I went to Scotland April 2023 and was not planning (foreshadowing) to buy a kilt. In Edinburgh we were walking by a kilt shop and a sign was advertising ex-hire kilts for sale. Went in and ended up buying a 7 yard wool kilt for 180 pounds. It did not have a hip strap, but the Black Watch fit me fine. The group of friends wanted me to wear it to dinner that night at Prestonfield House (I highly recommend it), so he through in socks and flashes. I felt a little naked without a sporran, but it worked out and we all had fun. So, thanks for the comments regarding the history of the hip strap. I was a little hesitant at first because of no hip strap, but now I'm glad I bought it. I love your videos and history lessons. keep up the good work!
I watched the World Pipe Band Championship after viewing your video about different ways kilts are pleated, and I couldn't think of anything but lawn chairs!
You guys crack me up! "Genetics"! Kung Fu! Nice job on the sound effects. Speaking as a guy with no hips (according to my wife) I thought the hip strap set the fit to the hips so the kilt wouldn't slide down since the top strap is up around my belly. Keep up the good work and good humour!
Here’s my question for the @USAkills people. If I have a kilt ordered from you guys but would prefer brown buckles, if I ordered those buckles and sent them to you could you add those buckles on there instead of black for me?
I'd be crucified if I put my belt through the belt loops. I was told by my grandfather and the kilt maker that the loops are for your sporran. The belt sits on top
