And yet the most depressing thing in my life is that 2 people have disliked this song.

A large portion of his work revolves around growing up and then living as an adult with severe chronic depression. Most of the songs he's written about drugs are referring to the legal kinds that regulate such imbalances. This song in particular seems to be coming from a place of being medicated and pleading for someone close to him to not leave him based solely on how he behaved before he got help; and also to thank those who supported him and got him to this point, even when he made it difficult for them.
