My God this is beautiful! I could listen to this forever! Only problem I have with this track is it isnt longer, like 8 hrs, so I can listen to this while I sleep! Haha Some of the sounds you are making remind me of the underwater music in Donkey Kong Country on SNES. Litterally some of my favorite video game music of all time. SUBSCRIBED!!!!!!
Thank you! You can mimic this setup with with any two synths that have internal sequencers + cool effects. This particular setup is very nice though because these synths are very ergonomic and feel great to use!
Yes it was. I recorded via a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface into FL Studio where I had two different fx channels, one for each m32 with slightly different effects on.
RemixSample Awesome, that is just so impressive. I barely found out of the M32 late last year and was just blown away. Then I came across so many vids and this just popped out and again blew me away to where I am just itching to reach my savings goal to get my gear going. Thank you so much and please keep going. I’ve been jamming to your music through Spotify too.
RemixSample Also, my set up at the moment is just the System8/Yamaha Keyboard connected to several Pedals to give off some rev/delay etc. I was using Ableton on the side, but I’ve been inspired to work without any sort of software/computers.
Yes I like this setup. No planning required just enter some blips and bleeps into the sequencer and you've got something cool going. Thanks for the support! :)
Thanks! I was gonna say you just saw the tutorial because I did everything from scratch in this video but I'm sure I go more into details. However, if you have a look at the other video and read the video description there's more info there: th-cam.com/video/tjwHwVBWWmk/w-d-xo.html
This is really good and inspiring as I got two Mothers my self. Seldom I hear the use of so much effect be so good. Maybe like a wherry good cake with unhealthy amounts of sugar? Well done.
I use the default setting on Valhalla Shimmer but I adjust the dry/wet signal during the video. I also play around with the feedback knob. I don't remember the delay settings but probably default as well, nothing special.
AMAZING!!!! I love your videos so much. Are you just using 2 M32's, each with 1 osc going into your DAW with a shimmer reverb? It sounds MASSIVE when you start adding the reverb. I don't really get how you can so easily do that.
Yes you got it Mike, that's the setup. Playing with the feedback knob on the Shimmer reverb helps to add a lot of high pitched notes. Also playing around with the wetness amount does a lot to the "hugeness" of the sound. Anyways, glad you like it!
Gorgeous... I have to say that I have yet to find an outboard effect that comes close to what I can achieve within my DAW using Pro-R, Adaptiverb, MGranularMB and what have you. But I am on a hardware only mission at the moment and I only use my DAW to record. When I use effects I rely on my HX Effects and MPX500. Nice work here......
Yeah I know what you mean. VST effects are just too good and the ease of setting them up in various configurations makes them unbeatable imo. I have a eurorack case with clouds and a Z-DSP with a Valhalla Shimmer cartridge but that cost me an arm and a leg compared to software solutions. :o
No. It doesn't sound as good IMO and lacks access to knobs and features that the VST version has. The ventris dual reverb pedal looks like a nice hardware alternative.
Thanks for the reply-this is very helpful. I've been considering the Z-DSP but have hesitated because of the price, and more critically, concerns that it wouldn't match the quality of DAW effects and reverb pedals.
The short version of that is just add lots of Valhalla Shimmer reverb. But sure, I'll try to make a similar video to this where I make the track live. I'll add it to my to do list.
@@RemixSample Okay, thanks! So no MIDI, right? It's basically just about recording the jan in good quality and add software effects. I have one Mother-32 and I ordered a second one few days ago -- so we'll see what happens! :) I don't have much experience with DAW software, but I have Logic Pro license.
NICE but i don´t belive this was made only with 2x Mother 32. I Swear there is a hidden Reverb / Delay or maybe a Pre-recorded Track in the Background...
Do you know if Valhalla Shimmer is available as a plugin for Ableton? I currently have a Neunaber Immerse but I'm sorry to say it doesn't really come to life like Shimmer seems to.
I've been checking out videos of the Ventris Dual Reverb Pedal th-cam.com/video/XmrcVsSXEJA/w-d-xo.html . It looks like a great alternative. The only pedal I've tried myself is the MS 70 CDR and it's okay, sound quality is not great but for the money it's a steal.
@@RemixSample I'm trying now with the Volca Sample, was guessing that was a good starting point :). Debating on what should be my next move, Deepmind 12D with an arturia keystep or a single mother 32 unit. My logic tells me to go with the DM12D but my gut is telling me to get this mother 32 and the VH shimmer and just turn knobs, but i'm prob not going to get this sound from it :D.
If you like using software synths I recommend checking out The Legend. It's a polyphonic Model D pretty much www.synapse-audio.com/thelegend.html and it sounds amazing!
Nothing beats a mother’s love.
But the CRAVE.
I don’t think you understand the amount of chills this gives me
Haha nice! No I wish I could!

Awesome. God damn the Mother 32 is a magnificent machine!
One of the best videos on TH-cam
Happy to hear that!
Amazing soundscape from one synth and great composition
Much appreciated! 🙏
Reminds me of Stranger Things. Awesome, man!!!

This is inspired! Outstanding segemnet starting at 4:53
Wow just wow.
It is amazing what someone can do with just 2 oscillators. Bravo.
and a nice reverb
yes, and 45 seconds of reverb ...
Fucking amazing.
You have galactic Soul that speaks through Moog , I know in my heart Moog was seeking you just as you were seeking it for Music

Stunning
And they say that the Crave can sound like this! Yeah right. Even on some crappy speakers the M32 gives me goosebumps! Well done man.

Lov your channel bro. Inspirational as always.
Way cool. What subtractive synth composition is meant to sound like! Amazing what you pumped out of these two synths.
Thanks! The Valhalla Shimmer and Crystallzer effects makes this simple setup really fun to play around with.

Stranger things ost fr fr 😍
This was really good. Killer jam! Is the mother 32 your favorite? My favorite combo is digitakt and an A4.
Yes I think it is my favorite. Thanks for listening! :D
Brilliant ! So there are other instruments playing the string sounds? The sound is huge.
Hi. No the only sound source in this video are the two M32's but Valhalla Shimmer adds a lot to the sound with it's pitch shifting shimmer.
RemixSample have you ever used the Strymon BigSky reverb unit? Would you know how it compares to the Valhalla Shimmer?
No I have not. It's sounds great from the demos I've watched but I have zero hands on experience with it.
Nice work bro what’s the setting on the reverb ???
I probably started with the defaul settings and adjust the wetness and feedback up and down during the video
Can I midi control the mother 32 with a minilogue?
Yes it can, no problem.
How can you resist the call of the patch cord?
Haha well I'm not sure but somehow I manged to resist. Having limited recording time also helped.
Damn... I suddenly want a Mother 32x2... .again..........
@@markbradley5860 Honestly? With my rack I already have a far superior setup! I think I was suffering a bit of GAS when I wrote this, 2 years ago!
Just started up with analouge synths. Much fun. What else have you connected? Reverb and delay? Must have one, two, three mothers.
Yes that's right. I used these effects: Tal Dub Delay 2, Valhalla Shimmer & Soundtoys Crystallizer.
have you modulate the reverb or delay effect?i can heard many movement of effects
Yes that's right. I adjust the wet/dry level manually at some points.

great sounding! so the paddy sound and all these dreamy tones actually processed they came from the reverb and delay?
Yes. 2x M32 into Valhalla Shimmer and some delay. That's it! :D

Woooooooowwwwwwww
Hello, so how do you exactly do this? Do you record it in Logic Pro / other DAW as an audio track and add reverb there?
Yes pretty much. Both the Mother 32's are hooked up to my usb audio interface into FL Studio where I add effects and record.

Eventide's Space Reverb is a great option I think. Lots of great shimmery presets.
Big Sky, yes. Nuenbar Immerse or my personal interest lately has been in the Emperor Reverb. Versatile and gorgeous pedal.
The best options are Strymon Big Sky and Eventide Space. Very pricey though
