We have the winner of the VG24! Seeing you in good spirits is so uplifting. You are a true modern hero. In spite of all, have a great landfall. We'll miss your incredible optimism and power in this race 🖤
While there is the verb “to prepare” for adversity, there is a new verb “to piphare” which is to overcome tremendous adversity with applied knowledge, focus, grace, and joy. You have set an example that goes well beyond just sailing. I will try and remember to “piphare” whenever unexpected challenges arise. What an inspiration you are!
It’s all been said, Pip, and very eloquently and fulsomely, but I feel compelled to add to the catalogue of praise that’s you so richly deserve: a million congratulations on a wonderful feat of seamanship, and thank you for your inspirational example of courage, determination, humility, honesty, good humour and all the best human qualities that we would all aspire to. Sincerely glad you have arrived safe and sound.
Dear Pip from Cape Town. Your seamanship is unbelievable. Absolutely inspirational how you changed a such a total disaster into your slow boat to Melbourne and doing something every day to make a positive difference. Good luck for the next chapter
Glad you made it safely. You were my best entertainment for the last few weeks. As someone who lost his wife 8 months ago, you have shown me that it is possible to pick yourself up & move on. ❤️🇨🇦
What's the plan now Pip,have followed your slow journey from start to Melbourne. Will be waiting to see you return to Poole with your yacht I hope. You deserve the Fredoom of Poole.
Me too, blowing my nose like crazy! Happy she made it safe & sound, but sad that this part of her adventures are over. Still, we've got 4 years of getting ready for the next one to follow. Silver lining.
What's left to say Pip? You've changed the world - not all of it obviously but a significant event none the less,. The Slow boat to Melbourne showed us the beautiful side of a human being, sharing the highs and lows, tears and smiles, giving all finish the race. Thank you Pip, thank you so much ❤
I had a few tears in my eyes, seeing you arrive finally after your slow boat journey to Melbourne. I'm glad you made it safely back - although, as many have written before, we will miss your inspiring daily updates! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us! And now take some time to rest and relax before starting into the next adventure. And you made it to Melbourne well before New Year's Eve!
I'm incredibly happy that you made it safely to Australia and received such a warm and caring Welcome from the locals in Melbourne. I'm very impressed not only by your sailing and 'crafting' skills to get the boat and yourself to save shores. However what impresses me even more and I think is a role model to us all is the positivity you shown us on your videos documenting this wild ride over hundreds of nautical miles. Not letting the negativity drag you down in this very challenging situation - mentally and otherwise - but focus on the way forward, improving your situation one step at a time, one day each day. It is the mark of an incredibly mental resistance that hopefully inspires us all in our daily lives. Three cheers for Pip, indeed!
Wonderful sequence of slow videos. You're safe, the boat is safe. That's all that matters. Many thanks for being able to share your journey and travails.
So pleased you made it. Gonna miss the Slow Boat. Enjoy some R&R before the hard work starts all over again. Don’t be a stranger on here, keep us updated please. And well done to the Aussies for making you so welcome. Happy New Year.🎉🎉🎉
Our modern societies are all about racing and rushing, making us sick all the way. The marvellous success of your Slow Boat is more meaningful than many, and even you yourself, might think.
Congratulations Pip! What an achievement. Not only did you sail Medallia safely into Melbourne but you had the bravery to record each day and update your followers with your progress in such an honest and open way. The ‘Slow Boat to Melbourne’ has been the highlight of this Vendee Globe and you certainly deserve all the kind comments that have been made. Roll on 2025. I can’t wait to hear your plans. 👏💐👏💐👏💐
I had to watch it two more times, especially the part where you're eating your fruit and berries, haha. So important to eat fresh, raw foods, after all this time of freeze dried. Congrats on your remarkable feat, Pip!
We've followed every second of your videos since the start. So very happy that you've made it safely to Melbourne. The way you faced adversity is an example to us all. Wishing you a safe journey home.
Well put Adrian.I just admire the way she picked herself up from what must have been floor level. Right down there. She responded with such a great positive methodical approach by doing a bit every day. It just have been a lot harder than she let us know. Great stuff Pip!
Bravo Australia for giving Pip the hero’s welcome she deserves! Pip, enjoy the hospitality and the camaraderie among sailors - and come back stronger from the experience! You have seen that you can be a winner even when you have to quit the race.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart for sharing the daily small glimpses into your process. I'm absolutely glad that you made it, but also I will dearly miss your daily videos!
Bravo! Your courage and positivity has shined to all of us following you in your slow boat! Can't wait to follow your next episode of the "fast boat" around the world!
OMG: I remember the times I got fresh veggies and fruit after a long crossing. Best thing in the world. Very happy you made it safely. You are so inspiring.

Dear Pip , you’re a legend now , your high spirits and resilience elevated you to this rank among all the sailors of the planet . Winning races is the ultimate goal of every competitive sailor but you surpassed it all in my opinion by your attitude and the smile of a wonderful , courageous and inspiring woman ! Pip - with tears in my eyes: thank you so much for showing us, what is possible in impossible moments. What you showed us here is mind changing to me- and I am thankful, that you’re now in Melbourne Harbour - safely. Awesome sailing, Pip! Your whole vendee series mirrors my offshore experience. Major miracle that your fully loaded mast crashed down without massive damage to you or the boat. What a pro to get right to work slow boating. Your logic and decision-making are for every captain of any vessel. You very effectively kept your crew informed even though we were on our couch. Bravo Pip!
Bravo Pip!!!! You did it and took us with you in this unbelieveble slowboat to Melbourne journey. You are just Extraordinary!!! All the best for your next projects. Thank you for taking us with you through jour resilient journey.
