wow dillion i laugh with every video you put out, because im amazed at how fast time is flyin by, i found your videos looking for a place to fish in jersey for a short vacation, heres this little kid on his bike lookin for hot spots with a few hundred or so subscribers now you are turning into a top notch fishing video guru. over 50k now. can't sit in one spot too long either you are getting around and making a name for yourself online without doing collabs with the big channels. keep it up kid you will be a worth a million in no time. doin what you love to do.
Dillon, you got a big thumbs up from one of your subs!! No matter the pop-offs, you put in the work and got nice one in the yak! The whales surfacing in your shots was SICK!!
Great vid and awesome fish! After growing up on Cape Cod and catching countless monster stripers, I learned later in life that Boston is actually better for summer striped bass. Why? Because they reside all summer due to the deep cool water and plenty of forage, and as you observed with your own eyes, the whales show up too. Each year is different though. You were doing everything correctly that I can observe, and you’re a great fisherman. The only thing I can recommend is to try an 8/0 circle hook it makes a difference with hook-up ratio. Some will say flip the bail and let them eat it, however in reality, any striped bass worth catching inhales a menhaden instantly. Just reel and let the rod load up just like you were doing. Some old school dudes like myself still use glass rods, or glass composite, matched with Pink Ande mono. Graphite matched with braid sometimes doesn’t have enough give while live-lining large menhaden, and can be too rigid although it still works, however fish will be missed.
So I was also loosing a lot of fish live bunker fishing, I was hooking through the mouth and nose but I believe the bunker is tougher there so it’s harder to pull the hook out and hit the bass. I started hooking mine through the back and had much better ratio
Nice vid! Been a crazy summer here in the harbor. If you're back in the area - try to snag a pogie and go to the opposite side of hull gut (peddocks) - that can be productive, or go towards point allerton at a tide change. Give you credit for kayaking all the way to deer Island from the gut!
Best video yet. I was amazed of everything you did from your kayak. From catching the bait to hooking up your rig so fast. The bites you can tell were big fish, I didn’t mind that you only caught the one monster because I’m sure some of those bites were just as big. Then the whale , spectacular. What can I say , seeing that when you’re concentrating on your bite was great. Another great video, like I said, one of my best. Keep up your great work. You’re so passionate about fishing and what you do with your time that I’m sure your videos will only grow with viewers. Keep up the great work Dillion. I love watching them.
Went to Island Beach State Park two days ago where you guided me for fluke this summer (first parking lot). Lots of boats off the shore, lots of surf fisherman and no wind. Unfortunately, no bass. Did not see a single one caught all morning. Turns out they killed them on Tuesday, but nada on Wed.
Great videos as always. Started using bridles these last couple seasons with live bait and found a way better hook up ratio, one more step but worth it when ya hunting for cows. YEOWW keep it going 🤙🏾
16:15 that's probably too small of a radius to be a shark. there were good sized blues in boston harbor this fall. probably just missed a giant. they bite the tail like that.
A lot happening in this vid, from that one that chased the bait up to the yak it was huge. Then the whale breaching just grabbing mouth full of fish as it came out of the water, then you landing that monster, nice day of yak fishing. 👍 Your legs got a workout 💪
You’ve put out a lot of great stuff. But I think this is my new favorite - thanks for sharing & great work! Sorry your hooks weren’t sticking. I use a bridle clip through the nostrils and a large free swinging circle hook when I’m live lining big bunker. But congratulations on your kayak PB striper - beautiful fish! The view from your kayak was incredible-especially the humpback whales scooping up big gulps of bunker. Safe travels and tight lines.
Great video, I’ve been on a few of those wild pogy and whale bites in a kayak and it is a very unsettling feeling with whales breaching so close. Your hooks looked way small though and that’s why you dropped so many. I use 7/0 and 8/0 circles for big chunks and big live bunker and haven’t pulled a hook in years.
Top notch video. I watched every second. Give you credit being out there in a busy harbor with big boats. That first big striper swipe was awesome! You were prepared with a bunker snag and dropper rig and you were rewarded! The whale was no joke!! Do you eat your lobster rolls hot or cold? Great job.
Great video man! Those 2 mid 40” chasing the bunker up to the yak was absurd, I’d absolutely shit myself, hoping those cows make their way into the Chesapeake soon… seems like their terrorizing the Jersey coast right now, also that whale airing out next to you was insane!!
Awesome striper! I'd guess 35 pounds as well. Curious to know how much that lobster roll set you back? I bought one after a fluke charter out of Point Pleasant this summer and it was 26 bucks!!
Great video one tip just let it eat it for longer anyways I thought u we’re fishing New Jersey as soon as u launched I new were u were I fished that from shore in july Boston harbor was insane this year bunch of monsters I caught great video
Also find that with big baits like bunker, if you bridle that bait on the top of the head hook up ratio goes wayyy up! Sick bite brother love the content!!
Those bunker are gonna get eaten regardless, take it up with omega who use trawlers all up and down Virginia in the Chesapeake if you wanna bitch about “inhumane”

Great action. Those whale shots were insane.
Yeah that big guy had me a little sketched out lol
Use 9 or 10/0 it makes a huge difference when it comes to those big fish. That bigger gap is really helpful
You need to give it some more time when they eat the Bunker. Great Video
Another great video young man. Keep up the great work.Tight lines!

Definitely a blue bite
Good stuff . Go a little larger on the hook . Also when you come tight you still have to set hard . Big fish tough mouths .
8:36 those are two very good sized bass...
Big fish. I had the same thing 3 big bass follow my bunker up to the boat. Eventually got into them in LBI. Awesome fishing bro

I can’t stop watching, so good 🤩
Keep sending my friend, we appreciate you out here in TH-cam land 🫡
Ah my favorite fish what up dill get em
7/0 isnt enough hook for adult bunker, up that to owner 10/0 you'll hook way more
You are incorrect

What kind of kayak do you have? And do you highly recommended it?

Did you get a new van staal?
Lmfaooo bro saw u catch that hawg and IMMEDIATELY high tales it over to you hahaha
bro i live bait for bunker to n the key for good hookups you need a live bait bridal in between the eyes that hook up ratios are amazing
Awesome striper! I'd guess 35 pounds as well. Curious to know how much that lobster roll set you back? I bought one after a fluke charter out of Point Pleasant this summer and it was 26 bucks!!
Yeah buddy!!!!
FIRE!!!
Молодец! Ты отличный рыбак!

crazy good vid , get emm , last week whales right off sandy hook beaches
At 3:55, wasn’t that the buoy in Jaws when the girl first got killed😂
Nice one bro. Trying to get on em still down in Jersey on the surf. Been tough
WOW!!!
epic.
44 inch still small , 46 inch big different size, work better cut bait in half
You still live at home
incorrect riging they felt the weght
That and the shitty circle hooks
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t figure it out. Oh well, at least I know for next time. Thank you!
I agree. That’s the inline circle hooks. If they were offset you would have better success. Unfortunately that’s not legal. Great video
Also find that with big baits like bunker, if you bridle that bait on the top of the head hook up ratio goes wayyy up! Sick bite brother love the content!!
Where did you launch the boat ?
He's getting hotter by the day!
Its not very human to snag bait fish
Why?
Those bunker are gonna get eaten regardless, take it up with omega who use trawlers all up and down Virginia in the Chesapeake if you wanna bitch about “inhumane”
