There's worse. Here ill name a few, Death Kappa, Atlantic Rim, Monster vs. Ape, Reptilian, Queen Kong are just a few examples and there's probably hundreds of more that would take weeks for me to count off. The Giant Claw is an underrated one in my opinion.
Not by a long shot. Sure it's corny and the monster somewhat laughable but it's competently acted and directed enough. A bit of a guilty pleasure of mine honestly.
The Monster in the film is bigger than all of the Showa Godzilla’s, Most of the millenniums, Zilla, None of the Monsterverse, and none of the Heisei Era, but some of the Rewia.
Worst kaiju movie I've seen, at least I think it qualifies as such, is Actium Maximus: War of the Alien Dinosaurs. It's a Troma movie but one that makes their famous output look like high art. It is face meltingly bad and possibly a top contender for worst movie I've ever seen in general. Thunder of Gigantic Serpent is also completely insane and got the Godzilla, King of the Monsters! treatment with new scenes filmed with English speaking actors but the original Taiwanese film, King of Snake, is just as insane. Banglar King Kong is up there too. The city towards the end is clearly made of cardboard and there is stolen footage from the 76 King Kong during the climax. There's a whole rabbit hole of Thai kaiju and toku movies of varying legal validity from the legendary Sompote Sands (definitely watch the Kamen Rider one, it is crazy unhinged and so, so bad but in a good way).
@@mrgodzillaraptors8632 If for you "Gamera: Super Monster" is "pretty bad" and "Godzilla's Revenge" "isn't to bad", I don't even want to know what is really bad for you.
@@simbiotesnus1013Godzilla’s revenge is a pretty neat film. The stock footage use is annoying, but I dunno I related to the kids struggle of coming home alone and no one being there, left to simply imagine
@@mrgodzillaraptors8632I respect your opinion, but don't agree. I understand that this is a kids movie, but honestly, the "it's for kids" argument is never an excuse for a really shitty movie, kids aren't stupid and deserve better.
The Giant Claw is 1 of those old American monster movies that gets put under the rug imo. It deserves more , there’s not really enough ppl talking about it.
Recently watched Reptilicus in 4K. The 4K print improved the picture quality, but not the film itself. It still ranks (actually reeks) in the list of bottom feeders.
In the mid 2000s, the episodes of the original Star Trek series were remastered. The process included replacing the original special effects with state of the art effects. Maybe something similar should be done with these schlocky 50's SciFi movies. This movie would really rock.
Not a Kaiju movie. To me Kaiju films are Japanese films. Thus however is sure one bug "turkey" of a film,. However it is worth watching just for nostalgia. There are worse giant monster films than this.
Cloverfield is not a bad movie. It’s definitely a product of its time, but the creature design is uniquely unsettling and it also had that really cool ARG
This can't be the worst Kaiju movie ever when the asylum exists
At least those are entertaining
Tbh as much of how ridiculous this kaiju movie is, I rather prefer it than those asylums that are actually bad
@Emmanuel-ms8pr Asylum movies are fire tho
Honestly I like the design of the giant claw a lot for how agressive it is with its bulging eyes, messy mohawk, and sharp teeth.

Reminder that James Rolfe (Cinemassacre) compared Kamata Kun from Shin Godzilla to the Giant Claw in his Shin Godzilla review.
I can see why.

It may not be the worst Kaiju movie ever made, but it takes the prize for the goofiest. For drinking game screenings and endless riffing only.
3:14 that must be 1 giant battleship they talk about
No. It literally has the strongest cast of any American 50s monster movie. Next question!
0:00 Not gonna lie that looks like a clip from a fan film

Yeah, yeah, but is it as big as a battleship? Is it? Still not clear on that. 😂
@@Torgo-and-the-Lucifer-Cat I am leaning towards yes due to how small jet planes are next to it.
I’m sorry to say, but The Giant Claw was from 1957, not 1954
Ah my bad, script said 1957 and I misspoke oh well. I appreciate the heads up!
The design is goofy but it is scary at the same time.

But "Gamera: Super Monster" and "Godzilla's Revenge" are still exist, so it's definitely not the worst kaiju movie.
Godzillas revenge isn’t to bad. Gamera super monster is pretty bad, but I wouldn’t say it’s the worst

This movie is a fun watch just to enjoy how goofy the giant bird creature looked!
Paul Bunyan watched, and he says, "Reptillicus sux more"

i saw this the first time in 1974. I'm 60 an still love this film!
No. The Giant Claw is iconic in it's own way.

The worst kaiju movie is Reptilicus, can you cover that movie? XD
Yes; cover the Reptilicus movie with the same amount of dirt they dug the creature out of.
I watched it. It wasn’t horrid but it wasn’t a movie I would watch again
You watch it lot as a kid but now it’s okay

The Monsterverse films are the worst Kaiju movies ever made.

That’s like saying that “Oldboy”(korean movie) is not a action movie, because the word action is from the English language

the title of worst belongs to yonggary.
This is not a bad movie. That honor goes to Cloverfield!
The honor should go to Godzilla Revenge
@yeleiralopez9945 No. Technically, it wasn't a Godzilla movie. The monsters only appeared in dream sequences.
