Laura - one caution. Rags soaked in linseed oil can spontaneously combust - the oil gets warm as it hardens in air - and a deep stack gives enough insulation to build up the heat until fire occurs. With gasoline also present that could be extra exciting.
You may want to keep used rags/scotchbright pads outside, away from anything combustible - then any fire is harmless.
I don' know how many non-farmers follow your channel but I am one of them. Love your content. Not being a farmer and being a DIY mechanical engineer (self appointed), I especially like the way you show how these implements work (boring for farmers but I really appreciate you tanking the time show walk us though how and why they work) I am amazed by the process. Please keep it up!
Us farmers don't find that boring at all we appreciate that as much as you do.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
We should never forget our history. The Old Timers had it way harder than we do. Seeing the antique machines is a treat, especially once-big name brands that disappeared years ago. Laura, Grant, Gage and the 'kids' are a delight. You all bring a much needed pleasant experience to TH-cam.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Really glad to see the video of Farm Progress Show. Glad I had opportunity to meet you there. Will see you next Wednesday at Husker Harvest Days.
You just gave me deja vu; my IRL first names are Kenneth Campbell too.
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Great video. It brings back many memories of my grandparent in Beloit KS living on a generational wheat farm. I finished growing up in West Des Moines. I graduated in 1972 when to college in Moscow Idaho for 4.5 years. Enlisted in the US Coast Guard and was stationed in Newport OR. Met my wife there. We were married after I graduated from OCS and was commissioned as an Ensign in 1978. I left active duty and we moved to the Portland OR area. I retired and we followed our three grandsons, daughter, and son in law to Texas. We have less than 4 years before our 50th anniversary. Two of my younger sisters are in Texas. My granddad used a JD 3010 gas powered tractor. When I was seven I started spending 3 weeks every summer on the wheat farm in Beloit KS. Those were magical times. So I am trying to provide magical times for my grandsons.
I miss the farm life too. It was magical back then.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘😘😘
I really enjoy seeing the old tractors, especially when they're brought back to operating and doing the farm work they were designed to do.
My grandpa owned a farm implement store in Dike Iowa. He sold Massey Harris, later to become Massey Ferguson, and he also sold Alis Chalmers. It's still exciting to see those old tractors running. The antique tractor pulls are a lot of fun too!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks For Taking Us All Along For The Farm Show! So Cool To See All The Awesome Large Tractors And Attachments!
Keep Smiling On!!
😅👍👊❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A little tip for an retired senior chemical technician. When using gloves to work with liquids fold over the cuffs on the open end of your glove. It helps keep your arms and sleaves dry from fluids that wick down the length of the gloves. Tracktor looks good, thanks for the tip.
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Thank you two ! I grew up on a large farm in California and put many miles on our Deere 4020 great tractor ! Love to see you using it ! We also had a Deere Model B not sure of the year but bailed a lot of hay with it Ha ! Great time in life !
Thanks, Laura, and Grant. Interesting video. You are so cool talking to people, it comes so easy for you. Laura Farms are adding a Corn Head to the farm, building up your farm equipment.
Stay safe all of you, love from Mike. ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Good morning from Windsor On 🇨🇦 love this channel watching a young couple farming great job Laura & Grant 👍🇨🇦 love how you guys take used equipment and repurpose on your own farm ❤️
Tractor looks good . The yellow brightened up . I did not know about the yellow .
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Awesome video! Just gotta say - next year if you plant sweet corn, plant 1 row a week for 6 weeks. That way you have fresh sweet corn for 6 weeks instead of all at once!
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Nice job!! Thanks for sharing your channel with us!! Always enjoy catching up!😊
👍👍😘😘😘😘

😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Fantastic! You're Making America Green Again!
Yes by hopefully voting for decent leaders, not Rapists, Felons, Adulterers.
I use 3m machine polish. Expensive, but it will take the oxidation off enamel paint and will have a very nice shine.
Nice to meet you Sis Laura. Wonderful sharing. I'm happy to find this channel. Watching from Indonesia 🇮🇩
My family has been into Antique Tractor shows and restoration for decades now. it's a great community to be apart of.
👍👍👍👍👍👍😘😘
It looks much better. I love the old stuff . Does not break down and good maintenance last forever
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I spent lots of summer hours sitting on the left fender watching the three point four bottom plow turning wheat stubble in western Oklahoma. Thanks for taking care of this piece of history.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Love the old Farmall’s. My dad had a couple on the farm. The more time I spend in the city, the more miss the farm life.
I love your channel. I’ve been waiting to comment until I caught up to your latest video. I really enjoy seeing all the technology that gets put to use on your farm. I remember when I was young, my uncle had a corn planter that used a roll of wire with evenly spaced knots to trigger the seed drops. The wire was on a roll and looked a lot like barbed without the barbs. He staked it down on both ends of the field to start. Then somehow the planter was hooked into the wire, and as he drove, the seeds dropped. This resulted in fields that when you drove by you could see the rows at 90° from the car window, but also see two rows at 45°. Perfectly aligned ranks of corn. Nowadays, even though your technology spaces the corn in the row, there doesn’t seem to be the alignment between rows because I never see the 45° rows as I drive by cornfields today. It always reminded me of perfect spacing in a marching band, like Pride of the Dakotas in Brookings (my Alma mater-sorry Cornhusker). Ask your parents or grandparents if they remember such machines, planting corn. Look forward to more Laura Farms.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Most of those tractors are show, yours is go! Thanks to all y'all for taking us behind the scenes!
Sorry I missed the Farm Progress Days in Iowa this year. Hopefully Grant and you will plan to attend the Badger Gas and Steam Show next summer in Baraboo Wisconsin. You can register for a merch booth, RV camping, and the show. Bring your Polaris 1500 SxS to cruise around. I know someone who has a daughter the same age as Laura who owns a 20hp Minneapolis Moline steam powered tractor who may just partner with you for a great video on fueling, starting, driving, and using the belt-driven PTO as well. The best part is camping with good people from around the world. The Aussies and the Kiwis are the best!
Cheers from and Aussie-Kiwi in New Zealand! 🤩😎🌽🚜
@@v1rotait23 awesome. Hello! :)
Sounds like an exciting day on the farm and at the show! Taking the old 4020 out must be a real treat. Wishing you a great time meeting everyone, and here’s to a big Husker win! Go Big Red! 🚜🌽🎉
Many people do not know that linseed oil comes from flax seed. Some of my Dad's extended family raised flax in the Dakotas, where my Dad grew up. My Dad's relatives always told him to be careful around flax bins--the flax seed is so oily that, if one falls into the bin, one will sink right to the bottom of it.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Seeing the tractor in action at the farm show, surrounded by other vintage models, was so cool. The shine on that chrome stack is impressive-might just win Best in Show!
You and your dad have done an amazing job resheeting. It's been a pleasure seeing those dreams of self feeders to it all coming together 👏👏👏
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I can tell you love what you do. You put yourself out there and that takes courage.
Good Sunday Morning Laura 👍🎉 , Another Beautiful Awesome Video by You !!!!! 😀👏👏
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Almost could see a smile on the old tractor after you gussied it up for the show. Nothing fells better then after you cleaned and buffed up years of work off the old tractor. The deoderant was the best touch.
My hope is one day everything lining up and being able to go to one of these farm shows, and getting to see all this equipment up close, and getting to meet Laura and Grant.
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hey Laura So cool you introduced a home-made product to sptff up the ol 4020. I thought sure you were going to promote a product. You know you and Grant are doing a fine job keeping the commercialism down to a low roar.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I regret not being able to go the Farm Progress Show this year and get the opportunity again to see and visit with you and Grant. Still planning on going to Husker Harvest Days; and will try to look you two up there. As always this was a great video; and I've been around and operated several 4020's even though I was a "red guy" who did convert to "green". My cousin sold M&W, turbochargers; and several of my neighbors with 4020's and 4010's had him install them on their tractors.
I have been to,that show. My wife’s family farmed I. Iowa for decades. We had a farm there too.
I am from india i watching your video and story on Facebook really Good and hard working farmer
Air Tractor also makes a military version of this for the Air Force, designation L3Harris OA-1K Sky Warden. Love all of your videos, Laura, and I'm excited for your next one!
I wish I could have made it out there to the FPS.
Maybe next year.
Y’all did an awesome job on that 4020, looks amazing.
Are we going to see a few more highlights from the show?
Love y’all, and love watching the new videos.
Working those guns. Shines up like an old penny. Know the tires for a good show. Have fun and be safe. 👨🌾
👍
Thank you Laura Grant and brothers great show thank you
Paint came back really well for as faded as it was. She looks great.
🎶She uses gaaaaasssssoooooline 🎶 ... Thought might needed some STP in the mix 😅
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
If you took I-80 to Iowa, you passed less than a mile from the Strategic Air and Space Museum where they have an SR-71 Blackbird on display. The plane I worked on for 4 years. If you had taken Highway 66 to Ashland, it's less than a mile up the road. It's only about 90 miles from Aurora as the crow flies.
WE LOVE LAURA, GRANT & PEPPER, ROCK ON MY FRIENDS.
Such a cool video! Gotta say, I hurt my back watching you scrub that tractor!
😁🥰😎👍A great fun show day . Thanks
Hard working folks. Keeping us going.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Electric wheel is based in Quincy, IL; 30 miles from where we live. My grandfather used to work there many decades ago. Quincy is (or was) home to many prominent companies; Electric Wheel, Titan, Knapheide, Moorman livestock feeds, Motorola, Harris Communication equipment, and many more.
❤❤❤ Beautiful work well done tractor looks brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What is not to love about your channel? I love the content so much!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Now you'll have to get to the Pennsylvania Farm Show, in January. (The food and milkshakes are awesome)
