My older brother spent 6 months in lockup and OD'd within 36 hours of getting out. My younger bro is currently fighting 20 years in 3 different counties out in VA. I've never been to prison and joined the Marine Corps instead of getting into crime. I have a lot of survivors guilt from the situation. People like Ian Bick givin me the confidence to share my story. Maybe I'll make a video about it one day.💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 respect to you Sir.

My best friend overdosed after 13 years clean. I found his body when he didn't show up for our weekly NA basketball game. His older brother overdosed in almost the same exact spot and died 1 year and 22 days later than my best friend. The youngest brother who I was close with is doing 25 years in prison for making and trafficking meth across state lines.
I was in the Army and deployed to Iraq twice, one during the surge when we got crazy violent with al-Qaeda in Iraq. Then was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 and two months in had my left foot blown off by an IED. What was the 3rd country you were in? I've got PTSD bad and nothing has worked. I guess you could lump survivors guilt into there as well. Honestly for me civilian life is way harder than being at war. I was scared of dying then though.

      @connorestes9814 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@26michaelukI know this is so random but did even cannabis not help with your PTSD? I‘ve heard from endless people that it‘s like a miracle drug in that situation.
Either way I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service, my Dad was in the Army & on several tours - I didn‘t see that much of him tbh & then my parents divorced. He went back & today lives in the US & I‘m stayed here in Germany. But even if many things didn’t go down like they should‘ve & we didn‘t have any contact for almost a decade, I still am grateful for his sacrifices back in the day to protect our so beautiful country & provide for our family the way he did. So really, I appreciate you dawg & hope to god that you‘re doing alright & things work out for you ❤ praying for you & for you to have a wonderful life cause all of y‘all crazy MF‘ers that put everything on the line & went through unimaginable things to provide for & protect their families are a rare breed nowadays & deserve so much more recognition than what it has come to in this day & age.

I was told 15 business days before I get my cash back. I called customer service and lost my shit. I did get my refund that night but still..... My conviction is 14 years old and nonviolent. I can barely find a rental anymore. It pisses me off. I did my time and parole and probation without a hitch. But I can vote😂

I loved and still love his story and redemption but towards the end when he wants to negotiate his child support amount….that made me lose some respect for him. Those kids and their mothers deserve every single penny - doesn’t matter if they are grown now …I’m positive those women spent much much muchhhh more than 20k on his child support growing up. The least a mother or father that wasn’t there 90% of the kids childhood is pay the support in full, payments are an option esp if as he said…he was doing so well.

I got close people who jumped parole and would rather die than go back, meanwhile they went back after being incarcerated the first time due to carrying a gun as a felon, and for having under a gram of cocaine on em, and despite that breaking the law, upon returning their only job choice besides doing entry level manual labor was selling dope again. I hope the friend I'm speaking of stays out but, considering everything he's likely not gonna or will die before goin back. bein institutionalized is so hard and all he was focused on doing after his first incarceration was setting up his family with a nest egg and a solid home. I hope I'm able to do some good and pushing him to license in the trades he is experienced in makes a difference. it's not as simple as it looks and criminal justice reform starts with banning the privatization of prison and jail and juvie

Ya know, as a child, I was taught by a very old, "scared of her own shadow", old timey, old morals, old notions and visions grandmother (whom I loved more than life itself), along with a mother who had been raised by her and my grandfather, that "prisoners" were monsters. Prisoners were to be feared. Prisoners would NEVER, EVER be ANYTHING other than demons who toted machetes looking for little girls. Hence the reason that I always had a certain fear of prisoners/convicts even after I was I was grown.
Having watched channels like Ians and many others has taught me that there are so, so, SOOOOOOOO MANY good, decent, intelligent, warm, loving, giving, good hearted, nice looking, funny, and personable men who have served time. Everybody makes mistakes - some worse than others. Murder is a "mistake" that is hard to forgive, let alone forget. But, SOMETIMES, it's not done in malice - even though folks are punished for it anyway.
You have to be very careful in making your decision in who is safe and who is not and by NO MEANS AT ALL am I saying ALL RELEASED CONVICTS ARE SAFE. NO WAY!! BUT....I WILL say that ALL the ex cons I've seen on Ian's channel seem like legit decent dudes who've learned a very good lesson and all they want is to live out a normal, good life - including Louis.
Good luck Louis! God bless you!

    *"OD on Benadryl"*
Really glad he didn't try that, would have taken a handful and found out the hard way there's an extremely high chance you won't die, you'll just spend the next 8-16+ hours in an extremely uncomfortable, delirious state. Very realistic, sometimes terrifying hallucinations mixed with extreme confusion from what I've read. Doesn't sound like a fun way to spend over half a day...
Edit- Man, again with the over the counter sleep aids as an end all after the 3rd arrest. If it was just diphenhydramine hcl, he'd have very likely been completely fine. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he didn't do it just because of what it represented but also because he'd have had a horrible experience too. Lot of drugs that people assume taking a full bottle of would be deadly when it's not. There's going to be multiple negative side effects but death probably won't be one of them.

Yeah, me either! I definitely wouldn’t trust him with anything, that’s for sure!
I also don’t think that he will stay out of jail…
I looked him up, and he’s had several recent run-ins with the law, which weren’t mentioned at all.

Did you check his paperwork? I actually have a funny feeling that he is embellishing a lot of his story. Some is true for sure but he is too loquacious about some of these stories. Just strikes me as insincere

1/2 of all these prison stories are bullshit. Amazing that y’all fall for them. Pure entertainment

I dunno. Not 100% sure this was my favourite interview. Starting off with correcting the name you used for him, which was kinda ... ego ridden. There were a lot of demands and such, might have been nice to hear about paying back to his victims; probably I'll take some crap for saying this but having been a taker for many years, he seems to have turned his life around to be a demander; not much different.

I enjoy your pod dude, have watched every episode. Why are you always red? Not poking fun just curious. Also u gotta change your intro. It is cringe af and may turn people away before they can get to the meat of the pod. Good shit though keep grinding bro!!
