What a stunning little film, I loved your storytelling too. Such a nice pace compared to most other channels

Amazing , glad you and Gill survived. An essex skipper and I took a boat to Bergen about 10 years ago. I still remember the quietness in his recollection of being frightened by the weather at sea, God bless.

As a recent subscriber I'm on catch up with your films Dylan. I've dreamed for a long time of sailing my own yacht to Shetland and perhaps until this last quite scary film I was thinking I may still manage it! I know the reality of these waters though having lived for a few years on Unst. I was lucky enough to have raced Albacore dinghies and have fond memories of winning a trophy or two at Scalloway. One of the trophies was the David Howarth Cup of Shetland Bus fame. Gives this old sailor a warm glow to think it carries my name for winning it in 1976. A great friend of mine who lives in Scallorway also appears at 17:31 in the blue jacket holding the line. Thoroughly enjoying all your films...Dave

this was entirely an own goal. I was making splendid progress down the sheltered side of Orkney. The last forecast I had was 36 hours old. If I had just turned into scapa flow for one night it would have been nothing at all. Take your boat to shetland - v pleased I did it. Those bus blokes must have been brillaint at dead reckoning. Nav is so easy today

So much to see. When I compare the size of the USA, my country, to the British Isle, in my mind I think how can so many live is such a small place? But you, looking more closely, convey the reality that there is more to the British Isles that one could absorb in a lifetime. It is all about the willingness to experience deeply the "where we are."

that is the thing about sailing - you are travelling in the same way people have been for thousands of years - using water and wind. There is a lot that has happened in our islands - and since around 100BC at least some of it has been written down. Your continent is rich in history - but so much of it died with those who lived it.

I've been spending the last several summers sailing around New Scotland (Nova Scotia)...it's wonderful to see your experiences of sailing around old Scotland. Well done.

Fair play to your for your honesty, you’re describing the exact same the thoughts that most of us sailors, certainly I have though on some bad passages that one goes through.

it was the worst night afloat of my life. It happened right in the middle of the best summer afloat of my life. Even old blokes are allowed adventures

Well Dylan done made a plan and saw it trough ,kept your head, I would bet after reaching that bay you felt more alive than sitting at home with your feet up. It takes a man to admit to being scared. I think Jill is safe in your hands

It's been mentioned before and I'll say it again, I don't see why the BBC doesn't have you do a documentary on your exploits. It would be a good one to be sure.

Nope. Maybe an exec for MTV but not the BBC. I rather enjoy your historical slant and your eye towards nature. It's maybe because I'm a MOB. (^L^)

it is not the way it works....97 per cent will watch, enjoy the busker
for 45 minutes and then walk on and never leave a penny in the cap.
here is the weird thing. The vast majority of them will hear that the same busker is doiung an entirely new performance next month. They will come back, sit in the same bench for another 45 minutes and then again walk off without chipping in.
Nine more films to come and then, when it comes to nicely made sailing
films on youtube, it is back to the good looking women sailing big boats
in hot places. You can watch them feeding swimming pigs, drinking in bars, spearing
fish and emoting at dolphins. Marvelous stuff. Never ending
      entertainment and witty information.
