That's really exciting, and great to have an insight into the work pre book launch. I'm a part time writer working on becoming full time so that's inspiring
Great that you use the library. I recently retired and moved to a new community. Don't ask. My children decided it was the best thing for me. I found the library. Thanks for the recommendations. I basically have nothing to do. There are dishes to do.
Picking up on your question about what content to make, looks like your high hitting videos are all about writing specifically. I clicked because I’m writing my first book and I’m always on the hunt for advice on writing for newbie’s. There are lots of book tubers out there so that may explain your lower view counts on the other content. What may be good is to take popular book you have read and do breakdown videos for first time authors to learn story structure, pacing, foreshadowing etc. hope this helps 😊 Adele
How exciting! Can't wait to hear more about the bookshop project. I love vlogs and I'd be interested in seeing your research books for the wip too. I wish there was a site somewhere for all the book launches going on locally, I always hear about these after the fact and I'm so envious, lol!
haha that is a GREAT idea to have a crowdsourced site with all of the author events. Authors usually post upcoming public events on their personal social media pages and websites, but I agree, it's hard to keep track and so often they get missed. ps. noted including a round-up of my research books for the WIP in an upcoming video! 🥰 I hope the writing is going swimmingly over on your end! Sending much love
I had Lasyk about 10 years ago... because I was almost legally blind (-6.something in one eye and -7.something in the other). I don't have to wear glasses, except for blue light blockers when I'm staring at the screen too long, and night driving scares me because of the glares...
all those things sound great! but im an aspiring writer, just finished my first draft for my book: through my eyes: chronicles of a uc berkeley student. so, anything useful to know for getting started is really helpful!
I just found your channel this morning. I really enjoyed the content of this vlog, so I subscribed! I’m looking forward to catching up on past videos, and also watching upcoming videos. I enjoy watching the writing process….a day in the life of an author, and what inspires your creativity. 😊
First, bring on all the videos! My most fave are your vlogs and recent reads…but I’ll watch all 🙂 Second, I’m -4.50 in one eye and -4.0 in the other. I’ve always said I’d rather be deaf than blind, yet I have amazing hearing. LASIK freaks me out. As much as I want to never need contacts or glasses again, I’m so afraid of it going wrong. Third, the weather in this vlog has me so jealous. It’s yet to reach sweater weather here in SoCal 🥲
amazing, tha'ts really helpful to know you like the vlogs & book recs/recent reads! ah, you understand the eyesight trials & tribulations! yes, lasik is DEFINITELY something to research heavily beforehand if you are ever going to do it, but if you're in a comfortable routine with glasses and contacts then you're golden. hahah it's so funny you say that because most people in Canada are itching to flock south to SoCal this time of year lol I'm envious of your year-round warmth, but there is something so soothing & comforting about the changing seasons
Great video, love tour channel. If you ever come to the UK there's a great indi bookshop in Bath called Mr B's and a specialist sci-fi and fantasy bookshop in Oxford.
Did you make a video on the work it took to get where you are at? By that I mean the very start… buying a a cool/cute leather journal and such? How’s you get inspiration when first starting? Sorry for this jumble way of asking a question 😅
I haven't made a video on how I got started, but I do go into depth about that in my first book (It's part memoir) about how I took a left turn in my career to become a full-time writer: amzn.to/3v3C3jm - I've made a note to do a more in-depth youtube video talking about how I got inspiration when first starting and the notebooks I use 🥰 xx
@@louiseclairejohnson oh.. lovely! I shall check it out! More importantly buy the book on Thee holidays. I hope to hear more from you!! Such an honour to be talking to a successful writer whose been through the ups & downs and willing to share experience to lend a hand for other writers!!
Hi Louise, I'm from the UK and subscribed to your channel. You mentioned ideas for content and I'm trying to find an agent for my manuscript, if you could give me any tips and advice I'd truly appreciate it. x
Hi Allegra! (I love your name) - Absolutely! I wrote it down in my TH-cam notebook to make a video on how to find a literary agent ASAP! Kudos to you for being in the querying trenches, I know what a slog it can be. All it takes is one yes in a sea of rejections and you're off to the races. Will get working on that video soon with my best tips & advice for what they're worth. xx
writing for me is like breathing, I couldn't live without it! I love the solitude, the moments where you're drafting a new manuscript and slip into that flow state. I love researching, creating cinematic settings/world building, when you write something that's real and true and it touches a cord within you. Mostly, I love the opportunity to create something from nothing but my imagination ❤️

I love writing/author Vlog content. Love your channel. So aesthetic.
Sarah!! aw yay, thank you, that makes me happy to hear 🥰 xx
Love the passport idea. I moved to Europe 5yrs ago and l love the bookshops. Also, thrifting and stationary accessories.
the bookshops in europe are so whimsical and wonderful, what a dream!

Finding the local library in a new place is like discovering a hidden treasure! I'm so glad you share my penchant for libraries :)

Was it hard to become a full time writer? I'm interested myself but no idea where to start x

Huge fan of your stuff! Down to brainstorm together or lend a hand whenever you need it.
thank you!

Could we be connected as supporting each other as authors ?
What are some things you like about writing?

Thanks so much for your reply
O café deve ser algo transversal a todos os que escrevem, muito provavelmente! 😅
coffee and writing go hand in hand haha ☕
No way I was writing the same title but in some little difference. Thinking that we have telepathy.
You look like katty perry 😅
