    If you don’t ask, you’ll never get! Salary negotiation is both an art and science, and if you’re well prepared you will increase your chances for success. All the best!

    IMO, its better just leave your previous company once you have been offered better deal from other company unless what they counter offers "substantially" more than your current benefits. Negotiating without any offers from other companies in my book is a no go, you can try, but most of the time , the employer will not entertain!

    oh perfect timing for this video.
    I got a few offers from other companies and I was thinking of using the higher offered salary as a point during negotiation.

    If you don't show your boss your offer from another company, how do you tell him that you have a higher offer? If your boss values you highly, he would counteroffer to keep you no?

      U can show ur boss. Just don’t be cocky n all. Cz it can get rather sensitive.

    Thank you sir for the video. Currently applying for another company. Always getting stuck on the "expected salary" HR can't really understand what I'm talking about due to technicalities of problem that I'm solving in my current company, so they don't appreciate my worth. That is why they can't see to it that they pay me for my asking price.

    Thanks for this very practical and useful video. Looking at this video, I just realized how lucky I am to be working in the civil service. Every year, my salary will automatically increase in the month of October.

      I'm quite curious, are civil servants allowed to nego salary? Or things are quite fixed

      @@DannyChewwwI am a lecturer. Usually, if you want higher salary just apply for promotion. Management will set the criteria for promotion in advance with feedback from the academic staff association. Once you feel that you have
      fulfilled the criteria, just apply. Promotion application is open 3 to 4 times a year. This is because there's no quota for number of senior lecturer, professor position. Not like in the private sector, where there's only 1 General Manager position.

      @@vineshrajoo2805 Do you think it is a benefit to be in a civil service? as you mentioned, you felt like you were lucky to get increment every October. As in my POV, civil service don't get any bonus as private sector-even if do, not much. Not to mention the amount of increment is not as high as in private sector where you can demand your increment or find another job to fulfill that demand of yours. Mind to share your opinion about this?

    Impractical, market value is the proof. It is based on luck and usually will not last because it can never be justified. That is why wages are stagnant for so many years,.

    • @JdMetal
      @JdMetal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! and it depends on the industries as well. Only negotiate when have other offers in hand...Ive known there's one company will offer flat rm2000, without any increment whatsoever! They told you beforehand....meaning just to let you know if you don't like it, take a hike, they will always find another replacement!

    Hi, not sure if you’re gonna reply this but what if you dont have the leverage of having that offer letter from another company? I feel like its kind of hard to win a negation without a leverage.

    • @MrMoneyTV
      @MrMoneyTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s ok even if u don’t have a leverage of another offer letter. I’d suggest u to have a solid proof of your work performance
