I was team blue pop until you put the Vitty green up against the walls of the château, and then I saw what you saw. The way it compliments the nuances of the wall colors, and allows the plants to shine, it is a really good choice, that Samantha knows what she's doing! Thank you for another wonderful video.
Julia, you are always impeccably dressed!!! We share the same approach to dressing smart: timeless pieces, 'neutral' enough to be combined in many ways, comfortable yet elegant. I discovered you via Stephanie Jarvis's vlogs, and I am so impressed by the relentless efforts you and Caroline put into renovating the château with historical accuracy, taste, elegance but also practical for your retreats: you definitely are a wonderful couple and dream team! Kuddos also to your parents and sister for embarking onto this very demanding and wonderful adventure with you !!! You now have a new follower in this French woman who has lived in England, Indonesia and now Germany and has always loved history and beauty in all its forms. PS: the vitty-green color for the shutters is definitely a winner!!
I love the new shutter colour. The blue shouts whereas the soft green/sage sings in harmony with the rest of the exterior. Thank you for showing us your visit to F and B. Good luck with the preparations for the new season.
Aside from the astonishingly beautiful chateau and grounds- I continue to be so impressed by your methodical and considered steps towards your renovations. I have so much respect for the way you are thinking everything through with so much respect for your stunning home. Nothing is slapdash or a quick fix. You have very creative insights that are paired with intelligence and planning. I truly look forward to your vlogs. You've really raised the bar for other chateau owners and influencers. Thank you!
⭐️ Intelligent, eloquent , attuned to history , art , architecture & timeless beauty …..what an extraordinary group of talented people . This beautiful , elegant chateau must sigh with joy knowing her legacy has been entrusted into the safe respectful hands of this wonderful troupe of visionaries . True custodianship
Your Maman has got a big heart, a beautiful and kind heart. It comes through when she talks to you and to us, at the end of the video. She values the people who have played (past and present) a role in her life. She is the glue that holds everything together …. Which is the true role of a mother.
The green for the shutters is beautiful and as you said complements the stone of the Chateau.Watching the other room renovations will be exciting to see come to life.
Don’t listen to the haters, the green is so much more elegant! I think some viewers may like the blue because it pops on camera, but I could see it being way too overwhelming in person and incongruous with the rest of the facade. Also, once again, y’all are proving to be the most well-organized group in the Chateauverse. Your professionalism is really starting to pay off! I love how you are not afraid to employ experts to help you through some of the decision-making, even when you feel confident in your own skills. You just have to if you want a big project to move forward!
Being an architect and historic preservationist, I used Farrow & Ball paint in all of my personal houses in the US. I'm also using Farrow & Ball in the restoration of my house here in the south of France. Bonne chance with your choices.
Am so glad the blue shutters will be green. It looks fabulous. It seems like so many chateau’s have blue shutters and it shouts out so you notice nothing else. Going back to the historical colors is the way to go for sure. It will be beautiful.
The color for the shutters is perfect!! For all the right reasons, being more subtle and where is blends in with the hues of the stone And nature!! Much less of a distraction to the architectural elements in comparison to the existing blue!! Bravo!!
The green is very soothing to look at. At first I was sad about loosing the french blue, but the green is really nice. Love that you are taking your choices seriously.
Each morning I pour myself a cup of coffee and settle into the couch to see what the lovely smart and immensely talented ladies (and gent) of the chateau are up to! Yes, I said EVERY morning. I am not above watching episodes over and over again. You are my comfort TV. You help me ready for another dreary day of the corporate world. I was so happy to see that today was all about couleur! I cannot wait to see your final selections. I love your attention to detail and thoughtfulness as you zhuzh up the chateau. I have to admit I was hesitant with the Viti Green recommendation but I am starting to embrace it. ❤ I am also purchasing the candle that smells like Versailles. I have heard it mentioned in other vlogs and I must check it out. I feel deeply that smells are important memory makers and set the tone of almost every emotion.
I totaly understand , there have been certain movies , music, books, stores and, yes even, YoutTube videos ,that hit that spot that inspires every time,. I have felt a sense of recognition and connection with some thing deep inside. It truly touches our hart that these videos bring you the solace and inspiration we have felt. Much love from Puy Vidal Maruca
So glad you let Samantha show you what works best for the exterior shutter etc colors. The Vitty green gives the chateau exterior a subdued elegance which I think is very hard to find now-a-days. Samantha knows her stuff. Have you thought of cleaning up some of the exterior bricks which have what looks like black soot on them? Really enjoyed that trip to Paris to the L'Hotel de la Marine. It was jaw dropping. Thank you for sharing.💜 : )
What a fabulous vlog. Great filming and update from you all. The future plans so exciting and the colour selections stunning. Thanks again for sharing.
Vous êtes toutes si adorables ! la décoration sera magnifique je n'en doute absolument pas. C'est un travail sur le long terme mais tellement excitant, tellement intéressant émotionnellement. C'est l'aventure de votre vie alors colorez la selon vos goûts.
I so love this family, as a viewer of this channel, they are so real, loving, artistic, caring, and appreciate how they share their chateau and France experience. Muchas gracias de verdad.
The colour choice you chose is excellent for the windows and shutters. It’s an accent colour that brings out the château at first glance instead of having the windows and shutters pop up at you at first glance. It’s nice to have a colour consultant as experienced as her but it’s very important you choose what you love. I love the soft colours of Bridgerton decor, or Marie Antoinette movie. Excellent choices to reference from. Enjoy the process it’s not about the getting there it’s about the journey, so don’t stress out.💝 Enjoy your new season of upcoming workshops. It’s lovely to hear that you continue your connections with the life you had in the US. Thank you for allowing us to meet your family and friends. Lots of love and successful ventures from Vancouver.🇨🇦
Blue is so much better for sure!! The green is lost in the stonework. I took French 3 with my sister who was doing high level Spanish at the same time. Anytime she was under pressure during class she’d always answer in Spanish. It’s great to know multiple languages.
Absolutely love this colour , the vitty green is gorgeous , as if it was made for your chateau all those centuries ago... everything else will just come to live with this colour in the background ... beautiful choice
I alway hate to see these videos end! And this was no exception. So delightful to watch you going through the color process. I’d be so confused after six hours at Farrow and Ball-sound like you have a superb consultant there with Samantha. Love that you involved everyone in the household in the video AND introduced your long-time friends/ houseguests. Best wishes as you move into the season!!
I love the new color of the shutters, doors & windows against the stone. It does bring attention to the Chateau and not the windows & doors. Just beautiful ❤
Hi all. You have already created beautiful spaces/rooms but, having a color consultant will help save time and take the decision-making pressure off your shoulders. It will all look stunning and i can't wait to see it when its all completed. I loved listening to your mom talking about family friends and Carolina's parents, she has such a sweet and kind heart....you all do! I'm looking forward to next weeks video and am so happy that Carolina will have her parents with her. They must be very proud of her! ❤Zeljka
Choosing wallpapers and paint colours can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time. To have an expert helping you to have a bigger picture and a plan that brings everything together is a wise decision and money well spent. Looking forward to see how renovation continues. Good luck for the coming season!
I love your vlogs! We are in awe of your beautiful chateau and grounds - I couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to call your home. Can hardly wait for your next one!
Respectfully, I ‘ve always gravitated toward the blue-grey color as very emblematic of French style. It is both a calming and elegant color. I enjoy your channel , and am sure you’ll find the best colors for your chateau.
The planned shutter color is perfect and will blend well with the stone color, good choice! All your hard work inside is paying off, you have such good taste and your design vision is elegant and well planned out, looks magnificent.💖✨
Love what you are doing to the chateau. Lovely colors and your trip to Paris looked to be successful and wonderful. Love how your mom had her friends visit. xx
What a perfect way to start my Sun, now I can spend my day dreaming of France. I absolutely love following you ladies (dad too)! Your delivery of all that you do is beautifully done. I wasn't sure at first of the color for the exterior. It didnt feel warm or give a pop, to matchy. But once it dried and moved out to the sun I felt it. The calm and inviting, and the beauty of the pots and flowers and greenery. You have lots of big decisions to make but from the looks of what you've already done at the Chateau the rest will come together beautifully. 🦋
Hello Ladies ! Both colours are great, blue and green. Aesthetically, they suit well. However, the olive green is so associated with Provence nowadays that it looks a bit strange at Puy Vidal. The visit at the Hôtel de la Marine was great. I hope you enjoyed the tour 🙂 Have a good day !
The vitty green is perfect. Fresh and yet not in your face. The blue is so bold and distracting. I do hope you ‘go for it’. I think the transformation will be stunning.
I’m really impressed with your colorist Samantha’s direction, of a cohesive palette throughout the Chateau. I love the neutral doors. It turns your eye toward the architectural beauty of the Chateau and blends well with the landscape. I wrote this comment mid- video lol. Sounds close to what you said. So I guess you know you got my vote ! 😅
I love blue shatters and my dream is to have a house with some but I think you are absolutely right that your blue is taking attention away from the house and the green ones enhancing it’s beauty without screaming at you. Well done choosing that color :)
Love the green you have chosen for the shutters. It also works beautifully framing the stained glass window your mom was standing in front of. Exciting times and looking forward to your choiced.
The introvert table made me laugh out loud 😂 I made large wooden panels with different wallpaper and put them against the walls. Took me a couple of months to decide what I wanted. And then months to decide what colour woodtones. I still painted over some parts. Take your time, nothing is lost with painting it again 😉 Are you sure you are allowed to change the shutter colour? It isn't allowed here to change the outside of a monument. Ooooh, big wedding? I love how every person at the chateau got a little part of this video. Perfect idea.
Absolutely stunning choices from Farrow and Ball! Just exquisite quality and design! How great to be able to work your entire interior renovation with such a talented consultant! The color for the shutters is just perfect.......well done all! Cheers!
Well I believe it is safe to say, you can toss out the PINTEREST boards! This will be perfect all the way around. F&B expert will be the magnifent moments for the future renovation. Her suggestion for viewing the hotel was spot on! It was absolutely beautiful. Surprisingly, I loved the bold green & all white curtains, & everything else. One idea I had, was maybe take inventory of all your current patterns, see what resembles the new choices. You could maybe use a solid fabric color, then trim the bottom or sides with what you currently have (companion fabrics) could also assist in upcoming choices. Come on peeps, 31K views, means more than 5K are not subscribed! Maybe sand, prep & paint 1 shutter set first, then evaluate the color. Fabulous video!
Love the Vitty Green! Not only would it look wonderful on the shutters/doors (currently blue) outside, it would make a wonderful neutral transition to the inside rooms as well. Great vlog! Than you.
Oh how I wish I could see a video every week from yall because this is my favorite channel on utube and I believe this channel would reach 100,000 plus in no time if u did! I'm from the state of Tennessee and love seeing a family do what u have done!!! ❤😊
I am a retired interior designer and whilst we don't have chateaus in australia, they method in which you go about creating a room are basically the same. The colour consultant and yourselves picked out some beautiful pallets and wallpapers in very soft muted tones tones but my one observation was that all the surfaces appeared to be quiet flat. Before deciding make sure that you can find fabrics, soft furnishings etc to lift these pallets through texture and pattern and no I am not saying you need pops of colour, quiet the opposite. I very much like your style as I always liked using muted tones but balanced them with stripes, brocades , linen or damask fabrics., mixing up fabrics etc. What an exciting time for you all and I must say I am most jealous and almost wish i was not retired x
Wow - how the green shutters make you take notice of the greenery! And green on mama? WOWZA! It’s such a lovely color for her. Thanks for sharing your journey 💕
Just finished watching this vlog for the second time. Really enjoyed it. It sounds like you will be doing a beautiful redo of an already beautiful chateau. I love the vitty green. It's lovely. Thanks for your post!♥️♥️♥️😘
The blue shutter colour is a traditional colour for that part of France. A dye that occurs naturally there so it’s very appropriate for your chateau rather than the green grey.
I am a big fan of Farrow and Ball paint. The green for the shutters couldn’t be more perfect. Excited for you that you will have 6 groups this year. Looking forward to seeing the decorating of rooms progress. Really lovely to hear your Mom enjoying dear friends for a visit. ❤
At first I said no to the green as I liked the blue shutters, but the green is more subtle and calmer. In some places in France, they have to stay with the color that is allowed. I think the green is awesome. I am so happy Maruca had friends and family visits. Wow, it was lucky the men didn't break the oil pipe. Did I hear wedding? I love me a beautiful wedding. The grounds look amazing. The color palate you picked out looks wonderful. It will look so beautiful when you do it. Cheers to you all.❤
Your color Specialist is very knowledgable and interestingly spot on with the shutter color Vitty Green!!!. I did not see it at first, but I see it now. Best of luck with the new season!!! And a future Wedding???
Sorry to disappoint ladies 65 years as a designer and a lover of colour. This is a colour that challenges my belief….why would you choose this tone it is clever but not uplifting the stone is beautiful and the colour is a tone not found in nature.
Love love love the Vitty Green...much more elegant than the blue shutters. I'm imagining interior rooms with the Vitty Green and soft greyed-pinks...and gentle parchment colors. There aren't many more complimentary color pairs than green and pink (as long as they are gentle, greyed greens and pinks). Bravo!
Hello, ladies of the Chateau. I just want to tell you that I just love the idea of the small table for the introvert who want to be seated, but not overwhelmed with tons of people around the table. L, o, l, this is so great. The table suits its purpose. It's to sit and possibly just have coffee. No worries. Good job, ladies. I love love your channel. Watching from Northern California well the City by the Bay.❤❤❤❤❤🌉🌁✨️✌🏽🎊🎊
Love the Vitty Green.... GREAT choice! That color classes the exterior up.... nothing against French Grays; I love those too, but agree that the green makes the greenery of the plants pop.
Absolutely love the vitty green. Its pleasing to the eyes and it does give attention to other details on the exterior of the chateau. The color flows better.
How fabulous to have a color specialist come, to spark more ideas to your already amazing esthetic. I've yet to see any thing that you and your mom "decorate " that is nothing but beautiful. I absolutely love the Vitte color choice for the shutters and French doors. While I understand the blue is somewhat traditional, I never cared for it. Interesting though, that the color specialist wears all black...😊
I was team blue pop until you put the Vitty green up against the walls of the château, and then I saw what you saw. The way it compliments the nuances of the wall colors, and allows the plants to shine, it is a really good choice, that Samantha knows what she's doing! Thank you for another wonderful video.

With all the colors available Samantha was able to pick the perfect color to highlight the beautiful chateau stone. Vitty green for the win.
j'ai adoré ce vlog et je vous suis depuis le début .Vous m'avez mis l'eau à la bouche avec tout vos projets ,à très vite...
The green for the shutters is beautiful and as you said complements the stone of the Chateau.Watching the other room renovations will be exciting to see come to life.
Yes I remember putting that show on for my kids

Offering an opinion on colour isn’t “hating” no need to be dramatic and following the fashion to comment on “hating”
Although I really like green colors,I adore the blue shutters. The pop of colour is so interesting and fun. Not everything has to blend in. 🥰

You said it very well. The green speaks were the blue shouts. Can't wait to see it all.
I so love this family, as a viewer of this channel, they are so real, loving, artistic, caring, and appreciate how they share their chateau and France experience. Muchas gracias de verdad.
Oh my goodness! Big Comfy Couch was my daughter’s favourite show when she was little.
The colour choice you chose is excellent for the windows and shutters. The gray green is so chic!!! The perfect choice!
Blue is so much better for sure!! The green is lost in the stonework. I took French 3 with my sister who was doing high level Spanish at the same time. Anytime she was under pressure during class she’d always answer in Spanish. It’s great to know multiple languages.

Oh I hated for this to come to an end -- beautiful place and people and beautiful editing. So much food and beauty for thought!
Loving the green color! It doesn’t compete with the surrounding spaces. It only enhances the natural beauty of the chateau. Great job ladies!
The new shutter colour is subtle and blends in so beautifully. Love all those wallpaper samples
Hi all. You have already created beautiful spaces/rooms but, having a color consultant will help save time and take the decision-making pressure off your shoulders. Agree the paler shutters are more sophisticated. Best wishes for a very successful season! 🥰
Choosing wallpapers and paint colours can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time. The green is perfect! It doesn't jar the senses. It's calming to the eye.
So wonderful that you are working with the professionals for your chateau !!!
That wallpaper motif is gorgeous.
I really like the blue shutters, I think they’re beautiful! 🌸
I 100% agree. The blue is soft and makes the windows pop from a distance.
Absolutely love the green. Subtle and classic.
Respectfully, I ‘ve always gravitated toward the blue-grey color as very emblematic of French style. It is both a calming and elegant color. I enjoy your channel , and am sure you’ll find the best colors for your chateau.
It makes me so happy when you post a video. It’s exciting to watch your journey, thank you so much for sharing it!
All of your videos are such a delight.
The planned shutter color is perfect and will blend well with the stone color, good choice! All your hard work inside is paying off, you have such good taste and your design vision is elegant and well planned out, looks magnificent.💖✨
I really like the soft green color better than the blue. It's very classy.❤
Love what you are doing to the chateau. Lovely colors and your trip to Paris looked to be successful and wonderful. Love how your mom had her friends visit. xx
Lovely to see the vision that you have for the Chateau, your home!
What a perfect way to start my Sun, now I can spend my day dreaming of France.

Agreed with everything you said about that new color. ❤❤❤. I cannot wait to see it all painted now!! Great choice!!
Love your vlogs. Hope your six workshops go fantastically. You certainly put enough effort into them to get that result. Best wishes.

I am a big fan of Farrow and Ball paint. The green for the shutters couldn’t be more perfect. Excited for you that you will have 6 groups this year. Looking forward to seeing the decorating of rooms progress. Really lovely to hear your Mom enjoying dear friends for a visit. ❤
The new shutter colour shows off the stone beautifully!
Wow! The shutter color is perfect, for all the reasons you mentioned.
The wallpapers are stunning ❤
Keep the blue, the green looks like it just disappears with the stone. The tone with the blue is more whimsical ❤
Cheers to you all.❤
You are so smart getting expert advice to help you with the paint colors💫
Fabulous episode , I love the color of the shutters you just picked out
Beautiful video and all the beautiful colours and tapestries 🥰🥰
Your color Specialist is very knowledgable and interestingly spot on with the shutter color Vitty Green!!!. I did not see it at first, but I see it now. Best of luck with the new season!!! And a future Wedding???
That was a heartwarming story that your mother told about her friends, the lifelong ones and the new ones❤
The new shuttle color is brilliant pick. Yes great selection.
Sorry to disappoint ladies
65 years as a designer and a lover of colour. This is a colour that challenges my belief….why would you choose this tone it is clever but not uplifting
the stone is beautiful and the colour is a tone not found in nature.
Ok, I agree the green is the one😊. Thank you for yet another dare I say...classy....video
Bravo!
I loved the new color for the facade.
thank you for your wonderful videos including your well-spoken voices...
The vitty green will make the flow so clean and esthetically very pleasing to the eye. Love it 😍
Fresh and modern yet respecting the 18th century vibe. Lovely!!!
The Vitty Green definitely goes better with the stone and the surroundings. ❤
I always enjoy when I see a new video. Just a gal in central California, dreaming of France!
The introduction gets me every time. It’s so beautifully done.

Loved seeing Clara❤
I so enjoy your chateau and content. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing your world with us. I enjoy the video content you create. Have a great rest of your weekend. Best regards.
Thank you! You too!
