My friend who was 198cm has been struggling with clothes too and we're not even in an asian country, lol... He had to get custom sewn clothes from ateliers sometimes. I think i speak for alot of your subscribers in that we wouldn't make fun of you, more so the ridiculous size difference between people in japan vs many foreign countries.
0:10 what are you talking about? Your body is fine! Everyone’s perfect the way they are and you are no exception. Honestly, that’s the body type I’d like. definitely glad you liked and got to fit into some of the clothes! (Sorry if that sounded weird lol. Im not great with compliments)
As someone in her 30s who genuinely shops in the children's section (some adults are short, it happens), I think I should start looking at stuff from japanese stores. Anyway: Great to hear they're starting to be more size-inclusive and you found stuff that fit even when you didn't expect it to, Aki! Those black tops all look amazing on you!
I'm 6ft tall but places rarely have 38A sized bras except the girls/preteen section 🙄. Not every woman have B+ sized boobs and I was a swimmer so my back needs a bigger band than 34.
I’m heading to japan in less than two weeks and so stoked to go clothes shopping cause European/American XS is still sometimes too big 🤣 And then I go to Thailand and I’m suddenly an L haha.
Bra cuteness is a bell curve. A similar thing happens on the other end of the spectrum, when your completely flat like me, designers just go , "Come on it's not like you need it we're not wasting our pretty patterns on you"
This is exactly why i learned to sew. I'm not a big girl, but i do have weird body proportions, and i tend to like things that aren't in fashion, so I just make it myself. Also Aki, you're gorgeous, don't let not fitting clothes put you down! It sucks that of the rack clothing don't really flatter many people. My tip is either get it custom made (sadly very expensive), altered, or learn how to sew, that way you do get the really cute fitting outfits.
Meg Turney shopped for gravure outfits in Tokyo recently, and she heard multiple sales girls whisper "size huge" when referring to her. She looked amazing in everything.
“I can taste the denim”I am dying! I’m a plus size and I relate so hard to this video. Don’t know if I could find clothes in Japan, but at least the tops are stretchy and cute. That zipper top and bralet ❤
You look great Aki and I liked that black top at the end on you! Remember, we have all the time in the world to look at ourselves to find things we think looks bad but others don't spend that much time or get that close to see we what we see. They may not even agree with what we think as "bad" on ourselves. My favorite thing to remind myself is that anyone who is judging others just on appearance is a crap person who isn't worth your time or head space. You look great! You look happy and healthy and I'm loving that for you! Luv ya girlie ❤

2:46 not gonna lie that would be like cute with a sequin or like a mesh see-through shirt on top of would like a black skirt or something that would be really cute
I've had a big bottom and giant thighs my whole life and a small top part. I've never had a problem finding tops, but holy hell I never find nice pants / dresses / skirts. They either never go over my butt, if they are too large they make me look way too wide, or they make my hip dips look horrendous. I found a pair of jeans that is comfy and fits well and I've been buying the same model for almost 3 years now. I straight up have 10 pairs of the same jeans, I am not willing to go through hell just so my ass looks fancy.
Most Asian companies and high end Haute Couture brands don't make bigger sizes because they want their brands be aspirations, rather than availability. It sucks when I can't even find good fitting bras that don't look like maternity or Kevlar armor that also isn't pink or tan.
Not the jeans dance 😂😭 I feel the pain! Glad you got some nice stuff though Aki, that top with the zip at the front was super cute! Especially with the beanie too 💜 Loved that
Aww i was having sm fun watching the video n having a laugh because of the jean dance but then you said bye i didnt even realize it was already the end of the video, the video felt so short meaning it was really good i really liked the video it was funny and the outfits were really nice
Yes, America does have H cups. I am one of those people. They are incredibly hard to find, SUPER expensive and usually only ever found online, but they do exist. And finding something other than white or tan is rough. Even black is a hard color to locate in my size.
Having a Cup E to F in Germany can also be difficult but makeable also for cute stuff. But when the wife of my brother came to visit us from peru she flew back with four new bras in her suitcase. She also told us that in peru it feels like all the cute bras are only for small sizes and especially if you have "the body of a mom" (as she called it) you will never find something sexy. It gives her and also me the feeling like in this size, age or moment of life you are not sexy and thats why there is no cute underwear needed or sold in stores -.-
I'm glad you have been able to find clothes to fit bigger sizes! Honestly, I gave up shopping years ago. I HAVE managed to find tops for myself, but I also don't dress up so much so I'm okay with wearing the shapeless clothes I have had for years haha. I have bought overseas everytime and I just never attempt to shop in Japan again. But you have given me some hope.
short stacks never have a an easy time shopping, not matter what country they are in, especially if you're a short stack with dangerous curves, and you should have a yellow caution sign.
8:52 oh i know the pain of jeans that fit everywere but my ass every damn pair fits everywhere but my ass why cant i find a pair that fits right (male btw)
Idk about dude sizes but I typically have this problem in plus sizes because my hip size is very large in comparison to my waist so if I want it to fit my ass I have to size up and then have all this flabby fabric around my waist 🙃 Fast fashion is not forgiving if you have "atypical" body proportions.
As a Japanese person who leans more “mid size” when taking JP sizes into consideration, I’ve figured there’s different “tiers” to plus size and average size. And this mainly from years of personal experiences from traveling to Japan a lot and shopping. The last year I went I wasn’t particularly healthy (barely exercised and ate more processed food at the time) I still somehow found clothes that fit me at those designer shops in Ginza. As along as it’s made from stretchy material and has elastic bands, I can usually fit *something*.
You are seriously the most adorabale human being! As a +size lover of fashion, I'm now going to put my 2cents in. 100% agree 1st bra can be worn as outer layer, totally cute. I kinda want one now. SO GLAD 2nd fit you! I love it! Get a bra extender, adjust the straps, and rock it. Don't worry about taking 3rd from someone else, you have given it value through educating the masses, just thrift it. 1st shirt is cute (for you, not me, I hate wearing stripes). I'm sad it didn't fit but someone is going to get it 2ndhand and love you for it. 2nd shirt is unintentionally funny, the type one buys for the lols, but someone will buy it 2ndhand for same reason. Jeans are evil for +sizers and those cute in theory but bad in reality. The dress could totally be modified! I say keep it if you want to do it or find someone to do so for you. The zip-top is fantastic and should totally go into your normal rotation. The shorts are nice but have the same problem as the jeans, sadly. The last top is gorgeous on you! I would keep the 5 good ones, donate the other 5, and call it a win! My husband came home today and told me I had to watch your latest video. He was absolutely correct, you are amazing!
Friendly reminder to everyone: You're body is perfect the way that it is, there is no reason for you to try and fit beauty standards, and clothes should fit you not the other way around! ❤❤❤

@10:45 "My ribs are crushed, but at least I look good." that is a whole ass mood right there.
But yeah, asian sizing is wild, and the folks making the cloths simply don't seem to grasp that there are a lot of thicc people out there who would gladly buy their clothes but can't because they exist outside the sizes they make.
as someone with a similar build, i have always had the discomfort of shopping with my friends of smaller builds. and its affected me in so many ways, that leave me feeling horrible about myself lol. so i totally understand the relief that you felt and im so glad that this video turned into a W for you. Been supporting for a long time, so its always great to see you happy. :))
god i feel you on the shoulder issue, so many cute tops with straps that just fall right off my shoulders. Fun video, there were some cute items even if they were tiny.
The jeans dance! Yep! 😂 I was taking a drink of water and nearly spit it out laughing 🤣😂
no because you actually look so so good omg. you don't need to be self concious, you look great~!
this is the most relatable video I've watched
I only just stumbled upon your channel. As a 66 year old mama hen, I feel now like adopting yet another daughter! I have two daughters, and I have lost track of how nany of their friends I have "adopted" over the years! I love your peppy personality and humor. Welcome to my extended fam!
This is the 3rd video Aki has made where she tries on Japanese sizes and it keeps getting more and more iconic!!!😂
OMG When you pulled out the tiny white one I spat my drink I was so surprised and giggled so hard. But as a bigger busted lady, I'm grateful to see there may be hope for me to shop if I ever come to Japan.
The white one she showcased may actually fit me as a flat chested woman.
(Yes I'm that small.)
8:23 I regret watching this without headphones at work 💀
7:05
This reminds me of this one time a translation from Japanese to English. It was for a boba place and the sign said,
“Hi I am Boba
Suck my balls!”
And to top it off, a cute little image of a cup of boba had to say it.
I WAS ROLLING ON AFTER SEEING THIS 💀
Hot take: They knew
love you Aki 🥺🩷 you're so pretty
That last bit made me sad, my roommate and I hoped in bc we're aware that clothes in japan are painfully small, she is very tall and I am very bulky and bony.
I have to buy shoes in the kids section sometimes.I'm small too!
Do you buy pants from womans petite stores because little girls don't have wide hips, and how do the girls t shirts even fit when you've got boobs?
Thank god I’m not the only one who has to shop in kids as an adult - as a 5’2 person, adult pants are just too long 😣
I'm 6ft tall but places rarely have 38A sized bras except the girls/preteen section 🙄.
A similar thing happens on the other end of the spectrum, when your completely flat like me, designers just go , "Come on it's not like you need it we're not wasting our pretty patterns on you"
honestly those clotues with nonsense English on them are too funny and i love them
This is totally old school aki and I freaking love it it’s a vibeeee❤
This is exactly why i learned to sew. I'm not a big girl, but i do have weird body proportions, and i tend to like things that aren't in fashion, so I just make it myself. Also Aki, you're gorgeous, don't let not fitting clothes put you down! It sucks that of the rack clothing don't really flatter many people. My tip is either get it custom made (sadly very expensive), altered, or learn how to sew, that way you do get the really cute fitting outfits.
Oh god. I'm getting second hand claustrophobia from this. Nothing triggers my anxiety quite like getting stuck in my clothes lol
8:41 I CANT STOP LAUGHING I DO THIS. IM CRYING I KEEP LAUGHING
3:12 that bra looks like a police officer bullet proof vest but is actually cute
Aki should also start a clothing brand like Joey.
Happy Aki makes me happy!! i love how this turned out better than expected for you!!!
Aki is such a vibe 😂
The ritual dance sent snot out of my nose from laughing
Literally me af
i wish sizes were more inclusive i loveeee the styles of them :(
saved you money because you probably wouldn't look good in them anyway ;)
@@GameFuMaster Ok GameFuMaster thank you for this riveting response!
@GameFuMaster what the fuck is wrong with you? You didn't have to comment this.
@@desirains6462 nw, I gotchu
@@desirains6462Gamefumaster on that bull
The dial up screen with that cry had me laughing out loud. 😂
Would love to see a vid on the stores/brands you like shopping. moving to Japan next year and ya girl’s tall AND thicc. lol.
Aki, you give me hope for my shopping dreams in Japan. I LOVE Japanese Lolita style underwear!! It is SO PRETTY!!! My fav set is a blue tea pot pattern set- I want to get more but finding more was always a concern! I wondered if there would be anything else I could wear!
You give me hope that not only is it possible- but I can look GOOD TOO!
Thanks for making this video Aki! We appreciate your sacrifice!!!
the reaction at 10:16 is so cute and honestly super relatable lol
2:28 "Do we even have size H in the US"
Me, an L cup: ☹️... 😭
I struggle with body dysmorphia, but you give me hope that I can look good despite my size
11:05 was my favorite outfit and I desperately need to get something similar
I'm so glad your hard work at cross fit has lead to such positive results ❤
0:08 "Focus on me!" No!
Not the jeans dance 😂😭 I feel the pain! Glad you got some nice stuff though Aki, that top with the zip at the front was super cute! Especially with the beanie too 💜 Loved that
I love those last two tops! As a fellow busty girl in Asia, I know how it feels like to shop and find nothing that fits your chest 😂
Aww i was having sm fun watching the video n having a laugh because of the jean dance but then you said bye i didnt even realize it was already the end of the video, the video felt so short meaning it was really good i really liked the video it was funny and the outfits were really nice
Not your reaction at 10:35 xD I`m so sorry, but it made me laugh...
the dial-up scream 😂
you’re so real for this
bless
Yes, America does have H cups. I am one of those people. They are incredibly hard to find, SUPER expensive and usually only ever found online, but they do exist. And finding something other than white or tan is rough. Even black is a hard color to locate in my size.
aki makes me feel so much better about my boby when she shares her struggles too thank you
Having a Cup E to F in Germany can also be difficult but makeable also for cute stuff. But when the wife of my brother came to visit us from peru she flew back with four new bras in her suitcase. She also told us that in peru it feels like all the cute bras are only for small sizes and especially if you have "the body of a mom" (as she called it) you will never find something sexy. It gives her and also me the feeling like in this size, age or moment of life you are not sexy and thats why there is no cute underwear needed or sold in stores -.-
lolol The japanese Daisy Dukes took the cake! BTW you are adorable.
10:50 just wanted to say... both You and Jeoy have so much fkin charisma, G G lol.
Ah the Jeans dance, which can end in success or my self esteem taking a hit 😂
The jeans dance IM IN TEARS 😭😭
short stacks never have a an easy time shopping, not matter what country they are in, especially if you're a short stack with dangerous curves, and you should have a yellow caution sign.
Honestly I'd love to see a shopping/haul video from Aki! She has a great fashion sense
girl I love youuu 😭
Your literally one of my fav TH-camrs I honestly love and ur videos 🙂↕️🫶
8:52 oh i know the pain of jeans that fit everywere but my ass every damn pair fits everywhere but my ass why cant i find a pair that fits right (male btw)
Same...
Idk about dude sizes but I typically have this problem in plus sizes because my hip size is very large in comparison to my waist so if I want it to fit my ass I have to size up and then have all this flabby fabric around my waist 🙃 Fast fashion is not forgiving if you have "atypical" body proportions.
this went way better for you than i expected, well done on the fitting in stuff
As someone who wears a smaller size, I clearly don't belong in Europe 😂 All the cute clothes are too big for me
^+^ There’s a place in Jujo on the street market that sells plus size bras at discount prices. I usually go there to get thermals and socks ^+^
I'm 4'10" 114 lbs and struggle to find pants etc. in the US even short sizes are too long. I always do my shopping in Japan when on vacation.
The 'Radate' outfit looks amazing. Like you can't breath, but you look fantastic!
The jean dance ritual is so fucking real LMFAO. I be pulling moves i never thought i could do
As a Japanese person who leans more “mid size” when taking JP sizes into consideration, I’ve figured there’s different “tiers” to plus size and average size.
7:16 AdvertIzement English is amazing!
Friendly reminder to everyone:
You're body is perfect the way that it is, there is no reason for you to try and fit beauty standards, and clothes should fit you not the other way around! ❤❤❤
I think she's doing crossfit for her health than about weight.
Sounds like cope, but ok
