Thank you Marty and yes the pre-planning is huge... you're only seeing the part the pilots do but there's a lot more including by the flight dispatcher who creates the flight plan, route, looks at weather en route, destination, alternate etc...
The pre planning is one of the most important thing. Even for a private pilot. Some say that crashes really begin during the preflight, because it was not well planned. And it is true. A well prepared flight is a safe flight. It is said in aviation that you must never go where you did not plan to go. It means that you must plan all possible scenarios, always taking in account the worst. Preflight and initial briefing is of a paramount importance. Every single flight begins there. Can’t wait to go back to flying with air France KLM , their business flights are just fabulous. The work before departure, taking off and landing are real efforts and we thanks the Captains and the Pilots for taking us all over the world safe and sound

Fun to watch! Very interesting behind-the-scene footage. I just came to CDG from SFO on 77 with AF 3 days ago and I am a very nervous passenger, so I was afraid to watch this video prior to my flight.
Hello again JP! Fantastic plane...with cool pilots! Interesting briefing....and a great Company! I love it! Thank you very much for filming this JP;)) Stay connected....lovely gteetings Betsy.
You are right but theyre also looking for fluid leaks and obvious damages Of course they cant spot a hairline sized crack. but a crack might increase its size during the many flight hours.
I’m not fully ok, this control correspond to a check list, which must be done, same as the checking of the ruder at 6 m high !! a very small crack could ‘t be detected and be completely distroyed during the flight I m private pilot on simple engine and the pre flight check list include a Control of the propeller, visual control,we must also pass the hand on the edges of the propeller, do you think , we can détect some thing really wrong ?
Of course but if you see an obvious dent or crack visually it would be helpful to know right away and ground the plane and bench test the engine or change it.
@@TheE71462 I preflighted a Cessna 150 . All looked fine but midflight the engine conked out. We need x-ray NDI. I never found out what went wrong but I kept pushing the on switch during glide & mayday call to radio upon return to airport. The engine kicked back on and I landed safely. Thank God. I could not see any obvious damage to possibly internal engine crack causing a failure. Some parts of flying are gambling. By the seat of our pants.
This AIR FRANCE pilot's cockpit video is worth learning English at university level or above. I use internet videos when learning English, the official language of the world. I have experience working at an airport in JAPAN. At the time when the world was becoming a hub airport, I saw pilots from North American airlines, British Airways, Air France, etc. Even after becoming a member of society, I continue to practice the four skills(Listening Speaking Writing Reading)of English. As a result of trying various things, I decided that it would be best to repeat listening many times based on Canadian English. I am conscious of being able to exchange conversations without panicking when I visit the site by repeatedly watching English lessons on the INTERNET and videos that are easy to hear and watching English demonstration sites. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨🇭🇨🇦🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨🇭🇨🇦🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨🇭✈️✈️✈️😉😎
Yes , i think that’s a man like him with his experience , can be much more relax, for the breefing with his team, so no, thats clearly show. The compartmentalization which exists in this corporation, at Air France and perhaps elsewhere, the captains and the copi are there to pilot this machine, that it is present in the event of problem and it is all, the remainder it is of blabla
Thank you for showing us what goes on before take off. As a result of this pre-planning air travel has become the safest mode of transport. I recently came across James Asquith's review of Air France, it was quite funny...

Hi! a very basic question, sorry for my ignorance, how do you move the plane from boarding to the head of the runway? do you have electric motors for that? Thank you very much for the videos, I always watch them and I like them a lot! Greetings from Argentina
Hi Carlos ! First don't be sorry, as humans we're not supposed to know everything. To answer your question the plane is first pushbacked from the apron (where the airplane is parked) to the taxiway by a tow tractor. During this procedure the pilots switch the engines ON and use them to taxi to the runway. By the way electric motors exist ( Electric Green Taxiing System or "EGTS") and have for purpose to avoid the use of engines while on the ground. The EGTS has been created to reduce carbon dioxyde emissions but hasn't been implemented due to the too high investment costs. Hope that I could answer your question clearly. Cheers ! :)
I hope it wasn't the 777-238 I watched today that took off to Douala, but then turned back and landed at CDG with a 7700 squawk. We could be waiting a while.....
I am completely shocked with the English level of those French Captains... Except technical terms, most of students are more reliable after learning 2 years this tongue. it is distressing. I quit
Remember this is from 2013. I've had two surprise OS upgrades to my laptop after it came back from computer shop repairs. I finally got Windows 10 almost four months ago and now couldn't easily readjust to either older OS.
How can the English of people who have the privilege to travel be so approximative and hesitant? Coming from Paris ghetto slums and not having access to these spheres I'm a bit surprised. In Paris with my skin tone I'm not allowed any hesitation even in lower occupations. Still a good video though.
English is a tough language for some Europeans to learn, especially beyond a certain school age, plus there is the additional problem of not receiving the proper coaching for correct pronunciations. Sounds are somewhat poorly approximated and the wrong syllable stressed, so deciphering sentences are at times a challenge and similar to solving a puzzle. Also, some have no enthusiasm to learn a particular language but must do so anyway for their profession and the resistance shows.
@@msr1116 the rule changed , you must clearly be able to call ATC or be able to understand an information , when your reach an airport, please trust me, I’m private pilot and my English is checked

I'm wondering what is the point of checking the engine blades visually?
It would be impossible to see any potential crack from that distance
