Jihyo fairly often sings OFF KEY. Some people can hear that*, some people can't.
The best vocalists--Ailee, Taeyeon, Eunji--NEVER sing off tune--that's one of the things that make them so good.
If you can't hear her singing off tune, I guess she sounds great. If you can, she doesn't.
*If you don't believe me, run this video by any one of the following people who HAVE to be able to hear if something is on or off tune to do their jobs:
Any trombone player, natural trumpet player, voice coach, professional choir singer, professional classical musician, piano tuner, and a whole lot of other people who aren't any of these things, these are the only ones off hand I can think of.

is she a avarage main vocalist?
I'd say no bcs despite her unhealthy way of producing sounds, her agility is really good, she can play with the notes doing riff & runs, got nice vibrato, she can belt with power, well developed in all registers, but also I'd say she still is average but on the better side bcs she is also improving bcs she have supported some phrased C5's continuously in more & more encore, as a main vocalist should atleast support some notes in the 5th octave & have great techniques than other vocalists. Once she got consistent in supporting the notes & sustain it only then I'd call her above average. & I'm sure she can do it bcs her placement up to Eb5 is pretty good tho it's still strained, it's just as long as her vocal coach train her the right way, for sure she'll be able the achieve it. The thing with jihyo is she always gets tensed muscles around her neck area which results to struggling & easily gets tired, she just needs to relax more in singing & open up her throat & let her diaphragm do the works. But yeah those things can happen when you are singing infront a lot of people that it makes you nervous & scared to make mistakes. Jihyo is much much better now but she was more relaxed in earlier eras. Her timbre is beautiful & rich & I love her deep voice too bcs of that.
She's like adele, okay look you may be caught off guard by what I just said but it is what it is. They got great techniques but don't really support notes, tho jihyo is slightly better. What sets adele apart than other singers is her way of using stylistic sounds to create a certain atmosphere to portray whatever emotions in a song through her voice. She don't really support but she sure is knowledgeable about vocal techniques to be able to do all those crazy stuffs but it's just what she chose to show as ADELE. Both of them are good at expressing a story of a song, but Adele is better in that aspect so far as we haven't seen Jihyo to really like do a ballad or something. But her Melody project already proves it, you may not understand what she's singing but the feels still hits just from how she's singing it.

@@shshshshdf Adele supports up to C5 in mixed register as well as produces resonance up to Bb4. Adele also has supported head voice, and not to mention *she’s a mezzo-soprano.* Jihyo is a soprano that only supports up to B4, hasn’t produced resonance at all, and hasn’t supported head voice.
I love Jihyo but let’s not get it twisted. Adele is MILES ahead of her.
