All the haters out there, please go and listen to highest end Hi-fi's before commenting. I've just come back from listening to a £100'000+ system and it just blows me away. It was a music emotional experience. Yes the level in gains of sound quality narrows as the price increases, but if you have the money... the sound quality is quite literally priceless.
I think it sounds quite pretentious to some people, but you're right and many people don't have the means to experience so just trash it. I have a very good home system, ATC 50 ASL's and some other entry-level high end gear, and sitting in front of them is a wholly other experience than just simply listening to music.
I'm not against high end hifi but a lot of the reason their demos sound so much better than the average home system is the quality of the recording.
Try the exact same recording on a 5 grand system and a hundred grand system and you ain't gonna see 95 grand's worth of improvement.
Or you could just fly first class to London or Paris every weekend and get front row for McCartney, Boccelli, and Roger Waters
I did a bit of reading, and these drivers are pretty impressive for what they can do. If I could have any speakers in the world, I'd take a pair of these, some Radialstrahlers, and a set of blades, for the garage of course. ;) One can dream.

I'm curious as to how those giant white horns would handle deep bass, but the material you played doesn't seem to have much bass at all. I've noticed that some audiophiles just don't seem that interested in bass; I'd barely notice some subtleties in the mid-range and treble that they'd value, but without the ability to handle deep bass cleanly, I'd be reluctant to spend a lot of money on a speaker. To each his own.
It is true the audiophiles at a deep bass are not particularly interested. But the cabinet of the "pnoe" is not a gag, but precisely designed for it. I heard it at the fair and I can only say: the bass is the hammer, I heard massive attack and I got goose bumps
No Name Bass comes from the subwoofer, not the floor speakers newb.
No Name tell me WHO need big basssss? My speakers are bookshelfs with 5' woofer. In the price i bought these speakers i could buy big floorstanders and i could have bass...but what IT would missing is top end , clarity, sparkle , outstanding imiging and very good midrange. That's why i bought very good monitors instead big but shit floorstanders
These will produce a larger waveform than a conventional woofer of lesser size. (aperture size)
So what is that; about 24 inches?

The "audiophile industry" just doesn't seem to understand, that if a speaker is athletically not pleasing to the eye, or ugly looking, people won't care as to how good they sound!!
Speakers need to look good, not only sound great!
There are plenty of audiophile speakers, that are incredibly pleasing to the eye. Sonus Faber, are just one example that comes to mind. Even their largest speakers look like a fine piece of furniture. Incredible finish,
But the makers of this speaker, know going in, that anyone who buys this speaker, will be those willing to 'put up' with their appearance, if the like what they hear.
And of course, I can't imagine anyone buying these (the large pair) is going to be trying to integrate them into a living room.
And form my point of view, since I am a "form follows function" kind of person, they are very attractive, from an engineering point of view.
for my they look fine. Go away if u dont like them.. for u going 10 other people come that would love to have those speakers.

CDs don't cover all frequencies in Hifi : use and hight end turntable and a vinyle record : that's why vinyles records are comming back .

The frequency response of a record will never match a hi-res digital file no matter how you look at it.
The only thing records have better than digital is mastering since a plastic disc has very a very low distortion tolerance.
CDs most likely cover all the fq spectrum and more

They top Radio Shacks very best. On the non speaker speaker? I would think a cleaner look would be housing the limp wiring in something more to match. What did that sound like?
You can actually get an idea of how they sound on TH-cam. I would love to hear them in real life though.

In my opinion these speakers, even for horn loaded speakers, have taken this recording, which sounds a little bright, and evens out the presentation as compared to some of the other speakers demonstrated throughout the show, which seem to excite the bright tendency, which this recording appears to lean towards . . . at least on TH-cam. These speakers also seem to have great dynamics owing, most likely, to the horn design. The overall appearance and approach to speaker design seems very uniquely contemporary and would fit in some eclectic interior designs. This again is in my opinion.

With the bass horns wouldn't there be a huge increase in med level cos of the med coming from the back of the speaker added to the usual forward face med? Maybe you compensate with like a crossover filter.

i got some of these in my living room. I am sure we had a cat at some point, at least my wife mentioned it the other day. The left hand speaker sounded a bit muffled and they replaced it. Suppose we will never know now!

What ALOT of people are missing is the components powering these.... loudspeakers.
You can have any loudspeaker you want, but if you have a shit amp, crap cables or bad soundsource, your system isnt' going to sound any better.
I love when people see a loudspeaker like the B&W Nautilus for 30.000$ and go "i want them", but they fail to see the separate Class-A powerblocks driving them.. which most likely costs just as much if not more.
Loudspeakers above 1000$ aren't really worth it, they won't change your experience that much.. the only loudspeakers actually worth their price, but still also requires a strong drivechain, are the Infinity IRS..
I would say the B&W CM-8 are also very good, but the prices are already soaring on those.
I run a pair of 4way floorspeakers in Bi-amp for using a Sony DA1200ES set to Bi-amp mode with a Sony QS CDP and everything combined cost about 700$ including cables,
and i doubt that these loudspeakers improvement in sound & quality will equal the increase in price compared to my system.
I'm not saying my system is the best and most priceworthy. But if my system can render visitors in awe, for 700$. Then this system in the video better be curing cancer for their price....

Its kinda hard to gauge a high end system on a you tube video. Ya kinda have to be there. We could be listening to anything.. However, I was sort of able to reference the voice track.. The vocals seemed sweet, very airy. But to me, the lower register cello (or whatever it is) seemed boxy. But I totally blame the miking, the room, and the recording of the video..
