What Is a Single Status Certificate or Bachelorhood Certificate / CENOMAR, and When Do You Need It?

So today we'll talk about a single status affidavit or a bachelorhood certificate or in some countries is called CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage Record).
What exactly is this document? So basically, if an Indian is getting married to any foreigner in another country, he needs to prove that he is single and to do that, he needs to get an affidavit that says that he's been single, in other words a sworn testimony that he has been single, and he's not been married before.
That document needs to be attested by the notary, by the subdivision Magistrate, and Apostille by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Now, many times the person is not in the country. So in such a case, the parents can issue this document on their child's behalf saying that he/she has been unmarried and that they can legally marry anybody anywhere in the world.
Processing time for this is approximately ten working days and, of course, the time taken by the courier.
