This dude is the shit. How he didn’t end up in prison or a drug addict before excelling in the military is an act of god, given his childhood environment. We’re all lucky people like this make it every once in a while. He mentioned Black Flag, he reminds of Henry Rollins in the fact that you get so much more personality than you’re expecting. This is the "real deal." i have told folks over the years who have asked me about my OGA jobs and rolls and they with think in general, "How can this be real?" I replay, don't do anything they cant walk away from...:-) LOL! WAR IS HELL!!!!!
This has been an example of an ADHD young man who did not rid himself of those disadvantages, but employed them in a world that needed him. I come from an upper middle class family but in younger years was a fighter on streets, got through college and law school with a wife that strangely enough, though a beautiful farm girl, came to understand my "make-up". My career was not fiscally great; I chose to care for the poor as a court appointed lawyer, often chosen by a judge to fight for them. For me, it was preserving the constitutional rights of even the mostly "beastly" clients.. In a 1st degree murder jury trial, it so much like armed combat, but in a regulated environment, with the same requirements of the lawyer as Mike Perry describes of his responsibilities. And, with gang involvement , I have been shot at a fair number of times, and to this day I am well armed when on the streets.
I love your channel and your interviews are fantastic. I understand the need to keep the guest on topic but sometimes y’all’s interruptions are distracting and disjunctive. Sometimes you just got to let them riff for awhile and revisit your questions.

I was in the Army in the late '80s and didn't see any serious drug abuse. There was one buddy who smoked weed but got kicked out.

We used miles in the early 80’s
ok will end it later, now I have to dress for work, listeniing to Circle Jerk hahah thank you Mike Perry !
