  • The Robonauts Everybot is an affordable, competitive, and elegant robot that can be built with only basic tools and items found in either the kit of parts, purchased from your local hardware store, or online from various FRC retailers. The goal of the initiative is to provide a more accessible avenue for students to have a positive FRC experience regardless of their unique circumstances or practical limitations. We continue to make iterations to our program to maximize positive impact and achieve our mission statement: “…to improve FRC students’ experience by enabling any team to field an inexpensive robot capable of contributing to any alliance and qualifying for the FIRST Championship."
    In the 2022 season, over 200 teams built off of the Robonauts Everybot concept. We are hard at work developing the 2023 Everybot and look forward to sharing it with the community.
    Based on our analysis of CHARGED UP, we have created a short list of robot capabilities that accomplish the goals of our mission statement.
    The 2023 Robonauts Everybot Will:
    In the Autonomous Period:
    Score a pre-loaded game piece
    Score Mobility points
    Dock on and Engage the Charge Station
    In the Teleoperated Period:
    Score Cubes in the Bottom, Middle Row, and Top Rows
    Score Cones in the Bottom, Middle Row, and Top Rows
    Acquire Cubes and Cones from the Substations
    Play line-style defense in front of the opponents’ loading zone while fully within its frame perimeter
    In the Endgame:
    Dock on and Engage the Charge Station
    Be narrow enough to allow room for two other robots on the Charge Station
    For an additional resource you can join the Everybot Community Discord where you can make friends with other teams building Everybots, ask for help, and share your progress.

    Hats off to the Everybot team. This is going to be a highly competitive robot. I could see this as an alliance captain at a district, especially with some basic upgrades and drive practice.

      @@jaycrisp536 172 did pretty well last year with an upgraded Everybot, and honestly that was not a great game for this sort of simple design.

      @@patrickmattin9609 I don't doubt that it could be a great first pick, but I would be a little concerned about it being unable to pick up game pieces from the ground. Having to go all the way across the field through what will probably be lots of defense just to grab another game piece will be quite time consuming compared to other robots that would be able to pick up game pieces close by to their community or even potentially in the opposing alliance's loading zone.

      @@talosisoursavior3061 Within the resource budget it makes sense to omit a ground intake, but yeah that's probably the first thing I would add with additional time and budget. Teams not running an Everybot should definitely consider that weakness and look to take opposing game pieces for themselves.

      The polycarbonate intake plates will be available for purchase from AndyMark, WestCoast Products, and potentially other FRC suppliers. Alternatively, many teams will be willing to cut you a set on their router.

      @@ethanreed4517 Hell we couldn't even drill 3 holes all in the right places on one part to bolt something together. The holes never aligned right. So that might not be the limiting factor here...

    if anything this proves that this year's game showcases how simple designs can be both effective and productive at the same time. doesn't have to be 1323 2022 levels of fancy or 71 2002, it just has to get the job done

      What resources did you use to grasph it? I tried importing it to my software, but there aren't mate connectors in the CAD file, so I can't visualize it

    • @yahligilboa7489
      @yahligilboa7489 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshuayang2369 when it came out i just watched the video a couple of times and then it kinda clicked, ive had experience from looking at other mechanisms so it becomes like second nature when trying to figure out a new one. the cad file will probably help but not getting the intuition for the mechanism itself becasue you cant view the defining sketches so you cant really grasp the though proccess behind the design.
      what helped me is to figure out why some components were placed: such as the polycarbonate plate on the arm or the string that is used to get the arm to a certain angle at the end of its range of motion
      and figuring out what was the intended movement of the mechanism.
      I hope this helps

    How does it pick up from the ground?

    • @TransbayTuber
      @TransbayTuber ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It doesn't. However, you don't really need to pick up from ground since there is always the substation, and then you'd be leaving ground pieces for potential alliance partners to grab. (that's the way I see it.)
