I hear you. MKBHD posted a 9 min 56 sec "review" today (1 min 10 sec was about Samsung though) bashing the G8 as "master of none" and product placing the S10E as the "obvious choice" at the end, despite it having a smaller battery, lower screen resolution not to mention headphone performance. Went out of his way to not get into details on what LG did get right.

Innovative and great phones (until they go kaput after 2 years) I will give them that. Knowingly made and sold defective phones which would have otherwise had a longer lifespan, no marketing/advertising, having great features one year and dropping some the next and basically picture LG mobile phone department high on LSD and running around in the forest. They could have been the Korean oneplus

Flossy i got this phone just because of your review and the HAND ID isn't as hard as with your experience. All my attempts on the first try i got it without having to constantly move my hand. Its a really excellent upgrade from my V20

@kokakoliah it's a good phone I mean the LG G8 has every other feature that pretty much every flagship phone has. but I think LG needs to look at what Samsung and OnePlus, Oppo Huawei and some of these other companies are doing and get with the program. Releasing a phone in 2019 with a notch on it is a bad move.

I'm a huge LG and Samsung fan, I had the G2 and loved it until I upgraded to Lollipop. I now have a Galaxy s8 and love it. You can't go wrong with either brand.

When i first heard they were putting a notch on the thing (like every unimaginative OEM last year) I decided to wait for the V40. That had a notch too....and nothing else at all really. I moved on to the V30

I am truly looking forward to finally using this LG G8 Carmine Red 👍 👍🙌. Thankful to The LORD for the gifts I receive in this world. (p.s. I’ve been listening to this Flossy review since 2019). Just picked up a new LG G8 and tried the palm unlock, it works well for me, 9/10 times. I think the key is making 2 handprint records and even tho it says move your hand farther, it actually means move it slightly NSWE, usually north for me because I have no depth perception lol.

I just got this phone yesterday went from the v40 to this phone it's pretty nice and all the air motion features work really well as far as the hand id unlock your hand perfectly straight and at the right angle it takes a little bit of practice but you eventually get it down.

Yay, another Floss unboxing, and White Shoes was working today. Floss' unboxing reviews are more informative than other reviewers full review. This phone, LG G8, is a serious contender and is a major GO. If I were Floss I would have given up on the unlocking using palm. LOL, just saw the Tony Soprano thing at the end... HILARIOUS....LOVED IT.

The LG G4 was a great phone and they had many others - until they randomly stop working after 2 years. That was the only thing stopping me from buying another one of their phones

Started watching this when it uploaded yesterday. But, there was a crisis in the family and I couldn't finish. Anyway, I'm loving the color of this phone. You are a real G. That phone would have been thrown against the dang wall after trying to unlock with my hand. I swear my patience is not that strong!

The sound on the G7 is definitely better
LCD blue light eats the vision (blue light), not like OLED, and makes battery last longer. G8 has newer SnapDragon chipset, bigger battery.

Yes this may be true but just wait 2-3yrs from now, when some other phone company bring this feature to it's phone. Everybody will forget and ignore that LG did it first, just like the finger print sensor on the back, hifi dac, wide angle lens curved display and many other LG features but hey who care about invitation and taking risk ^_^.

This phone is kind of dope. I'm not sure if I want to upgrade for the Galaxg S10e or S10 they feel a little too light for my liking.

Great review! I bought an LG v30. Under appreciated phones for sure. I got mine 2nd hand and the price was so low, hard to believe.
I wish LG would get rid of the ThinQ name. What's wrong with just naming it LG G8?

@@chiaza7735 It can create brand confusion. The ThinQ thing came from no where. I've had people ask me if the ThinQ is some kind of cheaper or different version of the G8 or V40 etc. They think its a variation of a standard G or V series. It's not a big deal but seems unneeded.
Supposed to be LG g8 THINK with the q coming off as a k, but people just said thin q and ran with it

Flossy’ crackin 🤣 up here I felt that tension if that phone was like $30-50 I might have thrown it against the wall but, at that price I’m gonna be patient with it. Floss see if there’s a low high sensitivity setting it seem like you had it in the right spot just moved your hand to soon but your gonna master it you checked out too many tech stuff, you’ll get pretty soon here.

I got this phone from Amazon for $500. I'm loving it. The hand awakening thing is tricky (but still fun), lol. I'm getting more familiar with and much better at it. The hand gestures to control You Tube and music are great when I'm getting ready for work and have product on my hands when I'm doing my wash and go's, lol. Sans the gimmicks, the LG G8 is just as good as every other phone on the market. Heck, maybe even a lil better than most.
