- Does consciousness affect the physical world? Dr. Dean Radin discusses the Global Consciousness Project, the quantum nature of the mind, and key experimental goals for the upcoming GCP 2.0 network.
Dr. Dean Radin, Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, Associated Distinguished Professor of Integral and Transpersonal Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies, and co-founder and Chairman of the Board at the genetic neuroengineering company, Cognigenics.
Dr. Radin has given over 700 talks and interviews worldwide, and is author or coauthor of hundreds of scientific and popular articles, four dozen book chapters, two technical books, and four popular books translated into 15 foreign languages. Over 200,000 copies of those books have been sold, so far.
Dr. Radin has an MS in electrical engineering and a PhD in psychology from the University of Illinois, and a BS in electrical engineering with honors in physics from the University of Massachusetts. He has served on many dissertation committees, was elected President of the Parapsychological Association -- an elected affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Science -- and is an associate editor for the journal Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing.

Dean Radin is one the most beautiful minds to ever contemplate and scrutinize the mystery of consciousness. An absolute bad ass scientist and an amazing human being who is doing absolutely incredible work in this field. Great interview!
I woke up on September 11th 2001 and had a very strong feeling something was wrong and millions of people were all looking at an event. It was my day off at a new job. 20 years old staying with my grandparents. I never usually turned on the TV before breakfast, but I immediately tuned to CNN to see the NY towers. Went upstairs and alerted grandparents who were unawares. This is how I know telepathy is real, but most people refuse to believe. IONS is doing great work. Thanks Tim & Dean 🎉
I love that Dean does a ton of interviews and podcasts but I really wish more of them were with skeptics and were more like debates. These are all just preaching to the choir!

This is amazing to find! I had first read about the Global Consciousness Project in the early 2000s, and it's so good to see Dr Radin and that GCP is still going strong and starting into 2.0. I knew it as the Egg Project back then.

Amazing podcast Tim. I look forward to this podcast in time becoming huge. You would also be absolutely brilliant at hosting scientific debates. This is the one thing missing in the Zeitgeist currently. Personally I'd love to see Stuart Hamerof and dean radin (particularly as some of Stuart's theories are being tested currently). Irrespective you have a fan here.

I think Tom Campbell has the best explanation for the quantum measurement / observer effect " problem"...many things point to this reality being a virtual reality / simulation. In his model the virtual reality exists only in the minds of the players, so the only way a "particle" can manifest into this reality is through the mind of said player, through the observation. Otherwise it remains just a probability distribution and has no actual existence. Food for thought

Are you incorporating earth's magnetic field status, moon cycle, solar cycle and stars in the sky at the time that may have slight radiation causing the mass effect? Would be similar to the bird eye compass
Are they possibly not psychic phenomenon but some cycle that causes the effect. Small portions I am sure would actually enact a event.

Is the firmware of the random generator open source? So it is possible to check and proof if this firmware generates a shaped (predefined, modulated) "signal" based on the incoming message by the internet.
I very much wish IONS had not done the disservice of ending their open blog venue of several years ago. It was sparky and sometimes divisive but also allowed views not censored by other media, now it regurgitates what is already known and credentialed. Safe but boring and doesn't serve what's really needed...inclusion.
