The blue stripes are from the animation. Here’s hoping ToyHax makes a toy-accurate conversion set. I also hope someone makes him a toy-accurate spoiler add-on.
He’s a decent figure, the broken Autobot symbol is very memorable, but he could use his own mold with more detail. (Hey Prime, ya never got back to my email😅)
SG Sideswipe is one of my favourites, the tear in the chest over the symbol is a really unique look, so even though I've no idea about anything to do with Armada I couldn't resist picking him up although I'll have to wait until the end of the month it would seem. Too bad he doesn't come with the partner like SG Sideswipe did but that's not a big deal for what it is I suppose. Still wondering about those pictures incidentally.
Got him on preorder with Galaxy Shuttle. Sideswipe is a great choice as the original transformation is about the same. Owning the original I think the black and blue are a great improvement over the brown, and yellow but at the same time it's far from accurate. Love the improved articulation as the original could basically stand and that's about it. Not a fan of this trend of painting clear plastic weapons black. Hopefully it's just the figures from this final wave.
Would of been nice if he could of been his own mold, but this is a good remold of a figure they've gotten a LOT of mileage out of. And nice for people that wanted the mold but didn't want to pay for the SG exclusive. That slashed chest and emblem is very distinct.
The blue stripes are show accurate and were on the Takara figure. Hasbro got it wrong with the yellow stripes. Did you have any QC issues with yours? The mid section for mine absolutely refuses to tab into the body so as soon as I pick him up, his chest flops forward.
Tbh, I'm not upset at the minicon being omnited. As you're well aware from my name, SG is my favorite continuity (And idw's SG being my least). So when Sideswipe got revealed, lotta folks were dissing him and saying how they wanted Jackie more, and it left me a little upset. But not anymore. :P Still, woulda made this even sweeter if these two didn't use a mold I had already decided I was gonna collect all the users of. :P
I'm perfectly aware that Wheeljack didn't come with Wind Sheer due to the Deluxe Class budget, though it's justified in that Wind Sheer never showed up in the anime, just like Tidal Wave's Mini-Con partner Ramjet.
