    How did his motor freeze up from water? I got mine fully submerged inside and never had a problem with anything, and I had to cast my fishing pole and catch the back of the boat to reel it in. I had no problem and still don’t have a problem to this day with it turning on or anything it works just fine and I have cut my foot on them.
    Adjustable trim tabs with the silver on it and it hurt like a son of a gun and I was bleeding from slicing my foot by accidentally stepping on it.

      This is my buddies boat that I upgraded for him. He submerged when it was brand new and left it sitting for months without drying it out. I was just glad I was able to save it.

    WAIT....your steering is backwards!!! I just bought this exact boat and color. It has all the upgrades you show already and has never been used. It will be here in 48 hours and counting each minute. Thanks for the cool videos! New SUB.

    Offshore electric has some foam gasket tape you can use around the canopy that will help keep a lot of water out. I would suggest getting some canopy retention tape to help not only keep out water, but give you some more peace of mind at high speed running. Loosing a canopy sucks. Great looking boat. Offshore electric also has some large diameter cooling lines in some awesome colors! The tubing really helped keep my Sonicwake cool. The next thing I would humbly suggest would be converting to a 3/16 flex shaft. It will really open up your availability for different props, again available at OSE. Cheers from Texas

    I noticed the rudder you installed on the Spartan is actually for the DCB M41 boat. That's why the extra length for it. How did this perform on the Spartan? Great Video - thanks !!!

    hi. greate video...i.just bought mine and all these upgrades...question : does the water come inside the hull without using tape ? just closing it with the back clip. thanks.

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and yes you will want to use waterproof tape on the lid. And try not to reverse unless you have to. It seems to get water in from the rear of the lid even when using tape.

    • @nwirc

      @@eduardonessim4499 It doesn't take in that much water at all after taping. Just be sure to recover it right away if the boat flips upsidedown.

    Very good video! I’m actually about to do all of these upgrades on this exact boat and was looking for a video just like this. I hope your able to do part 2 and show the install of the dual water outlet and hose lines. Such a hard looking boat! Great job :) one question.. why the change of servo? Was the stock Traxxas servo damaged or not strong enough?

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be working on part 2 this weekend but probably won't publish for 3 week do to other videos being scheduled.. My friend Jon had gotten water into this boat and he never dried it out. The water damaged the stock servo and the motor bearings.. I'm sure a stock Traxxas servo would work fine but he wanted to upgrade it.. Part 3 will be the running video but need to wait for the weather to cooperate.. Thanks

    • @jasondizzwalker7535
      @jasondizzwalker7535 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nwirc gotcha! Yeah I figured the stock servo was sufficient but also considered going with a Savox waterproof monster like I have in my Blackfoot. I love them! I was also considering doing the rest of the Hot Racing upgrades as well but can’t find the battery coolers anywhere other than China… so yeah screw that I will wait till they become available in the states again. With the dual water intake I was wondering if you were gonna do the hose ferrels that are available or just gonna run the extra tube into the boat through the basic hole you drill? Anyways very thorough video and very precise work done! This is the way you work on RC vehicles people!

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasondizzwalker7535 I'll have to let Jon know about the battery coolers.. I know he'll wait for them to come available in the US too.. I'm going with blue hose ferrules.. The plan is I'm going to drill the stock hole and drill a new hole. I'm also going to use a tap and thread both holes. I need to find that tap and hoping it's available at my local hardware store.. Otherwise I may just drill a second hole and run them like stock for now. I can always thread the holes later..

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoostedFilms Sorry about the jump cut. There was a little notch that was cut out on the right trim tap from HR.. I couldn't get the left side to work on the right. Do you have all HR upgrades on the back of your boat like this one..? Or look at one of your HR trim taps and see if it knotched out on one of them.

    • @RoostedFilms
      @RoostedFilms 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nwirc So far I only have the trim tabs and steering fins. Negative on a botched out part but the top corners on both tabs are cut at a 45° angle. The tab is basically touching the rudder mount. It's a tight fit bit it all just clears. Maybe they changed the design of the part ? Anyway thanks for the info amd sweet build man 👍🏻
