- Ever wanted a sweet Iron Maiden tone on ya Head Rush....well here you are and a little insight into how you build some fine patches.
In this episode we take a punt on the massive Maiden tone on the awesome Head Rush pedalboard. Enjoy y'all.

The Headrush is extremely versatile to make any desired sound, but there is a learning curve with learning how to use this pedalboard. This video is really good to show how to set up the Headrush. Also, there is a clipping meter on the "Out" option that should be checked when making sounds.

The learning curve is like 5 hours do it and you should have it down, as long as you have the knowledge of audio and studio and the uses for this machine then your easy to get along with it.
Sounds amazing. I'd love to hear a John Sykes (WS) tone and some Def Leppard tones from the Hysteria days.

@@PaulGlover oh hey got my gigboard and following along w/ you when you get to the reverb part and you can't dial in exactly 1500 for the color.. you can turn the knob that says push to enter. turning the knob will go one digit at a time.

I just got the HeadRush Prime, awesome video man it's in my rigs now! It's one of the best sounding rigs I've got so far, I may even use it live for our Across the pond set!

Just got my HeadRush gig board and first impressions are it sounds a bit thin but once I got into the settings and dialed down my input volume it really came to life! Be prepared to put some time in with this FX processor! Its super fun and easy to modify but the settings are sensitive so don’t dime out every setting at max or 100% because it will muddy the hell out of your signal. Happy knob turning!!

They used a Distortion + pedal by MXR also in the 70's and early 80's.

The Harmonizer sounds and tracks....no latency...EXTREMELY WELL!!.....SO IMPORTANT!
Over 6 months of trying to, not only find a good Harmonizer demo for the Headrush, this made my choice between the Helix and Headrush.
Having used a Helix HX, I know how good the Smart Harmonizer is.
Now, I'm having to scale down the gear I have to carry around.
Being the only Guitarist in the band, I really needed a great Harmonizer for Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Maiden and.....ughh....Ratt.
I really didn't want to shell out the big bucks for the full blown Helix Floorboard and was considering the Headrush with a 112 FRFR Powered Speaker.
Again, my only concern was the Harmonizer.
THIS JUST SOLD ME ON THE HEADRUSH AND SAVING ME A GOOD $1000 US....by the time I added a good FRFR Speaker.

The Headrush sounds great, and the amp models sound nice and warm almost like a tube amp in my opinion.

As a beginner, I can't tell the difference! I just got one of these pedalboards and it's going to get years of use! Sure beats having a house full of equipment! I would love to see patches for Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, and Stone Sour!

Will be doing man. Just moving into a new studio mate then its all systems go.
Great to tutorial, spot on tone, had a gt100 before and you could spend days and get nowhere the tone.
I also add a sterio doubler in as well, sounds great.

Trigmachine love mine, just got it yesterday and be prepared to really dive into the settings because it sounds like shit out of the box. You have to really spend some time on each rig you design and tweak your ass off. Once I got a nice Mesa rig designed it absolutely rips!! Sounds amazing through my late 90s Mesa 2x12 cab with the Seymour Duncan Powestage 170!!
Lovin my headrush pedalboard, got the frfr112 as well. I like the ability to create my own tone as well as try to duplicate ones for covers. Great job on your video and showing how easy it is to get in there and find your happy place. Keep rockin 🤘

@@PaulGlover Thanks for replying dude 😊 Actually we as customers we have no ideas on the product well and here in India The headrush Ax8 and Helix are not a cheap product..... So we want something that is easy to create tones and not have to worry about tweeking everything from the scratch like the old Line6 Hd500 or Boss Gt10..... headrush to me looks easy to use and create tones...and also to be sure that it feels like playing a real amp or Analogue pedals. .... If that is there then I can buy it with no worries watching your tone review 😊😊😊

I've had my Headrush for a few months now... and you would think that even though I have the actual equipment list for what he used, I still can't seem to build (or find anyone else that has built) an accurate-sounding Headrush patch/rig for KISS' lead guitarist Ace Frehley from the "Alive!" album. I don't know if you're a fan or not, but I'd appreciate you having a go at it?

You should check out Traci Gunnz' " How I HeadRush" video, watch how he sets up his main go to rig. This I believe will get you in the ballpark, just leave off some of effects. But I think one could easily achieve that core tone with his approach. Never thought about it until you mentioned it. But I remember thinking he(Traci Gunnz) had that classic Les Paul/Marshall thing going on. Check it out! Happy Hunting! I look foreward to that challenge myself now.

Hi Paul i did everything exactly as you have mine sounds more than a bit shite perhaps mine is defective is it possible you could post this patch for download .. I cannot get mine right i reset it and tried like 15 times . in fact i notice many of my sounds do not match what others have on you tube (its rather screechy sounding ... for instance mesa boogie has no growl ) i dunno

Unfortunately i dont have the headrush anymore so this series will continue on helix and amps and pedals. 🧟♂️ but as a guideline you can set them up the same and just tweak from there.

Obvious question.... is the amp model section larger, smaller or same as helix? Quality of sounds?
Smaller but right out of the bag sound more "alive" than helix. Helix sounds better with little tweaking. I find line 6 to favour darker/browner sounds. Headrush and kemper seem to have a lot of presence right out the gate. 🧟♂️
Hi got a laney irt 120w full stack and bought the headrush peddle board, have you done a setup to this configuration on vid or could you do one I'm worried about doing this wrong and damaging my equipment, as there's switches on headrush on on laney amp at the back, any help would be grateful ta
Ok buddy if you want headrush amps but laney power amp, (tone, dynamics still work) go out of headrush output into effects return on the back of the IRT head. If you want the laney sitting in the digital world of the head rush youll need to run 4 cable method. Look online for the best ways to do this with a headrush mate. 🧟♂️

Nice video thanx! How did you set the harm to the song's key? I've recreate your rig and I was wondering how to set the harmonizer key... Looks like you cannot.
There was an option in the harm settings. I dont own that pedal board so cant remember dude. If i could do it then it cant be that hard lol 🤟🧟♂️🤟

Make sure that your Headrush Firmware is updated to the newest addition.
Touch or Double Tap the Harmonizer on the Touchscreen.
That SHOULD give you access to the Settings.
Make sure you follow the Headrush Instructions for Backing Up and Updating the pedals Firmware!!

@@keithdarling8290 I have the last update but here it is not used the smart harmonizer. The smart harmonizer always seems to cut dramatically the output. This rig doesn't do that, but I cannot see how to use it and set the song's key

You have tried tapping the screen to access it like you would to change settings on other things?
If you have and can't get to it, there may be a problem in the Firmware.
Have you tried contacting Headrush/Avid/Eleven?

You should be able to get to the settings just like all of the others.....keep me posted.

Oh man I hope you get better soon I appreciate it.. I just have the hardest time making this sound good I have tried 60 reissue Les Paul ... MM jp6 MM jp7 steinberger with the hottest dimarzios .. and a ibanez Jem .. fuck my amp is just a line6 spider jam running on the unprocessed mic port I even tried it pludded directly plugged in to maudio d52 or what ever they are called so absolutely nothing coloring the sound it's flat as my first girlfriends tits .. i dunno
