Thanks it's been a lovely birthday. My sister really enjoyed the trip to the Savoy Hotel too. I hope you had an amazing New Year?! Having my birthday on New Year's Day can be a pain but it've lovely to spend time with my family.
Thanks it was a really lovely day to spend with my sister. I quite like relaxing music so like to incorporate that at times in some of my videos. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
@@josatkin 👍. I've enjoyed all of your videos. I forgot to mention that the egg with truffle sandwiches popular in afternoon tea has inspired me to create the same at home. All good 🤩.
I did not know it was your birthday, I am sure you and your sister enjoyed a well-deserved, delicious tea at the Savoy. The place looks magnificent and so did everything they served you. Having said that, I still believe that F&M´s afternoon tea is unbeatable (I am saying this based on what I have watched; unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to enjoy such an experience when I was last in the UK) Cheers and a Happy New Year to you both. 😁
F&M Royal Exchange was quite a surprise as how affordable it was compared to going to F&M Piccadilly store and the service was excellent. The manager was really helpful and even highlighted that you can get 10% off in F&M Royal Exchange store if you show your afternoon tea receipt so if you like to shop at F&M it's a nice little discount. I have quite a few other afternoon teas that need to be edited and more booked to try out around the world in 2024 so lots of scones to be had 🤗😋 I hope you have an amazing 2024!
@jocelyncash2013 I’ve done the Harrods afternoon tea - that’s also on my afternoon tea playlist but as much as I love Harrods I don’t hugely like where they’ve positioned it in the building.
@@josatkin Absolutely. Just finished watching 'My Fair Lady' learning all my P's & F's I meant Q's. One has to be on ones best behaviour. And small bites. Keep making these vids and I'm learning 😊😋
I think it really depends on what you want from an afternoon tea and who you're going with and if it's a celebration. For me it's not just about the food but about the service, the consistency, the environment and also the cost.
What would you consider to be your favorite Afternoon Tea? I’ll be in London this August to celebrate my mother and aunt’s joint birthdays and I want to treat them. Looking for great atmosphere and delicious food.
That is something I get asked a lot. It depends on who you go with, if it's a special occasion and what your budget is. I really liked the chic vibe of Ritz Paris and they had the best selection of jams to date. It had a very elegant vibe and such a treat if you go to Paris. If you prefer somewhere with lots of history and a not rushed vibe so you can relax and take your time I think the Savoy is lovely. The staff are so attentive and consistent as I've been many times. They don't rush you and it's nice and open and airy in the room the afternoon teas are held. Also the tables are not right next to you so it's more spacious unlike The Ritz. I would say that if you want unique flavour combinations then The Savoy would not be the best as they follow quite a traditional flavour combination of fillings. I hope you had a lovely time in London in August. Let me know where you go and what you think? 🤗
I find the taste of the clotted cream is the same - but I do find the quantity of it and how firm or soft it is does vary.I did really like the Burley House scones as they were very flavoursome. In general I don't like huge scones though especially in an afternoon tea as they can be very filling. Warm scones, crisp on the outside and moist in the inside is a must though. Thanks for watching the video and supporting my channel 🤗
Omg please do yourself a favour and look up some etiquette training. Unless you think in a place like the Savoy, the height of elegance and refinery, it's attractive to pick up a whole finger sandwich and wave it about while talking to the camera.

@@susanhayward2063 great idea. I make my own truffle butter using black perigord truffles and I freeze the butter so it can last a while. 😋

Only thing missing are the Savoy Hotel Orpheans
In your opinion, which place has the best scones and does the clotted cream differ much from venue to venue?
