- Eric Roberts presents the award for Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy to Melanie Griffith for Working Girls. Melanie Griffith is filled with excitement that she even forgot the name of one of the fellow nominees. She recalls that the last time she was up on the stage was when she was Miss Golden Globe. She thanks the Foreign Press Association, 20th Century Fox, producer, screenwriter, and to all of the working girls.

Actually, Mike Nichols had to shut down a day of filming because she showed up to work high on cocaine and made her pay for the lost time wiith her own money instead of reporting her to the studio.
Umm not sure about that. Mike Nichols fined her 80,000 for getting drunk on set and screwing up production. She also had drugs delivered to set. She was a mess for decades.
She was soo beautiful, that's why Dakota is such a beautiful girl!!!

No contest here. "Bull Durham" was a perfectly dreadful movie and Sarandon's character, Annie, was not a woman, she was an embarassment. In this instance, the right woman won. It was not Susan's finest hour. "Thelma and Louise" was.
She was so adorable here.
This was a great movie, one of the best. And MG hasn't lost her charm after all these years.

She's adorable! How could she not win? The other actors Jamie Lee who was fantastic in Fish/Wanda, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, Amy Irving were all excellent. It would be very hard to pick one over the other. Such talent!

The difference between Jamie Lee Curtis and Melanie Griffith. Jamie Lee still has a career. At age 19 Curtis was doing what would become one of the most influential horror movies of all time and a cult classic while Melanie at the same age was popping pills, snorting drugs with her boyfriend and his pre-teen daughter.

Ok but you can't compare Jodie Foster and Melanie Griffith. Jodie is a significantly better actress. The only reason Melanie shone in Working Girl is because she was able to get away with talking in her own baby voice because that's what the role required.
