I'm trying to replace my screen. As soon as I place battery back in, the power and volume buttons don't work. It works if i loosely connect it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong when putting battery back in ?
Ur hella right...Lol damn, I wish I saw ur comment before I ended up having to double back a few times until I noticed the same discrepancies...oh well, lol... Much love and respect man
Thanks for the video, I managed do it myself but only issue i have is proximity sensor. I fucked up the original one and aftermarket probably doesnt work or i placed wrong...
I'm wondering, why are you removing most of the parts? Of course, maybe it's something I don't understand, but I took a look at my local parts store, and there's two types of screens, first is just the display itself, and second is the display along with the frame of the phone..

He totally wasted time by taking off the earphone module and the vibrator motor. These do not have to be taken off to remove the old screen. Also, I didn't know he was going to cheat and just buy a new touchscreen in a frame. It's not the same repair.
Thanks for the video! Do I need to change or add new thermal paste? The smartphone seems to have heating issue and after 2 minutes playing music the sound turns off/on repeatedly (2 seconds on, 2 seconds off) while the player and the song still play (no pause). The issue appears also using external speaker through the jack.
I do not think, this is something to do with thermal paste.Poco Have some history with heating issues. Most of the time with the board.Don't you have warranty for this device?
@@DIYGeardo Yes but I think my warranty is gone when I removed those screws :-) Today I'll add some thermal paste, check every socket connection and test it again, I will let you know! Thanks!
@@DIYGeardo I had the warrany, but I broke the screen and the touchpad stopped working, so I replaced. If you just need to replace the battery - You actually don't need to detouch the camera. it can be lifted ~1cm up with cable still attached allowing you access for de- and reattachment of MB bus and the battery itself.

Lcd screens are cheap on internet. The problem is when you get your phone repaired at any shop, they charge you 400% for the price. That's why everyone should learn this skill
if you not a profesional always do repair with frame, otherwise you will waste your time and money. I personaly fixed many iphones but android phones screen replacement only is 50/50 for amateur.

This isnt an honest video, you havent broken the glue like we have to do, you can clearly see you have practiced this before. all your parts fall out, we have to pry them, that process is stressful. you also failed to mention the light sensor needs to be swapped 6:04. this is also the proximity sensor, not having this working properly has major consequences on call functionality! either the screen goes black during a call, or your ear can press buttons. I am suspicious that the replacement screen is not compatible with the sensor. also the thermal paste needs to be reapplied and is not provided with screen kits. I recommend you do not try this at home unless you are VERY sure it can be done. (I failed with the light sensor, not matter how I tried I could not get it adjusted to work)
