      The Baja Tele is my absolute favorite Telecaster. The pickups and feel of the neck. Everything about the Baja I love.

    What bridge pickup did you use exactly? And where did you find that separate Twisted Tele neck pickup? I've been searching for a while for some dealers that have fender parts (especially pickups) that they sell without the standard neck+bridge combo for these official Fender pickups.
    Thanks and what a nice build!

      Twited tele neck pickups--both the MIJ version from Baja Teles and hand-wound Custom Shop versions depending on how much you want to spend--are all over Ebay and Reverb.

    Great build, ive got a twisted tele pickup in my partscaster also - very sweet 🎸🌟
    Ive been looking for a single CS 51 Nocaster pup for the bridge but can only find full set online. Anyone know where i can get a single 51 nocaster bridge pup anywhere ?

    MIKE FROM NASHVILLE, Is the Twisted Tele pickup has a different type of winding or magnets used for the twisted tele pickup? I'm not sure what is so different in tone about the twisted tele pickups

    You said you got the Body from Guitar Fetish? Was it the XGP or GF Basics? How long did it take you to get?

    Sounds great. Good job and thank you for sharing. There is no "a" in Jason Isbell. I think it's just pronounced with two sylables. "Is" and "bell"

      It’s one of those things where you say something a certain way and don’t realize it. I discovered making TH-cam videos people will always point out if you pronounce something incorrectly. If you lived in Nashville you would hear places and things pronounced all sorts of different ways. Kind of like Louisville Kentucky. You can’t say Louis-Ville, you have to say LuaVell. Actually not sure how I would spell that. Anyway. Thanks for watching.

    Nice video! I agree, 1500 is a lot for a road worn- they were like 900 just a couple years ago. They used to be the lowest priced fender with a nitro finish (which I much prefer to poly), which is why I was always attracted to them... But I agree with you. For the money you could get your own partscaster with an mjt nitro finish. Anyway, love telecasters, enjoyed watching 🙂

      Thanks Alex. I guess maybe prices are just going up. I’m sure the quality of it is amazing. The big difference I see in the USA made is the quality of the wood and parts are top notch. That used to be that price range. Who knows maybe prices are just going up. The good thing about making your own is it’s to your specifications. Anyway. Thanks Alex.

    Where did you get the body and neck? This replica is spot on !

    • @MikeFromNashville
      @MikeFromNashville  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can find this body at GuitarFetish.com or you can pay a little more for a MJT “Mike Jenny” body. You can find them on Reverb as well. As for the neck, I found a rosewood neck on Reverb at a great price. Prices are usually very high but if you keep looking someone will sell a nice MIM neck for around $200. The pickups I purchased from Reverb. The wiring I purchased from a guy who makes 4 way wiring harnesses on EBay. Everything I purchased I made sure it was low price. It think I only paid about $159 for this body. I’ll post some links in my description. Thank you.

    If you bought all the parts from actual Fender brand stuff, you’d pay more. They just recently officially started selling necks and bodies separately and they are outrageously expensive vs the really good licensed replacement stuff from the likes of Warmoth and Musikraft or the comparable/decent stuff from Allparts and WD, or MM. You can certainly build something as good or better, but if you buy Fender brand stuff, you’ll pay through the ears for stuff that’s not all that great IMO.

      @CBGypsy03 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya I picked up an MJT body and musikraft neck here in Canada for a smoking deal. Looks like a custom shop for a quarter of the price and plays so damn good. Fender will gouge you !!!

      Thanks Matt. It was a bummer not to see him tour after the last album “Reunions”. I think he just started getting things going again now that things seem to be getting better. They are my favorite band to see live. Sadler Vaden is such a great guitar player as well.

      I took delivery of the Isbell Tele yesterday, It's a beautiful guitar, the relic finish is lovely and the pickups are great. Doesn't bother me one jot that it is made in Mexico. I don't get hung up on that kind of thing as long as the guitar plays well. Interesting how folk can be critical of the price without playing the actual guitar - give it a try if you see one in a shop. And compare it to some other $1,500 guitars and see how you feel. If the zip code of the factory is more important than the look, feel and sound of the guitar when you are playing it then that is up to you. Cheers.

    • @MikeFromNashville
      @MikeFromNashville  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cthomas2949 This is true. I have no doubt it’s a beautiful guitar. You are right about who cares about the zip code. The fact that it’s made in Mexico vs USA wouldn’t make a difference to me in the guitar. In fact I prefer my Made In Mexico guitars over Made in USA. The USA have the best woods and feel differently but that doesn’t mean they are better. My whole thing was in the past a $1500 price range set by Fender were always USA made. Reality is maybe prices are just going up. Inflation. So the higher price is now the norm? Thanks for your comments I love to hear from people. Take care.
