I never thought I would say this, but I now have a replacement "Christmas" jazz song that's taken the place of Christmas for Moderns. This is THAT good.
Been checking everyday for a new video of yours this was an absolute thrill to see in my notifications, thanks a lot keep up the good work and great trumpet playing
I think this is the only video that the bass player smiles in. Every other video I have seen of Louis Dowdeswell and his group (which are all amazing!!!), the bass player is constantly stone faced haha.
I love your sound, you truly are an inspiration to me and many trumpet players out there. Your sound is just like Wayne’s with a bit of your own spice, I love it!
Very professional sound guys! Very tasteful arrangement and spot on playing! I couldn't hear the last note though, can only hear up to double C these days! Amazing!
Louis I admired you and you came back thank you very much and keep on trumpeting on I’m also a trumpet player in 8th grade and is wondering what type of mouthpiece your using thanks and good hub!
Each mouthpiece is going to work differently for every player. Range comes in long low tones. Builds the muscles in your embouchure. Also take the time each week, 2 to 3 times, to work on your range through range exercises. It takes time if you're not born with the range. As a trumpet player, it took me years to get my range where it is and it's still not high enough for me. Gotta work at it. Keep at it, dude. You'll get there if you put the work in. Good luck!
For eighth grade, I would recommend a 5c for concert band. Vizzuti mouthpieces will give you absurd range for jazz, but some players see it as "cheating" because of how easy it is to play high notes. Never use a Vizzuti for concert band because it has a very thin sound. Keep on practicing jazz on your standard mouthpiece, which I would say a 5c should be, and then ask your conductor if he thinks you would be better of with a Vizzuti for jazz. Hope this helps!
He uses GR’s although the other month he was messing around with other various ones on a paddle steamer for the release of the new commercial yammy trumpet lol 😂 it was fun seeing him get his section to try them great player great guy
A mouthpiece will never make you a better "high note" player. Switching mouthpieces to play a certain way is nonsense. As someone else said it here and as my old friend Bill Chase and I long discussed the focus long long tones and building the chop from the bottom up, slowly and steadily is the key. The air column can NEVER be constricted . The same blow is used top to bottom but he speed of air, the aperture and the removal of direct pressure on your lips are essential. Dowdeswell could play a double C on an empty Coke can. Equipment can help. The right horn and the correct comfortable mouthpiece are essential but NO two sets of lips , interior oral construction are the same . BUT ! the same scientific approach to breathing , embouchure and a lot of tenacity will give you everything you need to be a great player.
The clown emoji by the guy clapping on 1 & 3 was the cherry on top for this video
I hope frosty doesn’t listen to this otherwise he would melt 😩👌🔥
Whoever writes this bands charts is a freakin genious. It doesnt get any better
the trombone soloist arranges all his charts!

The double D at the end makes me so happy!!!
I haven't heard one that clean since Roger Ingram on Blue Light, Red Light.
A ton of great trumpet players out there but I don't think anyone makes it look as effortless as Louis does
The fact that only 130k people have seen this masterpiece is a testament to the failures of the TH-cam recommendation algorithm...
Ive watched it about 15 times so making up for it. Killing guys!!!!
@Marc Taillefer Amateurs
It’s April and I still can’t stop watching this. I think I need help. Maybe not though.

I'm pretty sure he uses a GR Wayne Bergeron Studio
