hi danny ,hatur nuhun elmuna. mangpaat pisun!

Do you have a video showing how to edit from a to z with dji d log?
Im new with dji drone and davinci
Im new to davinci and I have no idea about all the color stuff lol, well done
Nodes still confuse the F%$K our]t of me. 😂
Hi Danny,
for me as a DJI mini 3 pro user it would be very interesting to see you do a grade d-cinelike footage as there is no cst profile for that which makes me struggle with it every time.
Thank you very much!
Feel free to send me some footage to have a look!

Thank you for sharing this. The fake sunset part is amazing! Could you please make a DJI HLG color grading tutorial ? (and please show what your project setting about color space is )
Good question, I realised I left out my color management settings. I've set my timeline: Davinci Wide Gamut and Output: REC709A because I'm grading on a Mac
@@DannyGan Thanks a lot😄
it sucks that temporal threshold under motion effects for the noise reduction is locked behind the paywall lol. extremely helpful video anyways.
Hey, would it be the same process for DLog-M on Mini 4 pro?
How can I delete points in curves on iPad. I am not using a keyboard or mouse. Just the pen
Hey danny, are you more into Vibrant Grading or it depends? Your grading aesthetic is very similar to mines because I'm more into vibrant colors mixed with that Kodak Film look. Feels refreshing having to watch the way you grade!
yes I do like sharp rich colours in my grades, more western looks
So does that Color Space Transform essentially replace having to use a LUT? That is confusing to me kind of still newer to Resolve.
Yes, there are 3 ways you can do colour management.
1. LUT
2. Color Space Transform
3. DaVinci Color Managed
Each has their own pros and cons
@@DannyGan hmmm so u wouldn't use both a LUT and Color Transform for example though?
Hey Danny, how do I choose which Output Gamma to use? If I'm using the macbook, isn't the rec.709-A the best?
Yes, you can do it on the node level or the project level which I have
Great tutorial thanks. One question; Does all D-Log footage from different DJI devices behave the same? I have the Action 4, so I take it if I follow your instructions this will apply to the footage as it is all D-Log? I ask, as I downloaded the DJI standard Rec709 conversion LUT and it is SO saturated and contrast heavy I wanted to make my own.
There is D-Log and D-LogM, you can also use teh appropriate LUT for your device.
@@DannyGan great and thank you !
how can i downlead the footage so i can do the tutorial step by step. when i try to download its not video its timecode something that i don't understood
Click on the 3 dots on your top right
Hello Danny, I followed the professional LUTs and settings you provided. However, the colors in my DJI Pocket 2 videos are turning excessively blue. It's challenging to adjust this strong blue tint. The videos were shot against the sun with a lot of blue tones, but the issue is not as severe when I use the color space transform node in the settings. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on how to address this color imbalance effectively? Kind regards Eric
Sorry I'm not very clear about your issue, please simplify it slightly.
Why does my footage look nothing like this? its all grey when I apply the gamma 2.4
It should look the same with the settings applied in the video, so far no issue with that
Does this work with D-Log M as well?
Good question
how would i apply luts to my dlog footage?
just double click the lut while selecting a node
Hey will this work with thr dji osmo pocket 3?
If the colour profile is the same, it should work
Call me crazy but I believe the Mavic 2 Pro uses D-LOG-M not full D-LOG. This means thete is no appropriate gamma available in the Color Space Transform module in Resolve.
I don’t think so, I have drones with both profiles and the M2Pro definitely shoots in DJI D-LOG
I get a 'Media Offline' issue when I upload my D-Log footage. Any tips? (I've searched and seen a lot of fixes on YT, but no joy so far)
Try reopening Resolve, it does happen sometimes. If that's not the case, then maybe your files has been corrupted.
If you have recorded in h264 then you will need the studio version or that is the problem
다빈치리졸브에서 Dji D-Gamut과 DJI D-Log를 언제부터 지원했는지 혹시 아시나요?
아니 언제인지 잘 모르겠어
@@DannyGan 답변해주셔서 감사합니다.
Are these steps the same for wanting to color grade d log m footage from Osmo pocket 3?
I think d log m is not a proper log profile, it's more of a low-contrast rec709
Can you make a video on it?
Would also love a video grading pocket 3 d-log m footage!
Does it work with the free version of davinci?
Mostly, yes.
Do you know why when I add the CST on my D-Log M footage, it becomes over exposed and extremely over saturated?
Because D-Log M is not actual Log. It’s just Rec.709. Try getting the manufacturer’s LUT from their website for colour management 😊
@@DannyGan Thanks for the response! I will give that shot, i am new to this so i might be doing something wrong as well. Your video was amazing btw
Do we need a paid DaVinci Resolve version for this?
For the effect, no. For it to read 10-bit footage, yes.
Your noise reduction should come first....also you should have 2 CST's one at the very front that is dlog to davinci wide gamut/davinci intermediate and another CST at the end that is DWG/Davinci intermediate to rec 709 gamma 2.4
And you do all your grading in the middle of these....this allows you to work in the davinci color space which is much wider
Thanks for your input, some of what you commented is somewhat true.
1. Noise reduction should only be in the front if you find it advantageous to render cache. I've tested the outcome for front and back, putting it at the back seems more non-destructive. Watch my tests here th-cam.com/video/8lrNSbnJVek/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cxF-vh6Y6o0B-i3y
2. You don't HAVE to use DWG all the time. This is a video more for beginners, so I don't see the need to jump into DWG. And DWG is not used because "it is a wider colour space". That is one of the characteriestics of DWG, not the end use of it. Because it is a wider colour space, it can cointain all other log colour spaces. But the main purpose of DWG is to apply the same adjustments to footage from multiple camera log profiles more conveniently by working in DWG.
@DannyGan ok I guess that makes sense....I've just become so accustomed to working in DWG, but I guess it isn't really a law that has to be followed
No worries man! Everyone has their own workflow, just make sure that you workflow is right for your needs 🙌🏻
Whats the difference between DJI D-Log and DJI DLogM ?
The colors in D-log is much flatter than D-log M. D-log has more dynamic range than D-log M but it takes time and effort to color grade it than D-log M, it is also use by professional editors. Since D-log M is not that flatter which makes it good for beginners to color grade it. The third after D-log M is the D-Cinelike which is less flatter than D-log M. I prefer the D-Cinelike since it retains more color which makes it easier to color grade and it looks more vivid ans dreamy yet still looking realistic.
D Log M simpler to grade like they saying and if you don’t know how to you can make footage worse or unusable even play with both and see for yourself too.
