- Learn how to make Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies - they're thick and fudgy, brownie-like in texture, with a soft-baked center, rolled in powdered sugar for a crunchy crackled outer texture. It's the perfect bite-sized snack, bursting with a combination of mild cocoa and a slight tartness from buttermilk and vinegar that make the signature red velvet flavor. Enjoy!

I don’t get how this recipe hasn’t more views. It’s the absolute best RV crinkle cookie I’ve tried. Probably 50 views are mine from every time I’ve made them since discovering it, and all my family and coworkers love them! Thank you ❤
@@anaburaga Hi Ana - thanks for your comment! Very kind of you to say. We’re so happy to hear you like our recipe video and that everyone has enjoyed your red velvet crinkles! Take care 😄❤️
I have no idea what I did to make this happen, but these were literally the most beautiful crinkles I've ever made. The crinkles were smaller rather than the typical big crinkles. Really nice! On another note, I've always used white wine vinegar in my red velvets, really gives it another boost of "what is that flavor?" thing.
Hi Margaret - thanks for your comment! Glad your red velvet cookies turned out well 😊❤️

Hi if i use plain yogurt instead of buttermilk then do i still add white vinegar? Thanks
Hello - yes, you’d still add the vinegar, which is a vital component to the red velvet flavor. Hope this helps! 😊
@@cookingwithkurt hi, i just make this recipe but my cookies turn out super runny when i baked them. They’re not fluffy and kinda unbaked and melted blended together
Could you help me fix this?
@@lucasbo2090 Hello - it’s difficult for me to say for sure without seeing what you did. Letting the dough refrigerate overnight helps the cookies from overspreading during baking. Depending on the substitutions you made, you might have to add less of wet ingredients and/or more of the dry ingredients. Hope this helps! 😊
Hello! Always loved your videos... Do you have substitute for buttermilk? Or can it be 2 Tbsp of powder buttermilk
Hello - if you're using powdered buttermilk, first, I'd suggest following the instructions on the container of your powdered buttermilk, if it's available.
If the container has no instructions, I'd suggest the following: substitute the 1 cup of fresh buttermilk in this recipe by mixing 1 cup of water with 1/4 cup of powdered buttermilk first, and letting it sit for a couple of minutes. Then add 2 tbsp of the reconstituted buttermilk mixture to the dough batter like in the video.
Other buttermilk substitutes include: for each cup of buttermilk needed, you can use 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice plus enough regular milk to measure 1 cup. Stir, then let stand for 5 minutes. You can also use 1 cup of plain yogurt or 1-3/4 teaspoons cream of tartar plus 1 cup regular milk. Then add 2 tbsp of the substitute to the dough. Hope this helps! :)
Hi chef kurt and husband..sure try this chef.

What brand of food coloring do you use? I want to get that vibrant red!
Hello - I used Americolor brand (ordered on Amazon) - "super red". Hope this helps! 😊
Coolness! How about if I want it with cream cheese filling? Do you have a recipe for that? Thank you in advance.
That’s a great idea! I’d suggest using the cream cheese frosting in our red velvet roll recipe video here: th-cam.com/video/P5uJxJzJxEk/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps! 😊
Yay! Thank you!❤️

Can I freeze the raw dough balls (minus the sugar coating) be frozen for later use? I’d love to make it, but I don’t want too many at one time, since I’ll be the only one eating! 😂
Hello - Yes, you can make these months ahead of advance and just freeze the shaped dough. Just take them out of freezer, roll in granulated sugar then powdered sugar (like in video), and bake. I’d suggest adding an extra 2 min to baking time. Hope this helps! 😊
Hello kurt i dont have buttermilk what can i substitute ?
