You do not, no matter from which part of India you are, DO NOT mention Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with a singlular name. He not only fought for Maratha but entire India. He laid the foundation for Peshwas which enabled them to expand the Maratha empire and capture the entire Indian subcontinent including Delhi itself.
Unfortunately CBSE, ICSE and some other state boards do not teach this history thoroughly, which is tragic in a sense.

"Mothi sev ki sabji" is basically a spicy gravy(rassa) with thick orange colour spicy sev in it. Maharashtrians loveeeeeee spice in their food. A must-try.

Maratha warriors shown guts to fights against outsider inveders like Mughal, Parsian, Afghan, Britishers, Portugales etc. First Navy built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in indian history. Aurangajeb died in this land but couldn't win this land.
Lots of Maharashtrians are are vegetarian because we Marathi people's are very connect to our culture and religion and our religion doesn't allows to eat living animals, but that is also true lots of Maharashtrian are non-vegetarian and specially western Maharashtra's people really like sea food like Fish & other but North, South, East & Central Maharashtrians are not like too much to eat Fish or sea food....!
