The reality is that it is New Zealand always has been, how we are known and referred to globally.
Aotearoa is the more recent ( last 100 years) name for the North Island only.
Maori represent 16% of the population of what is a multicultural modern country.
I find it totally amazing that only 4% of New Zealanesders can fluently speak Te Reo.
Why are we changing all things to Maori names which nobody understands.
This is to appease small groups of Maori activists.

The naming of New Zealand comes from a foggy turgid region off the northern coast of The Netherlands: Zeeland. To be consistent with your argument, a rhetorical question: what relivence is there to our country in the most southern region of the Pacific Ocean where Polynesian cultues, that importantly include Aotearoa-New Zealand Maori, have called home for over a thousand years. It may be to your benefit to leap onto the internet and take a good Shufti at New Zealands early history, besides, knowledge is no burden to carry.

It is interesting the MP for Botany says the state house tenants should be expected more often for reasonable cause but he could say where these people would be housed. He put resaonablity on a government agency. He seemed to reject that was the government resaonablity.

Fact Aotearoa! What? There's no such country. It was a nonsense handle for the North Island bestowed by an English surveyor in the 1890s. This is according to History of New Zealand by the late Michael King. Sick and tired of the use of this name, considering New Zealand has been in use since 1769. 😡😡

Expose them. If someone is held out as an SME they should show qualifications or experience. Ironic this state funded reputational hit squad prefers to go to great lengths to act under anonymity much like a certain group used beds sheets and pillow cases to hide their identities in the southern United States. Who applied for the money and who authorized it. What did their application look like, when is it due for audit.

Your Tipuna and their future generations enjoyed all the benefits of signing up a Treaty that offered them military protection against several colonisers hanging around with No history of making Treaties with any other indigenous people at the time.
You should be extremely proud of what they achieved back in 1840 for all Maori and their future generations rather than rubbish their efforts to effectively make the people of the land respected as equals with the incoming Pakeha. The Treaty of Waitangi it's a historical document to be proud of by all New Zealanders not an argument for race division at this stage of the game.

Some Māori and Island aunties with their jandals outstretched are much more dangerous. We've had 183 years and overdue time for co-governance. Liz is dead and colonisation is a thing of the past according to Zelenski. Time to move into the future together.
