I mainly rock the dumpster diving scene but can be found digging through trash curbside as well as scavenging the river bottoms for lost treasures in the summer months. Join me on my epic voyages!

I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I know that others have commented on the rock tumbler I just wanted to add that I've had one in the past and you can make semi-precious stones like Tiger-eye and quartz into jewelry quality stones that can sell for good money. Different grits used to polish stones to perfection with little to no effort.

(If you go looking for it, the ELECTRIC CORD for the rock tumbler went into the GREEN feed bucket before you went back for the tumbler)
Those metal Dayton tool boxes are the BOMB!! I'd give them a good coating of "BLASTER" Penetrating Catalyst to inhibit the rusting action, let them sit for a while, then wash them off and spray paint them.
JUST LIKE NEW!!! (There are used SINGLE Dayton's on eBay for over $100 if you aren't going to keep them for yourself).

Mike, you are a working fool man. That was a nice table I hope you kept it, it would work well in your garage and you can use it when you're tearing stuff apart to take to the scrap yard. You can never have too many totes, those would also work well when you are tearing stuff apart. Love your videos

I wonder how much gas he burns while he is driving around. It makes good content but seems like it's a wash per dollar amount on the trash route.

Great find, only thing better would be one of the antique wood machinist boxes. I still have my Kennedy box , been out of the biz since 1995, CNC programmer.
@@indemniman1623 I wasn't a programer, was an operator (Mazak turning centers, 6 axis with live tooling with gantry blank loading robot and a bunch of Milicron bar machines. Now making heart surgery devices, under a microscope, quite a change. I did find an old Union oak box that I restored, fabracated a drop front for it.

I was Mazak, T-1, Cam T-2, T32 -2 controls, quality control Starrett Measure Manager System, Mig and Tig welder, before that repaired Pratt and Whitney JT9D combustion chambers for 747's. Got a little burnt out, became a Property and Casualty Insurance Agent in 1995. (should have stayed in the biz, LOL)

Dottie is squatting. That is a load. I would sell the rock tumbler at your yard sale. My son wanted one when he was little. It is a neat thing to mess with. I hope the stair stepper works, that would bring you a little money there. Still Mighty Mike.

Awesome finds/scrap run Mike. Them machinist tool boxes go for $150 in my neck of the woods. I bought mine new 30 years ago for over $250. There is a cover that goes over the drawers and locks with the lid to keep people honest. Be safe buddy with that storm brewing.

When I was young, we traveled every summer. I would collect rocks we "mined"from the mines we visited. They offered tourists the chance to get gold or (semi) precious stones from seeded water troughs. I would bring my collection back and use a tumbler to make them even prettyier. What a love for geology and mother nature that whole experience was. Thanks for reminding me!

Hey Mike. My daughter was a rock hound as a little one. If you've get a younger or older child that like to look at rocks it amazing to watch thier face when they put the sand rocks & water in the rock tumbler.
Then after awhile those stones are smooth & shiny. She (or we) made some nice charm bracelets for herself & friends. We bought a book that taught her what's what's of her stones. She even found some small geos.
She has two boys that are rock hounds to & thankfully I never throw away teaching books so she's been teaching them & it's been a Godsend with the pandemic & her teaching them at home. Don't know about your area but we're getting hit with a huge out break of the Delta Strain of Covid.
Those lights with the glass tulip shades. That's an really easy fix you just need to replace the ceramic piece that you screw the bulb in or you can buy the kit to fix it. If you find a lamp that needs shades. Be a good project to do when you can't go hunting up scrap.

HI Mike great great curbside video Dotty filled up very fast. please stay safe to you and your family and friends neighbors strangers everybody effected by that hurricane Nicholas flooding is very very bad many people have lost there homes vehicles possessions and just have each other up my way on the east coast . lets hope and pray for a early ending season to this hurricane season 2021 .

Hay Mike The Scavenger from past experience being a bicycle mechanic I noticed that scrapers getting bikes. Well here is a easy stacking solution for bicycles turn the handle bars perpendicular to front wheel and the stack so much better

Rock tumblers are to polish nice rocks and gems up to make them shiny and bring out the colours better. There's lots of money in cool rocks that you find at a river so the next time your at the river have a look for some to try it out.👊👍

I dumpster dive but I don't do scrapping, but every time I see scrap I'm like, Ooh Mike the scavenger would like that, enjoyed the video
