- Join us on a mysterious Mad Hatter rally as we explore rainy scenic discoveries, from a scenic river walk to historic swimming baths and a charming historic hotel. The rain fell the sun shone. Don't miss out on the adventure with Kea!

Yup don't mind the rain. Oxford wet weather gear keeps me nice and dry. Rode up to Blenheim from Grey in pouring, wild, stormy, windy weather to St Arnauds and then dry and windy. Sunday coming back sunny and no wind. Life's an adventure one ride at a time!. Missed that rally as I was in Christchurch. A wet ride there too!
That's the one thing I have found on the adventures that have involved rain... they become the well remembered rides and experiences. 😀

Riding through winter will be sure to encounter interesting ride conditions. 😀
@@Coolcrazyq thats the one getting me nervous. Have not done it yet! Any tips?
Take it easy, take your time and just enjoy the experience would be my initial tips. If feeling anxious about the conditions... pull over, take a moment and breath... relax and get back into it at your own pace.
Love the turkey hat 🦃😁
Thanks.... ha ha ha it was a very cool hand made gift. Very warm, and a little quirky 😂😜
I don't go looking for rain, but it not so bad if you have the right kit. Just got to be mindful of it being a bit slick after a long dry spell. Better once the road has had a good wash. Bit like me really LoL
Yeah, the right kit is the key part... unless ya get stuck in a downpour and the kit is still at home on the shelf 😀 I not a fan of city streets after a dry spell then some rain, as ya point out. The wet and slippy is no fun at all. 😬😬
I should be working on my quotations, but I'm watching another really enjoyable Ghosty vid 😅
As far as wet weather riding goes, it's not THE most enjoyable way to spend time on the bike, but some decent waterproofs (we've got some Scott gear, which is great) makes it perfectly OK 🌧Looking forward to next weeks vid 😁👍
Excellent. The quotations can wait. Thanks for coming back to watch.
I prob should look to get some Scott trousers to replace what I currently have.
Cheers
😁
Yeah I carry my Oxford rain pullover pants 👖 on bike take about minute to put on & winter textile jacket keep me dry.
Awesome....just a matter of being prepared. 😀
A few beers 🍺 A few "HE Never did it agaaaaiiin" yarns around fire 🔥 & then stumble back to tent ⛺ & crawl in & listen to pitter patter of gentle rain 🌧️ on tent to fall asleep too & hope Kea 🦜 hasn't put a tear in tent🤣sounds like a good time to me👍.
Thats pretty much how it all went... it was very awesome. I will deff be keen on revisiting should it be on again in 2025. 🙃
Is your windscreen the Moto Guzzi GU069772004 OEM Flyscreen? If so how do you like it? I recently purchased a 2008 Griso 1100. I also wanted to say thanks for posting the valve check video. I watched it a few times before checking my valves.
Howdy, and thanks so much for watching this and the valve video.
The screen on mine is the factory fly screen. And though small, does a fab job of taking away most of the wind. Still get a little around the head when sat upright.
But I find it does look good, protects the dash a little, and takes away the harshness of the wind. I hope you have a total blast on the Griso and it takes over your soul like mine has done to me 🤣🤣🤣
@@Coolcrazyq Thank you very much for the quick reply. I'm going to give the windshield a go. I will let you know how it turns out. The Griso is a great bike with awesome character is a very special bike and will remain in my garage.
Awesome. Let me know your thoughts on it.
I've always wanted to try the big touring screen. But it's a little bit ugly, but it's probably very functional.
Unless its biblical weather then get out there. I've found most times it doesn't rain all the time everywhere. and when ever I've gone out in shitty weather no matter how bad its been, when all said and done and you're back home it's been bloody great to have gone out.
I agree totally, even though there has been some conditions close to biblical that I have chosen the challenge. And the satisfaction of doing is great. Esp given you could have sat and done nothing all day. instead a memory of maybe a less than pleasant journey that brings much satisfaction.
Wet weather gear... Just wear it and go FFS., it ain,t hard, you just have to dress suitably. 😄
Exactly... and totally hehe. though I can understand those fair weather folk, and thats ok. 😀 But I feel a little sad they they miss what is awesome about wet weather rides.
