Located west of Mt Baw Baw, in Victoria's Great Dividing Range, lies the Toorongo Plateau. Historically a great example of the magnificent Ash forests that characterise the region, the Plateau has been subject to frequent bushfire, being burnt in 1926, 1932 and 1939. Ash-type eucalypts typically take 15 - 25 years to produce viable seed and the plateau's fire history resulted in extensive areas being unable to regrow ash forest. This 2021 film examines work in recent years that has now seen the successful return of forest to the area. It also examines briefly, the science underpinning the project.

great video .it s so sad to see australian forests cant recover from fire. we have turkish pines in our forests. they r extremely resistant to drought but when they burn they can recover in 20 years
