Threw together a quick vid of helpful tips from the folks who passed the Nijisanji audition.

This is just all the information I thought was helpful, while trimming off as much time as possible.

One very important factor that a lot of people tend to forget is that, above all else HAVE EXPERIENCE. Its not just all about having the best PC and liking games. As mentioned, at the end of the day this is an entertainment industry, so better be ready to prove that you can entertain thousands of people for hours.
I love the difference between the member's auditions. Some are long and passionate, some are serious and meticulous, and then you have selen and her 30 minute dunk on everyone who spent time filling their forms
For anyone considering applying and wondering what sort of things you need to prepare, you can go to the application form in their post and put in random info for each questions to get to the last page, so you can see all questionnaires. Just make sure not to accidentally click send.
Imagine putting fake answers of a fake but interesting yet unpractised persona , accidentally clicking "send" and then actually getting in.

A very big factor of passing the audition is if you are a previous content creator. All of the current EN were prior content creators. Content creators are prioritize while everyone else is put at the bottom of the priority.
1st they will look at is the application, not the video. If you are a content creator your at priority if not, you'll be at the bottom.
Because the amount of content creators applying to Nijisanji is so many, it is next to impossible for you to get it if you do not have prior experience because they basically stop viewing the rest of the application ones they get the people that they need(yes, it was already proven that a VAST MAJORITY of videos weren't viewed and were left at 0/1 view)
In the auditions of the JP Dai senpais, Nijisanji wasn't famous then so they accepted people without previous experience. Though, after a certain point(around mid-late 2019) 90% of who were accepted were prior content creators.
If you really want to get accepted, you can actually cram it. Make a YT/Twitch/etc. account prior to March 30 and make content/livestream with it to be classified as a content creator. You'll be at the bottom of the list cause you literally have no numbers but you have more chances than the ones who are literally just applying like throwing a rock at the sky thinking it will hit the target.
Hey even if you don't get accepted just continue being a content creator and you'll have a better chance when they do the auditions again late 2022.

(I sometimes do overlook the fact that while talents who never had experiences before do exist in JP it seems to be a different case with EN. (and many of those who lack experience are like super og vtubers who debuted back when vtubers weren’t really a thing).)

Fulgur made a really good point about audition which I feel like people who want to apply should know about.
It is very important to clearly state your fortes (good at gaming, commentary, chatting etc) while showing off your personality at the same time. However, if you’ve never streamed before, you wouldn’t know what it is you’re good at (you might think you’re good at certain something but when it comes to the real thing that might not be the case)
Also, if you have previous streaming experience, they can check out your vods and can determine whether you’re really good at what you claim to be or not. Whereas if you don’t have anything to back up your statement then it’s just something you could totally be making up.
Still, you shouldn’t be discouraged from applying despite having zero experience. It doesn’t cost money anyway, so why not go for it? If the first time doesn’t work out go for it again and again as long as you still want to be a vtuber. In the mean time, try streaming or doing something related to the entertainment industry (think of this as like a resume, it’s better to have sth rather than a blank paper right?)

I’m not applying because I don’t have time, and I’m just not old enough. Although, I wish everyone applying good luck!! Don’t think negatively of yourself and stay positive!! You’re gonna get in don’t worry! If you don’t there’s much more opportunities and paths to go in life, so don’t stress it. Thank you so much for making this as well, I know for sure it helped a lot of people who are applying!

Alot of people actually telling they aren't old enough. I just became old enough January of this year but don't have the resources and personally for streaming. 😅

As a somewhat old niji jp fan seeing people feeling discouraged for not having proper equipment/setup, I low-key wish we got someone eccentric with their potato pc in en like the old nijisanji spirit, like how mito used to stream from her washing machine or how a certain cat still stream in 240p. I mean last time I heard, petra streams from her laptop no?
It could even be them sharing a power point with the character with different expressions, switching accordingly and still making it entertaining
the reason you don't see it often is mainly due to it being more expensive for Nijisanji to supply that stuff.

As for Petra streaming from a potato, couldn't say! I haven't heard anytihng about that myself but it could be true!

Ooo thanks for putting the useful clips about the Niji EN Audition tips. I recently just finished building my gaming/streaming PC and since I mostly have nothing to do besides watching Vtubers and/or just searching a job, I was thinking to try out the Audition which I will prepare near the end of March. I am quite very nervous, especially that I would be shy to talk to others, but I do entertain my cousins and some friends whenever I play party games with them and I do have some interesting skills that I like to do. Gonna definitely give it a try and will support Niji EN regardless if I get accepted or not. :)

I’m someone who maybe wants to consider applying when I’m older, as right now I’m just diving into content creating recently! I’ll never forget when I was a small editor and artist and picked up a small following. It made me happy I made others feel happy with my content, I sadly lost that following. But im hoping to learn more about content creation and apply to a group like this one day ! Good luck too all!!

This was helpful. I don't have a good set up ngl. If anything it's pretty crap but I'm still gonna give it a go despite it. I wanna see if I have the chops. If I don't this time around, I'll do better the next time they open for auditions

I'm actually planning to send an audition tape ... but I'm not sure if my gaming laptop (I have no PC) can handle all the games and software needed for streaming.
Yeah, I have the same issue but I would still submit and try anyways!
I read somewhere that if you get in, Nijisanji will help you with setup (vtuber, streaming, etc.) and you can build your setup slowly. Few vtubers here don't have the best setups and experience some stream issues too.

It's all good advice. But since Im still in high school, guess I'll wait until the time is right
being a vtuber for nijisanji is an entire job. you have to know what you are going to do, you have to know exactly what you are doing and have all the right things. as one vtuber said it's a big money drop [for the equipment] but with a huge profit as well. but just keep in mind it takes time. you have to have EVERYTHING, down to the smallest detail about your avatar, setup, and online persona known to you. it's not a fun thing like "oh teehee i'm going to be a vtuber bc i jus wanna play games and whatever" like 😐 hate to crush ur dreams sweetie i just genuinely don't think you can go into this knowing nothing and thinking of it as a really easy job to get and do. in some aspects yes it IS an extremely easy job because you are getting money for streaming while playing games but you have to work for the money. you have to be funny or cute or handsome as that vtuber said you have to have something that is going to make people watch you bc they're not going to watch a random vtuber mald for a few minutes at a time and then really mainly say nothing yk like a lot of "male gamers (bigots)" and also as i said it's a whole job you are streaming for HOURS each day and you can't just stop for days at a time because you're bored (you can take day long breaks but yk) and there's so so SO much going on behind the screen. anyways just my take on this because i have been considering being a vtuber in the very far future if i have enough money to drop on it & i know for sure that's what i wanna do because like once u start u can't just quit yk it's really a big commitment. so yeah itd just be a life changing kind of thing cause streaming would become my day to day life and sometimes i'm like oooo hehehehe money money from playing games 😻😻🤭 & then i'm like 😣 entertaining people for long periods of time 😔 but then other days i'm like no 👿 i'm going to graduate college and go work in japan like i planned but WHATEVER IM FUCKING RAMBLING IM TIPSY AND ITS 4 AM

best thing you can do rn is practice streaming and take a ton of notes from your own and other people's streams!

Sad how i can't apply cause i'm underaged and i have alot of time to stream and stuff but i'm underaged, GOODLUCK TO THE PEOPLE WHO APPLY!!
Since I first became interested in in vtubers I've always wanted to become one but my biggest fear about it is the fact that I'm trans. I can force my voice lower to sound more male but it's kind of straining to do so, so I dont usually do that. Hearing finana say to go for it even is I'm trans, even if it's a simple statement it means a lot.

they all say to find what makes you unique, but its really hard, does anyone have tips for that? lol

the consensus seems to be that you wanna find something that very few people other than yourself can offer.
To use Selen as an example, they're really good at FPS and also a great entertainer! That particular mix is quite hard to come by so it would have made them quite desirable.
So like Hana said, pick a genre (whether it be a gaming genre, art genre etc), get really good at it and you'll have an easier time getting through to the interview stage.
It also helps if you have some proof of ability. A lot of the big livers either had a pre-existing viewerbase or were trained in a field like voice acting/stage performing.

Honest question here, if lets say your application is really good but you have 0 experience and 0 social media, just how slim are your chances? Is there a bit of hope? In my case, im pretty used to talking to a screen while playing a game because i used to always do discord streams for groups of my friends with only me talking, obviously that doenst count as an experience and there is no particular link i could share for that either. I know its probably a different case to have to entertain thousands at a time but at the same time i am pretty confident in my ability to speak freely and crack jokes in front of an audience. The problem is i have 0 of the accounts they ask link for. Is there any chance to get in if i give it my all in the audition video but have zero of the proof of experience or big follower numbers?
I'd say not that much different. Many nijis came from zero. Just from the current boys alone you can tell which one has streaming experience and which are still struggling with obs. While on the jp side, they got someone who cant even grasp the difference between a PC and a laptop before debuting
you can still apply (if you want) even if your chances are near 0%

@@_DT_ issue is that i ahve an ideea for the audition. Mostly, im an illustrator and i can animate edit etc. +use live2d so i was thinking of fully making the assets niji vtubers have in their streams by myself for my own character(i already finished my own live2d model). Problem is this stuff takes A LOT of time as you can imagine, so idk if to go forward with it or just give up if i have no chance, cause again, its a lot of work

Preferably a desktop pc that wont burn itself if you run the latest AAA games while running a steaming app in the background.
I have the age but i dont have the experience in streaming, plus i only have a gaming laptop, nothing else 😭 most of all my family said it themselves that having a 'stable' job is better than streaming 🙃. Guess i will wait till i live alone to audition 😂
Your family is technically right though. Streaming shouldn’t be your main source of income especially if you’re a newcomer. It is extremely unpredictable and unreliable. It’s generally advised to always have a plan b when you decide to become a streamer/vtuber. About the setup, dw about that really. Noraneko from jp used to stream from a crappy computer that couldn’t even handle her live2d 🤣 you can always upgrade it once you get paid.

I agree with the first comment, relying solely in streaming is gonna be quite hard so it's best if you have some sort of income other than streaming but you can always try starting of streaming as a hobby till then so that you can gain experience. @@khunbammm5534 hmm I wouldn’t say it is bad bc I’m sure there have been vtubers with no streaming experience before. However those who do might have an advantage over those who dont in audition. Since you’re not joining right now maybe try streaming once in a while (regular streaming or just pngtuber should be fine) to get the idea of it and also could add to your portfolio.

im curiouse my laptop cant handle streaming with a model,could i still apply? i wanted to but even if i got the part my laptop wouldn't allow me to stream stuff at that level,i would need a desktop pc😔😔do they provide material
They only provide you your model and a phone but that’s it
