You did an awesome job introducing and covering this "project"! I've been looking into sketchy games for a while but TWS and its executives are by far the worst I've ever come across. It's not just the fact that they don't have a game and are lacking the capabilities to build one. This "development team" even resorts to tactics that are borderline criminal. I've been covering this for a year now and been stalked, raided, harassed, impersonated and they repeatedly attempted to take down my small channel with weaponized reports. I've not only received violent threats and death wishes, but the "CEO" and "VP" of the project even went as far as attempting to harass, locate and dox my wife. It's easily the wildest ride I've ever been on. Happy to see this get some traction and hoping this will help to take down this scam for good. Please keep up the good work man, you can be proud of what you're doing here!
Bonzo, I could not have made this video without your help. Your forethought to catalog and archive all of the early TWS development allowed me to both understand what had happened and share that with everyone. I am sure that your efforts will save many future gamers their money and perhaps prevent more government oversight with military spending.. Cheers!
@@g0atmoth It seems to me like this guy in their team that is learning the Unreal engine (and bought the T-45 exterior) is being manipulated. He looks honest and try to pull the handbrake on this project... Maybe he made some promises he shouldn't have done to this dumb ass of "CEO", or maybe he's under contract? I don't know, how is he still working for this fake guru?! He's wasting his time and money on a sinking ship while he could spend his precious time making smaller games that people would really enjoy playing. That's pretty sad.
I am waiting for Bonzo to comment! I have a feeling this will be an ongoing investigation. Check back for his comment and more updates on the situation as this all unfolds.
If Ali wins a contract with false information he will likely face a fraud charge. Especially if he wins it against another company and they contest the contract win.
TWS actually went under a rebrand it was track while scam, sorry scan, and had the official DOD, US army and US airforce logos on their website, but after the rebrand they disappeared so it looks like they got served and rebranded the scam to avoid it
That's how it works. I live near DC and it's everywhere. Scammy startups and entrepreneurs just trying to get a slice of the infinite money DOD machine.
Ryan Cohen was on my 2nd naval deployment in charge of our marine expeditionary unit. whenever he would come on the intercom, the whole ship would stop and listen because he literally sounded like a professional voice actor. People would act as if Leonidas himself was on our intercom. Screaming about the decks "For Sparta!"
"Dude, learning visual studio has been a nightmare" is not a good answer to give when asked a specific question about your engine. That's like a doctor being asked about a procedure they claim to be able to perform and answering "dude, these medical journals are hard to read". Wow. Just. Wow.
I'm no expert at programming. I've done a bunch of it, all of it around embedded software because of my electrical engineering degree. I heard that and I was like "whaaaa?". Like are you fucking kidding me? You're the business person, and somehow you're also touching and are confused by vscode? Not git, not modeling software for your terrain and your assets, not your engine tools, fucking vscode? It's even worse than your doctor example. It's like having your engine swapped and the mechanic goes "those jacks stands sure are confusing". The task at hand is MULTIPLE orders of magnitude more complex than you're having trouble with. Wtf is wrong with you?
I mean it. It's hard to emphasize just how absurd this is. This is a tool you should have 5 or 10 years experience before even considering starting this project. The most damning part is that he doesn't even know enough to realize just how shocking that statement is for the developers listening to that call.
Underrated comment. "My bread and butter in life is being a charismatic huckster. To wow some fools into buying my snake oil and disappearing before they are the wiser. Hm...who shall I scam today? I know! I will prey on specialized consumers famous for their deep product knowledge. No other EnTrEpeNeUr has thought of this! I'll corner the market!"
seriously. like you guys think we wont notice this shit when we literally learn how to fly 1:1 recreated fighters in a sim? with 500+ page manuals? fuck outta here
The fact he implicated Hasard Lee was a bad move. If Hasard Lee finds out that Ali was asking people who might have Classified Documents to the F-35, To contact his team. is enough to get him or any company he is involved with instantly disqualified from DOD contracts.
@@angry_z_rider4275 You mean when stuff, that is no longer in use for multiple decades, get De-Classified? That's so much different from leaking documents for military equipment that is in use right now! World of Tanks was even asked the pull out detail from some of the tanks, as those details were obtained from classified documents.. we are lucky the gae still exists. But even then discords like "Thug Shaker Central" are all over the place. (Thats was a news story once)
@@angry_z_rider4275 what? there's no such thing as "constant controlled leaks"... There are people with enough authority such as the president which can declassify things entirely to inform the public about, and then there is the normal declassification process over time. No if, no buts, and no way around it unless someone breaks a VERY strict set of laws. And yes, a company can lose their ability to apply, bid, and win contracts for even asking for classified documents.
Ali calling for people to contact his team for classified information just because a guy had a clearance should result in everyone on that team and whoever they work with be investigated immediately. The actual hell is this madness.
in top secret clearances, you genrally only get the infromation relevent to your job. VERY few people will have all access pass to all top secret information, likely only high ranking generals and the head of country
Good job on your digging. Worked DoD/DHS myself and yeah that call out on TS is terrifying to me. I am a network engineer so the technical details matter a ton on these things. Always ask about infrastructure to know just how well thought out a project is. IF they can't give you any details its a red flag to me. Say you are running in AWS or something. Say you are running in a colo. Something barebones as that and then we can even dig deeper to confirm the details on our side. The internet only has so much address space so if they are running in a Colo / not in the cloud they very likely have to own some amount of addresses at minimum which you can see through ARIN / APNIC other registries. Look through BGP to see if they have an ASN (Autonomous System Number) assigned to their company name. Do they own their own Domain name. So many variables. I am happy to help you out in digging for certain things G0at, if you ever have networking questions as well I am always willing to lend a hand.
He's seems dumb enough trying to scam the US government. I hope the US government comes down on him like a ton of bricks and he ends up in prison for years.
He picked the wrong community. Most flight simmers are pretty nerdy. There's a lot of programmers and PC savvy guys that play, Id say the majority. Getting some of the weird peripherals to work in these games takes some knowledge, and fiddling. Which seems like more experience than this dude has. Then there are actual military that play. The whole thing about leaking secret info blew my mind. I know children that know more about it than he does. Then, there's the problem with trying to scam someone that's already seen similar scams. I feel bad for anyone he's scammed. They apparently don't know what they're getting in to
People will continue to scam like this as long as there are suckers in the world. Personally I'm blown away that so many people have Patreon backers that pay the bills. It makes me feel like I could start one and get backers to pay my light bill.
You have absolutely nailed the pivot into the journalistic videos.Comfortably onto my list of creators I make a mental note to watch the vid when I have time.
I have seen this project and at first I thought "Wow, looks interesting", but then I looked at their pricing, and that instantly made me think "That has got to be a scam. No way they are gonna charge THAT much money for something that might not even be released. I looked deeper into the DCS reddit and turned out that the trailer used asset flip. Glad that this video brings to light the scam and it is so stupid that the guy tried to sue you because you were telling the truth. Once again, thank you for bringing this scam to light.
As I get older I found I’ve been losing my passion for gaming, yet I’ve been building my love for video game industry drama. My moms old soap operas make more sense every day with age.
Yeah I noticed that too, though for me it already started in my twenties (though I also started aggressively losing hair before 20 so maybe I just age faster all around :| ) Edit: managed to make the same typo twice
I lost my passion for fast paced games like shooters games but I do still play MSFS and Cities Skylines. I like slower paced games that require skill and or strategy. I feel it helps to exercise my mind.
I knew im old now when i started liking slice of life anime. "Whats this? Im enjoying an anime that doesnt have endorphine pumping explosions and big anime girl titties!?".
As soon as he started talking about the F-35 and it’s “available data” and asking people for classified info, he instantly dug his grave with this project
also, this is exactly how celebrities get caught up in illegal activities and fraud.. they throw money at some scam, take a percentage in equity, and ignore it hoping for a payout one day.. and end up being legally viable in illicit illegal activities.
"Learning visual studio was a nightmare" This sounds like asking your architecht "how do you plan to build my house" and he comes back at you with "you know, learning how to draw was really hard!"
Not to mention it’s not a particularly complicated IDE, it has a lot of capabilities but you can easily do the basics like setting breakpoints and what not intuitively... It even has one of the easiest plugin managers I've seen
Oh man! When he got to the "top secret" part... I just lost my sh*t! Just because you have a "top secret" with one organization, it doesn't mean that you can share highly sensitive military weapon information from other others, all for a "game"!!! This guy needs to be monitored.
Really defeats the purpose of TS/SCI if you can just "filter it through my friend he was clearance so we're good". To suggest that was rediculous and really shows a lack of understanding and judgement.
Anyone with a TS would never say something like he did. Nor would his company be allowed to have a SCIF and TS access. You cannot just get a TS clearance because you want one. Unless and until his company was under contract for classified work, he and his team could not get nor maintain such a clearance. As it is, he has stupidly painted a very large target on his back for the FBI.
It might surprise you, but coding and visual studio aren't exactly the same. They do the same thing, but how you do those things is completely different.
Using a new IDE vs knowing how to code are 2 seperate things. Sure it's like painting apps like going from Krita to Photoshop but their environtments are vastly different. So that comment could still make sense.
@@Gustav_Kuriga IDK if you're a programmer who's claiming to be a semi finalist in a coding competition, coding is not the only computer skill you have, especially if you're designing a game.
@Electronica27 IDK why you're telling me that, but you're clearly not getting the issue with the original post. Especially considering if you're using visual studio you're already coding anyways, so your "need different skills" isn't relevant. You probably don't know the difference between Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code without looking it up.

Id like to add something to using real war footage of us in video games. Im a former US Army infantryman. Ive deployed to combat, ive worked with CJSOTF (combined joint special operations task force) in Afghanistan, and ive lost quite a few friends. I can see from a civilians perspective that using us as marketing material for a game can be pretty lousy...but in reality? Its kind of an honor to the friends ive lost. It tells their story. It shows war is hell. And civilians need to understand this...we know exactly what we signed up for. We are literally asked before signing our contracts before entering service "Do you understand you may die in the line of duty for your country?" And to finalize that contract...the answer must be - "yes." We know we may die. Believe it or not, alot of us accept death when we went to combat, especially the more you saw it. You start to make friends with it, you become less and less afraid of it. We want our stories told. I remember this was a thing with "Six Days in Fallujah"....tell the story of those men. Its a new form of rememberance. How many games are there of D-Day? I loved playing those D-Day missions in Medal of Honor and call of duty because i knew what i was basically re-enacting really happened and im seeing it in a first person view and it let reality sink in that this was fucking real. It made me respect those men, honor those men....and remember those men. I just want any dev who sees this comment to think that. I would still kindly ask if you would reach out and still ask if its ok because not every combat vet may feel the way I do but I know the boys i served with do...but not all of us are alike. But generally, we welcome it.
@@smorgasborgas ; F-15C has ground capabilities, look at the manual. They were just never wired for it in squadrons. What the F-15E has is the strike capability with targeting systems. That and the E specific CFTs are the big difference.
This might not get seen but as a WAR squadron member (Ali’s DCS squad) I used to be pretty close with a lot of these guys and everything listed here is absolutely correct and I’m glad that it’s coming to light. No hate to any of the WAR guys, I think that they’re good people but this entire project has been sketchy from the start. I’m a big flight sim guy and companies like ED and Razbam (making F15E) take years and sometimes half a decade for one module, it’s so dishonest to market this as “progress.”
Are they called WAR on warthunder? I have seen a clan by that name a few months ago, just like to know if they are or not associated with the same from DCS (some of the WAR group on warthunder put some money in the game to get things that only money buys)
@rockcrystal3277 if he is a character being played, I can't see how it benefits any foreign power. The DoD would instantly disqualify a pathalogically lying fool like Ali.
I think you really hit the nail on the head with Ali's insecurity. Definitively part of the recent group of people who call themselves "Entrepreneur" and "Hustle culture", gassing themselves up to an incredible amount to other people who do the same thing, creating this massive sphere of influence that only exists so long as no one asks questions or check each other out. We've all met or seen someone who have "2-4" companies of whom they're the only employee trying to convince everyone they're a big deal. And the "Incredible C developer" making mobile apps as a reference for experience creating Unreal Engine components and systems. Holy Shit.
Every single one of these people are the exact same and it's mind blowing. I used to work for a company called PinkEnergy, (formerly PowerHome Solar) and the CEO is almost identical. To this day the CEO boasts on LinkedIn about being such a great entrepreneur starting 2 "successful' businesses (that BOTH went out of business based off his own faults)and sells classes on entrepreneurism. It's absolutely insane how these people get away with blatantly shady stuff so frequently, from NFT/crypto scams, stock/investment, contracting scams etc. Lying to customers and investors with metaphorical statements with very very little credibility and legitness, any faults are "not mine, it was this person/company or our 'malicious representatives' that they hired themselves. Using very vague and odd associations that have no real impact and most likely aren't even legit. One more funny thing is in this video, Ali manipulating older people, older business people, to try and invest in something that literally just wont even happen, just like Powerhome would very frequently call older people to buy solar based off their scammy model and "data to save money." Old people are always at the shit end of the stick for scams and they're extremely targeted by predatorial advertisement models from shady companies. Every single side hustler, entrepreneur you name it does that same stuff. It's such a uniform and consistent problem that hasn't been solved yet and it blows my mind
@@KrummLuck Had similar experience with "Astron Aerospace", CEO is taking 180k+ a year from rich investors, has 5 or 6 companies behind him that he founded, all "successful" (only one is still alive and struggling deeply at that). I also came from WWIIOL and miss that game dearly, it's a shame that nothing has come close to that. Have been basically chasing that high since that game crumbled. This is incredible work. As a person who works with the government, I'm not at all shocked a scammer might manage to scam the government out of money, but I think he may find the reality of DoD contracts is that the failure to deliver can come with consequences.
It's kinda scary how he is still roaming free, posting regularly, business as usual, after openly talking about commiting ITAR violations to get data for his scam...
" failure to deliver can come with consequences." Unless you're working for q government approved government contractor that was never expected to deliver anything in the first place.
"Remember, at the end of the day, we all want the same thing." LOL!! Another great video. Thanks for all your hard work and information. As a combat vet, I'll do what I can to dive further into information to help expose the people that could care less about the soldiers they used for "marketing" and steal from the gaming community. I'm here when you need it bud.
This is scary stuff here. They're actually trying to get a DoD contract. Got to be the dumbest thing they can possibly try and go after given their total lack of ability to produce anything. And I'm surprised some of their activities haven't already landed them into hot water with the law already. Awesome work to g0at and Bonzo.
Just taking a step back, if he could deliver on his promises, what would the military want from it? It would be a really cool thing, if it were practical. And i can see it being am awesome consumer product. But it seems to be in a spot the military doesnt really need. For large scale battle similations, there are going to be larger and more capable for senior officer control etc. For tank / aircraft simulatora, the military's are going to be far more capable. It seems like the main goal would be to orovide some interaction between those two elements, but then your svale/control will be insufficient at the top levels and simulators not sufficient at the lower levels. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, this would never be mainstream enough for a recruitment/propaganda tool like America'a Army was.
Dude literally talked about commiting ITAR violations, to gather data for his scam... How he isn't held somewhere for questioning at the moment, is beyond me...
Hoping someone tagged the DoD or FBI to have this "entrepreneur" on a watchlist cos Holy hell....the classified doc thing he said was crazy bad...like hey send us claasified stuff that we'll than illegally distribute and make public in our game.
What TWS claims to do is something that took Bohemia Interactive Simulations (not the guys that did ArmA btw.) 5+ years and a team of >200 people to develop VBS4. And they're a seasoned developer with a bunch of well paying government contracts. The idea that a small indy-studio could just come around the corner and rival that is lauthable.

As a hardcore DCS player and real world pilot, it’s cool to see someone talk about the game that is so important to me, and seeing his reaction to it is brilliant.
The fact that Ali has been so active on discord, not just in their own server is crazy to me. He's out there spinning his tale, and creating scenarios where he has to defend himself with more and more lies, all for no reason. Genuinely looking forward to seeing how this all plays out
Hahaha yes! Love seeing this whole situation getting more exposure, and well researched and presented too! I was in there for the Q&A and watched them completely mismanage their discord, website, and everything. They plastered logos all over their website from companies without their permission, including epic games, steam, windows, and several software tools. They demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge about anything they were talking about- that whole classified documents thing is just one example. Luckily they kinda faded away because almost everyone was smart enough to see through their lies. Fascinating to see the behind the scenes stuff with their internal meetings and Ali's horrible attitude!
>They plastered logos all over their website from companies without their permission, including epic games, steam, windows, and several software tools I'm sorry, but this is standard. It's one thing to claim support from specific people or companies, but listing tools that you are legally using on your software is totally normal

Jabbers is a stone cold bada$$ video game interviewer. I had never heard of him before but wow he knows his stuff. He asked all the right questions and he knew what UE5 can and cannot do down to some finer details. I've been using Unreal since 2012 (UDK, UE4, and 5) and I'm really impressed
Appreciate your coverage of this guy. Please continue to expose him the military doesn't need another half assed war, land, net trainer. They have those already and they are buggy as hell, don't need one programmed in a half baked unreal engine.
I’ve discovered my new guilty pleasure is investigative gaming journalism. Excellent video, subbing and looking forward to whatever else you got cooking up
I'm glad to be here before the video blows up. I used to play on an Arma 3 server Ali hosted way back in 2016-2019 first called "Viper 6", then "Whiskey Alpha Tango" or "WAR", and boy let me tell you, as someone who knew this guy for so long, none of this surprises me in the slightest. Ali's "methodology" to running an Arma server was to cram as many mods onto it as he could, hoping they would work and wouldn't crash every five minutes since he never bothered configuring any modules in the mission editor. Near the end, it required downloading nearly 50 to 60 gigs if you wanted to join. When it got to the point where the server literally couldn't accept any more mods, he resorted to making "packs" that contained mods from other authors, uncredited, just so he could have a Lamborghini or bullet casing all over the ground. The creators of RHS ended up issuing him a takedown notice and a cease and desist over the use of RHS in his pack, and everyone finally got sick of him and left to join their own groups as he left his server to die, with maybe two or three people sticking around. The guy is a complete egomaniac obsessed with "realism" and the military in all the worst ways.
We've been calling this Track While Scam for years. Thanks for covering this. I was really excited back when Ali was trying to hype Sharebert as DCS World's entry into the pro gaming market, which obviously went nowhere because DCS World is not much of a spectator sport unless you're REALLY into air combat, and because he likely never had any real connections to the pro gaming circuit anyway. This was before any of the Track While Scam nonsense.
I would love to see a follow up to this video. This is a very interesting story to keep tabs on. Also, Drewski is no fool, he saw the scam just as fast as he spots the enemy in game.
It made me laugh when Battlefield was brought up, because not only do they have a massive team, even with that team they still manage to release a terrible product and have done so since BF4.
Im glad I stuck around after your departure from Tarkov. I knew there was something special with you and I have not been disappointed. Keep up the good work, dude!
Don't have any doubts about any of the video, but at about 15:00 it talks about nanite and this is actual possible. Nanite doesn't support deformation, so character animations where the body distorts around joints is impossible. However, rigid animation with separate pieces is possible which is good for robots and tanks with fixed joints. The valley of nanite (I think is the name) demo does this with a massive robot at the end. Again, doesn't take away from how scummy this scam is, just thought I'd clarify the one thing I have knowledge about.
Very impressive video. I believe you have the talent to become extremely successful with this kind of format. The pacing and delivery of the video was on point and kept me very interested for the whole duration. Hella good job!

@@angry_z_rider4275 what? there's no such thing as "constant controlled leaks"... There are people with enough authority such as the president which can declassify things entirely to inform the public about, and then there is the normal declassification process over time.

"just send top secret information to one of our guys with top secret clearence" 😂👌
Over Discord 😩😩😩
3:17 looks an awfull lot like squad with the brightness turned up, the explosion you see in the distance creates an effect 1-1 as squad
You handled the no show call very well, great articulation
Played 1.6 with this guy in '07/08. Been a sub since 10K. Great videos dude! Love your stuff. Glad you're doing well! ~Kspree
Don't tell anyone how bad I was ! :)
I would love to see a follow up to this video. This is a very interesting story to keep tabs on.
Also, Drewski is no fool, he saw the scam just as fast as he spots the enemy in game.
gotta love our nvg obssessed boyo drewski
Stopping a new Chronicles of Elyria before it takes off. Good job, G0at! Thanks for helping the gaming community (again.)
the defination of fake it till you make it, over the backs of other people.
It made me laugh when Battlefield was brought up, because not only do they have a massive team, even with that team they still manage to release a terrible product and have done so since BF4.
Been playing dcs for many years. I cannot express how much I was smiling when I heard jabbers voice.
As a game developer, when he said he dropped 8000 of the same tank into a scene in UE to stress test, I cringed so hard.
That top secret fail bro... I still cant comprehend it
Your content and journalism is just so addicting to watch! Definitely here for it!
This video taught me about video game development and government contracts, amazing content as always g0at!
Very impressive video. I believe you have the talent to become extremely successful with this kind of format. The pacing and delivery of the video was on point and kept me very interested for the whole duration. Hella good job!
Thank you sir, i'm getting beaten up by all these scammer entrepreneur
okay. So this is a fucking wild video.
Great investigation man.
I was not expecting this guy to straight up ask people with clearances to give him information.
im just getting to the Bo dude now. holy shit lmao.
Goat is not the hero we asked for, he's the hero we deserve.
Idk if we deserve him, but we got him and its such a good thing
One of my favorite all time videos used to be Dave, Vinny and Drew messing around with DCS combat sims.
Wasn't often but was AWESOME.
Great video, its nice to see some one actively in the community exposing these people and putting them to shame! Can't wait to see more!
So the f-15c is the fighter variant and it has one pilot where the f-15e is the ground attack variant and has a pilot and a radar operater/ rear officer
great job on the story I also just finished my journalist abma level 4 from London.. inspiring
When I hear Ali Mahvan saying "I'm a Businessman", I already know that for sure he "worked" with web3 and now are trying something that in his mind will be profitable
When someone says they are a "businessman", all I hear is I am not actually a businessman because i really dont know anything about anything, but I am into making money from nothing by any means necessary.
@neokp369 so ... a businessman? Lmao
@@awsome650More like a pretender
To be fair, years ago my buddy got DCS A-10 with the full manual and HOTAS setup, I got up and airborne from his pointers, then promptly pulled the levers for the engine extinguishers and somehow managed to crash land with barely any control, and man, I'll almost always remember that because when I started up I joked "Bah I probably won't even get off the ground"
Man I really wanna do that
There is such a thing as a blacklist in government contracting circles. This company just might be on it soon
What flow chart ends with "Let's scam the hardcore flight sim community!"
@22:58 LOL at the scaled up Jersey barriers acting as walls
Extremely interesting video. The part at the end where you pledge to buy the 3000 warplane if he delivers made me chuckle.
