You honestly have no idea how much of a positive influence you are on others, Justin. I discovered your videos on the old channel roughly around the time you started on this course, and I have been through some things myself since that time. Not to where I have a different life, but enough that I can see where I was, and I hopefully am in a better place over-all now. It's crazy to think how different things were... Keep on being that well of positivity man.
My husband is a master ASE mechanic here in SoCal and has been so worried about that Van while watching these videos! 😂 If you need someone to look at it when you get home, let me know!
Justin, the van will make it to your uncle's and take you back home. In your quest for positivity you must remember to speak positively into the future and imagine yourself finishing the entire trip without issue! Stay safe out there in Randomland! Two Thumbz 👍👍
Justin, this was an extremely interesting video not only about Mark Twain, aka Samuel L. Clemens,.but about yourself as well!!!! I've only been watching your videos for 1 n a half years now, n I am loving going back n seeing all your infamous exploits!!! Your comments about remembering the journey, even if the destination was failure, were extremely wonderful advice, that fell on my 66 year old ears that really needed to hear that from someone at this time in my life!!! Thank you for the sage advice, much like Mark Twain departed to us over the years. Great job Justin, worth Four Attaboys totally!!!
Enjoyed this Florida, Missouri (plus Hannibal) episode. Your love of Mark Twain is contagious for sure. I’m sorry to learn about your Uncle’s condition and I’m very glad you’re going to visit with him and your family. I’ll be visiting my son in STL in June. It’s always good to go back 🏡 to a place where I used to live. Now we’re on Route 66 in central Oklahoma. Cheers, Be Well and Safe. SG
Justin, hi! I am watching your latest video of Hannibal Missouri... in which I live, and I wanted you to know that the Mark Twain Cave has new owners... who have also purchased the trolley. The have also purchased 3 very large safari style trucks they will be using for tours starting this summer. So thrilled to watch h your enthusiasm for our community, things are growing and changing here in a positive way! BTW we'd love to have you move here!
Justin I am homebound with illness right now so I really appreciate you giving me these experiences that I otherwise may never have. Thank you for years of fun and education ❤
Your window issue is probably a bad driver window switch. The switch runs in series with the windows. It's possible it just backed out since the passenger window had issues before the driver window. Or it could be as simple as replacing the driver switch. The gauges and radio turning off while driving, could be the ignition switch not being seated all the way. The old Dodge vans do not have much slack in the harness to the ignition. If it has tilt, the plug can back out. Make sure it's plugged in all the way at the ignition switch.
Any vehicle that age will give you some trouble. Those engines will burn a valve once in a while. That repair is going to be costly. It may be worth it. The rest of the van looks pretty good. Stay safe.
Justin the best thing to do is check the oil every time you stop for gas!! It should live. Those engines will keep running. Just watch for blueish smoke out the tail pipe. If you decide to come to Hartford Connecticut to see the Mark Twain house I'd be happy to pull the heads and put a new set on. Best thing for you is to get to Pennsylvania!
Hey Justin,Try not to stress too much, it will make you sick, I know it's hard, we have been broke down far from home many times. We bought a couple shirts & will buy more when they are back in stock. Wish we could help more, Have loved your trip so far, we love roadside attractions & museums & all the things ;) Have a great day tomorrow, enjoy the journey ;) Sue
So sorry you're having this van problem. I had the same vintage van with the Starcraft design. Mine was purple. It became a money-pit trying to keep it running. I'm sure there are many of them on the road that run great. With mine, I never knew if when I stopped at a light that it would just die on me....which it did many times. I do enjoy your travel videos!
Justin, you could go to Elmira NY and see Sam's gazebo where he wrote. Also nearby to Elmira is the beautiful Susquehanna river where he had much peace.
Go to auto zone or some similar shop and get a fuel additive for about $10-20. Explain to them that it’s running rough and you need a fuel additive to treat an entire tank on something that was sitting for a long time before you got it. I almost guarantee it will make a difference. I can’t remember specifically what it’s called but it’s a cleaner + kind of solution for the running components that use the fuel. I’ve had experience with this owning old vehicles.
I drive a 1998 BMw 5 series and boy let me tell ya! I feel you with all these troubles . In the summer the Window motor melts and if you can time it right it'll melt closed but if you time it wrong it can melt down and the window will be down until you can take it into the Mechanic . As well my Transmission blew on me one time and was an expensive fix pretty much had to put a brand new one in! my steering wheel column gets struck when the car does not warm up in the cold . My car has it's problems.
I truly aspire to do what you do and hearing that you were able to push past so much to get to where you are now is definitely a huge inspiration to me. I'm at the beginning stages of the real world and I'm very uncertain as to what my path is. But seeing this video definitely has sparked some inspiration.
Great ending story. I found your channel recently as you began this trip. I’m at a cross roads in life right now and in about 2 weeks will be on my journey across this country. Watching your vids have inspired even more to go and to take my time to the unknown destination. Along the way find new and interesting things and find my new path. Thanks for the inspiration and safe travel……motel and sleep well
Just a comment on the van. Has the check engine light been on or is it on? Normally on something newer than mid 90s just about anything can be diagnosed with a good scanner through the OBD2 system. You need a good scanner and a technician who knows how to use it. Just from the little you have said it could be an O2 sensor or an EGR valve. Or, a clogged catalytic converter may cause rough running. Like I said, what you need is a good tech and a good scanner.
Just get to the nearest big city and there should be lots of engine rebuild& exchange shops and they''ll swap out your engine block in a day or two. You'll be fine for a decade with a rebuilt engine. Just make sure that the block comes with rebuild heads.
Justin, I love your attitude. you are lucky to have learned it early in life! yes.. positivity and people have the chance to change and better their lives.. mine was at age 38 after a bad marriage
Justin, Thank you for the outstanding travel episodes! You've taken me to places I have never previously experienced. Born and raised in LA, I later lived in the St. Louis area from 85-87, but never got to Hannibal. So, thank you! You saved me a lot of miles and gave me a lot of smiles! When you pass through St. Louis again, check out the Spaghetti Factory at Laclede's Landing. Ask for the mizithra cheese with your spaghetti--you'll be true to your Italian heritage. On a final note for now--I bought a brand new Dodge Mark 3 in 1996. My wife and I, along with our three boys, travelled all over the US and Canada in this van. We experienced so much happiness as we witnessed first-hand the beauty and unique characteristics of of every part of our nation. Sadly, with about 190,000 miles on the van, it began to suffer from its ultimate defect--its transmission. We never towed anything, but after two expensive repairs, we donated it to a military charity. I hope yours fares better. I think there are a lot of us who have been praying for Allie, and now we are also praying that your Mark 3 will continue to whisk you to many new destinations--now and in the years to come!
Thanks again for another great video. Loved seeing Mark Twain's birth cabin. We're crossing our fingers you and the van make it safely to visit your uncle, then back to California.😊
Good luck with van. I've been enjoying your journey in Mark Twain country. I may watch a Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn movie this weekend. You got me in that mood.
Thank you so much for all you do Justin and for all of your hard work. I LOVE your channel and what you stand for. Sending you so many bubbles of positivity and blessings on your trip and in every endeavor.
As I have learned, Great people often color the record of their life with wisdom. As Sam said he arrived with a comet, and left with the same comets return. Life is a series of beginnings, and endings. A great man once called his life "Staggering between the immensities of Birth, and death" what lies between the twain, is you.
TyJustin for your History & for Sam Clemons. I’m sending you good vibes and wishes for you to make it back home safely to Southern California where I also live. I’m also an old Musician with similar hardships with my old band. Docsha- go in peace. Jessie aka Jimberly’s Cousin. You remember me bro good Journeys.
I sure hope the van cooperates for you the rest of your trip. 🤞🤞 I'm in agreement with little Twain on the weather in Missouri. I'd nearly forgotten how muggy it gets. Great video! 🤍
If the van gets worse and you make it near Bloomington, IN, I have a safe and secure driveway you can leave the van in if you want to rent a car for the rest of your journey east.
Hey Justin...The man who voiced Samuel Clemens..You ought to invite him some time on the road with you when your out again in his residing area. 💯.......😏
Sorry about the van, buddy. I'm sure you thought of this, but a rebuilt engine can be very expensive. You may be able to get a replacement vehicle for a better price.
You might be better off getting a new engine instead of a rebuild should you wish to keep the van. The valves, piston rings or something is really worn out most likely. If it isn’t vibrating too much then you might make it.
From what you said it sounds like you're lacking Compression in one or more Cylinders, sadly for many engines thats the make you comftable rather than fix you point as factors like wear in the cylinder walls, warped heads and cracks can render costs more than it's worth to repair. That doesn't however mean the Van won't drive, it's possible to run like that for years without breakdown and as long as it meets emission requirements where you live you needn't worry to give it more than general maintainence until the day the last Cylinder stops fireing, it may not be a bad idea if you can store things to keep spare parts on hand as speaking from owning a 20 year old Car myself, it covers the days things get unobtanium and keeps costs down. Enough of the doom and gloom though, good luck on your journey.
Dude, You need to get rid of that van. It’s a piece of junk you should’ve never had purchased you need a more reliable transportation for your adventures

Chin up Justin. Bad times come and go. How you react says volumes. You have been through it this year and will come out stronger for it.

Hi Justin, Try some ‘seafoam’ from an auto store, you add to the gas tank to help clean the engine valves/pistons. Worth a try.

Not much, but I hope this helps with the van
I sure hope the van cooperates for you the rest of your trip. 🤞🤞 I'm in agreement with little Twain on the weather in Missouri. I'd nearly forgotten how muggy it gets. Great video! 🤍
Little plushie mark twain just talking about himself rather than engaging with people is the best thing.
Hey Justin good vlog and thank you and keep up the good work you do love jari
Loved hearing about the conception of Randomland. So glad you gave it a go…love watching

If the van gets worse and you make it near Bloomington, IN, I have a safe and secure driveway you can leave the van in if you want to rent a car for the rest of your journey east.
You should name her the sometimes van. Sometimes everything works and sometimes they don't!
I hope for success on your journey eastwards and back home
Hey Justin...The man who voiced Samuel Clemens..You ought to invite him some time on the road with you when your out again in his residing area. 💯.......😏
*Awesome video!*
Hello
Mid century Monstrosity? Heck, that’s a nice building! Have you ever seen Boston City Hall? 😂 I believe it’s “Style” is called Brutalism!
Enjoyed
Hi Justin. Did the shop retrieve any trouble codes from the vans PCM?
Very cool
Why are the head stones laying flat on the ground?
Did the mechanic change the distributor cap or the spark plug wires? Hopefully it's not the timing belt. Good luck Justin!
@Justin are you guys ever going to remake the BTTF Randomland shirts?
Sorry about the van, buddy. I'm sure you thought of this, but a rebuilt engine can be very expensive. You may be able to get a replacement vehicle for a better price.
Hope Aley gets back
I’m the vlog
That wheel must be huge
Do you think you might have lived here in a past life? Perhaps that is why you are called to visit.❤️
Knew you would take the chance. It's just what you do.
Hey Justin, by the school house you will find the grave of Mark Twain's grandfather
Hi Justin

Hannibal, MO was also the supposed home of Colonel Potter from M*A*S*H.
I would just drive it
Sounds like you might need to look for another van
Were people shorter back then? Because that horse carriage looks so small I don't think I'd be able to sit in it LOL
wheres ally
Store it. Fly there for your uncle then fly back and deal with the van.
If you don't get it fixed and limp home.I will teach you to fix your van.I'm a master tech let me know. No BS. Thank's
Fun Truth Fact Samuel Clemens took a trip to the Holy Land before Israel became a nation. 🙂
Justin you have such awesome hair man. I wish you would wear a hat less. Flaunt it doode.
Dude, You need to get rid of that van. It’s a piece of junk you should’ve never had purchased you need a more reliable transportation for your adventures
