- Over the past 13 years, the Rooster Road Trip has taken us across the country in search of incredible publicly-accessible upland landscapes. And although crew members come and go, and some of the cornerstone bird dogs have unfortunately moved on, the spirit of this annual endeavor remains true.
Our goal throughout this entire series is simple, and that’s to highlight the fact that public land birds can be had by anyone who’s willing to put in the work. It may not always be easy, but it will always be worth it - that much we can guarantee.
And although we’re staying true to our roots, this year comes with a twist as we expand our focus beyond just pheasant and aim to slide a variety of game birds in our vests, and what better place to search for a mixed bag than Montana?
The Rooster Road Trip is made possible by: Ruff Land Kennels, Browning firearms and apparel, Garmin training collars and tech, SoundGear hearing protection and enhancement, Federal Ammunition, and Apple Autos.

Montana goes from vast grass prairies in the east to very rugged mountains in the Central/ Western part of the state. The weather can and does change as much as the terrain. I've seen it go from 60 degrees in the morning till noon and be snowing in the afternoon in Sept - October.
Beautiful footage and a great showcase as always of the wonderful public lands available for us all to enjoy! A great kick off to the 2022 Road Trip!
Thank you!
Looks like a great time! I'd especially like to hunt behind that beautiful golden.

central montana was a deserted wasteland for me.
Why does she still have the Browning sticker on her barrel?
Because it’s a new gun. Often the items used on the road-trip get raffled off afterwards.
Do you guys run into rattlesnakes on a hunt like this?
Sometimes. Depends on the year and what the temperature is.
