- The maximum weight of all 4x4 will be 7,500 lbs, Limited Pro Diesel 3.0 trucks will be allowed to compete with a maximum weight of 8,000 lbs. 575 cubic inches on gas/alcohol engines with a single supercharger or a single turbocharger. anyone care to explain what happened at 4:33?. What is the tonnage they are pulling.
So these Ford Powerstrokes get hot. And the fire fighters wanted to put a harsh extinguisher on it. The ones track side aren't as harsh. The cleanup is a mess. It gets everywhere. So when the driver saw the big tank he waived it off.

As they travel down the track the weight box Thing moving moves forward and this puts more weight onto what is known as the skidpan. This increases the weight resistance which makes it harder to pull. Longest distance pulled wins.

@@scrambler69-xk3kv There are bars underneath the pan called grouser bars and they dig in the dirt as well. They want an easy transition but pullers will tell you it hits you like a hammer. So momentum is the key.
That binder edition truck has a ih dt engine in it not sure of cubes but I do know it is in fact not a Cummins.
That’s for sure, listen to it. Sounds completely different. Too bad he couldn’t run it in the SS truck class

Getting hot. They spin a lot of RPMs and have a ton of torque and diesel a lot of blow off. About 4000HP. Some times down to about 2200HP.

anyone care to explain what happened at 4:33?
Power strokes get hot up front from what it was explained to me by Jesse Warren. It is more visible. The parts that are hot are sensitive and the extinguisher the fire staff was using adds an extra level of debris that requires more work to clean and get rid of to get the truck track worthy for the next time out. It is a more harm than good situation. Those parts that are on fire, are easily replaceable.
There was no fire. The exhaust manifolds feeding turbo's bigger than children get hot and glow. Its normal. When you spray an extinguisher on the glowing manifolds it can cause them to crack.
Why did the drive not want the guy to use a fire extinguisher? 4:30
They were trying to spray his red hot exhaust which would have cracked/broken it. The guy didn't want to buy a new exhaust manifold is all!
A big issue that all of these trucks have is that they shoot the dirt straight into the trailer... if they had somthint to push the mud out it wouldn't pile up to a point where it stops as fast

This is a competition where people pull for points. They also get paid based on how well they do. This also raises funds for local firefighters, emergency medical needs, water tankers, pulling is a fund raising machine.
