10 years and 2 concerts Jordan went to. When (their) great grandma passed away. NAN NAN. It has always been a pleasure to be part of this family. Benji is down to earth. Thanks for being such an awesome person. Also part of a truly modern family. I am awestrck to see this video today.
I got to knew Skindred thanks to that game, lol. It was the first metal song that I really liked growing up. I don't like every one of their song, but they are one of the few bands that I always check if there are any new albums.
They are definitely gaining traction and on the cusp of blowing up big. There is no one else out there like them and the youngsters coming on to the scene are hip and will dig this sh1t.
The best artists never seem to get the recognition they should be getting. I didn't realise they'd hit the mainstream but I'm happy to see it, well done Skindred, you deserve the success! ❤
Takes time for bands to catch on now. There is so many out there there is no publicity until you can make it on to a festival circuit as a support. Until then, it's all word of mouth and small shows until you can get enough fans to upgrade to bigger venues that advertise.
Enter Shikari got #1 and sold way more units than Skindred. Where is there BBC talk? Oh wait, they won't because of the beliefs the band have. I like skindred but they didn't anything close to what ES did I think skindred came in at around 645 units. (chum change)
It is amusing that people have only just started hearing about Skindred when they've been active for 21 years and have 8 albums behind them. They are incredibly unique and deserve all the praise they receive. They're brilliant to see live, too.
@@TheBoltonFam Me and my Mrs met Benji back in 2010 when they played The Agincourt, Camberley. He was just hanging around outside, chatting to fans, getting pictures taken. He was so down to Earth and friendly. Top guy and a top band.
Saw Skindred for the first time at download 2014 after listening to them for a year or so beforehand … seen them another 9 times since and loved every damn show! They are amazing
Saw these guys back in 2017 and countless years previously! Recently went to Download and they were fantastic as always! For sure they deserve the success, and they have always had consistant love from they're fans, and I'm so glad more people are exsperiencing them! Because they are just pure entertainment ❤
I've been a fan of these guys since i heard nobody back when it was released! Good to see them getting recognition for all the hard work they have put in over the years.
Seen them so many times, they’ve been a mainstay in the rock and metal community for so long and it’s amazing to see them finally getting wider recognition. Watching this video I was literally thinking “are they going to talk about the Newport helicopter”? Having partaken in many of these myself I can confirm it’s awesome 😂
Love this band. A relatively recent convert, seen them quite often over the last few years at Bloodstock, Download and Kiss and loving the album. A great non-nostalgia metal band. Love them.
I'm happy for them. I remember when they broke out with that particular song...they toured my home country and went out to see them! Had no clue they got another wave coming from TikTok! good for them
I've known about Skindred since the guitar hero days but my first time seeing them live was supporting KISS on their "end of the road" tour and they're ace live, the banter with the crowd, Newport helicopter, not surprised they are getting known now with social media
I've enjoyed seeing the band live twice and it was lovely to see them being on BBC breakfast talking about themselves and how big they've become through the years! 😍
I hope they play at Download 2024, they have really grown on me. I'm 39 and an OG Slipknot fan but, I'm loving Skindred lately. Gutted I was at camp at Download 2023 this year my Army injury came back with my knee after carrying all that equipment from the car. But I heard them from my tent. Wont happen again, I'll be there next time.
First time seeing Skindred at download 2019, and the helicopter was absolutely brilliant! What a buzz 😁 they turned out to be one of my best bands of the weekend 👌🤘
Skindred's album Union Black is one of the best crossover albums ever. Finally, finally the deserved attention for this band and Benji. Please also check out his Dub War albums. Stunning. Their live shows are just the best.
Seen them live a few times over the years, always on festival bills - always bring the party and get the crowd energised .... and then 3 times on this year's Kiss tour, with The Wild Things too.
I met Benji in a club one night and told him I liked Skindred and he looked at me like I was a piece of sh*t and just walked away without saying a word.
Skindred are awesome (not biased just because I am welsh) its great to see them get some appropriate publicity as they have been solidly fantastic for a long time.
was a dub war fan back in the day, then skindred emerged! i'm going to see them in october for my 18th time, i'm now wondering if the place is going to be packed full with new followers! hope they all enjoy it as much as i know i will :)

Not going to lie, didn't have that on my 2023 bingo card. Good on them though, in an age of "fake it to make it" - they've earned their success by sheer determination and authenticity
Presenters talking like Skidred have been playing to empty rooms for 20 years... they have been getting huge crowds at festival main stages up and moving the whole time.
I remember seeing yuu live in Birmingham and the mic was playing yup and we all chimed in was really good as I was at front aswell, the new album is A*
What counts as real music? Or do you just mean something that you like? This is a nu metal band, nu metal was popular a couple decades ago but only certain bands got attention like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Korn, Disturbed, System of A Down, Papa Roach, Drowning Pool and some others. Skindred was in the same genre but not as popular. So it's not like nu metal hasn't received mainstream attention. It's like going to thrash metal and we see the big four like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax got mainstream attention while a band like Hirax didn't. This is just a thing that happens not because less popular is bad, they may be better but popularity helps. Some extreme bands even got attention like Cannibal Corpse and Napalm Death but I don't expect most extreme metal to get attention as it's mainly underground music and I don't need something to be mainstream to like it. I don't need every person listening to the same things as me. This band is just nu metal so it's not something extreme or hard to get into.

Well said, dude.
"morning, morning, morning, morning" 😂😂
I used to skate to their music back in 2005, the memories. Glad this came across my feed
Absolutely man. I used to skate on my blades listening to these guys. Gives you so much pump and adrenaline!
About time they get recognised I’ve loved them for 10 years seen them 3 times cracking lads and they deserve more recognition

Honestly they live under a guilded rock.
I absolutely love how friendly and down to earth they are. This is so heartwarming to watch
