    Buying an S9 and putting the screen resolution on FHD+ is like buying a car with leather seats and putting plastic bags over them

    • @spartan8390
      @spartan8390 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Very few things are made above 1080. Outside of some photos, a handful of videos, nothing is beyond 1080 yet. It’s coming, but we aren’t there yet. Plus it’s not really noticeable outside a tv or laptop. Even with that, frame rates come into play. 1080 at 30fps looks like trash on anything outside of a phone. 1080 at 120fps is like looking out a window on anything. A great example of 1080 perfection is a documentary called “100 Days Of Solitude.” Watch that and tell me it’s not like you are there, 1080 or not.

      @@spartan8390 The difference between 1440P and 1080P is noticable to me, especially now that I am used to it. It depends on the screensize of course. But if you don't use the best feature of a phone you really should not get that phone

      @@spartan8390 I loved the 1440p 5.3 inch screen on my LG G5 it's the main thing that kept me from upgrading until the S9. Lots of other phone's screens just looked bad in terms of resolution and I never watched a video in 1080p if I had the option for 1440p to much of a difference. It's absolutely pointless to clear memory in Android. Unused memory is wasted memory. Don't clear your RAM! It does no good. Android is optimized to do it for you. Leave it alone

    • @Don.of.
      @Don.of. 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Agreed. I may go within maintnence manager to clear some apps, but other than that, I rarely clear anything

    • @Eraknelo
      @Eraknelo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      I understand what you're saying, and generally I'd agree, but if your RAM is nearly or fully full, it'll start swapping to the storage, which will in fact slow down your phone. Android is good at optimizing RAM usage, but it's not perfect. Sometimes there will be some apps you rarely use still lingering in the RAM.

    • @Don.of.
      @Don.of. 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      And thats where the built-in application called device management comes in. it scans and allows you to clear apps that are running in the background that are not needed. Similar to manual optimization. I do this and have never had an issue.

    • @SilverAura
      @SilverAura 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No it doesn't. Phones only use power when they're actually doing stuff in the background and apps are limited on what they're allowed to do when they're asleep.
      It takes no more power to keep apps in memory than it does to keep memory empty. However loading data into memory DOES use power, so when you clear your memory - which to be clear, isn't draining your battery, you're forcing apps that would have otherwise opened immediately, to now waste battery to load them back into memory.
      In short: Clearing your memory frequently will actually hurt your battery life more than help it.

  • @_miyu

    For Number 8 about the SD card, you dont have to use a samsung brand card. But you need to make sure you have a "class 10" rated card. He said, blah blah "check that you dont get fakes" but he said nothing about the class. Class 10 are the speed rating and any brand that offers the correct speed is good enough. So for revision, Check that you get a Class 10 rated card, brand doesnt have any effect.

    Samsung thought of all the tiny things they would have to cut down on when they implemented these different features and decided that it was well worth it to do so. Turning off all these new and cool features you won't get on any other phone isn't exactly what I paid $800 for, even if it means that I'd have to deal with truly miniscule performance downgrade. Personally, I think Samsung knows what they're doing, and they put enough power and shit into their industry-leading phones that I think that your S9 will still be faster and cooler than 99% of the phones out there.
    TL;DR: "Beast Mode" more like "Least Mode."

    A NOTE here for the tip at 1:00... I normally disable all three scales, but If using Edge-Lighting notification (via phone or 3rd. party apps) be sure NOT TO DISABLE ''Animation Duration Scale'. Disabling it will also disable edge-lighting. Keep it on .5x instead. I learnt that by trial-and-error. :-)

    What's the point in having an 800$ octa-core device if you run it on the most minimal settings possible?

    • @soundgardener4940
      @soundgardener4940 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      (1) _'Most minimal settings possible'_ is an awkward say of saying _'minimal options enabled.'_
      (2) Following all of the recommendations in the video would not result in anything close to a 'most minimal' configuration.
      (3) User-configurable settings / options enable users to tailor the phone based on their individual use case(s), preferences, and so on: security, privacy, UI/accessibility, hardware settings, and on and on.
      (4) OEM bloat has been an endemic problem in end-user computing since well before the turn of the century; smartphones are no exception to the rule, and Samsung has long had a reputation for needlessly / questionably degrading hardware performance with their customized UI.
      (5) What's the point in having a powerful mobile device if (a) you're too lazy to configure it to protect your privacy, and (b) it's a paperweight in your pocket because you chewed through the battery needlessly?

    What do think it means if you followed the steps to open developer mode, but there are no more options that show up?

    Doesn't this phone allow you to disable background usage of any app you want, meaning you don't have to worry about losing resources and can install whatever you want from the Play store?

      They are closer than ever that argument is becoming irrelevant. The SD845 is a beast!

      Sure it may be a beast
      But the difference in performance between the 2 is way too big this year

      Geekbench I’m sure is what your referring to those are just numbers and do not indicate real world use. Also people seem to forget the SD845 can handle games better.

    All these are are tips for saving battery, which your phone does automatically if you have the right settings and power saver -.-. Theres no point in this video, as it isn't activating beast mode, and the s9 already has a setting to actually activate beast mode. The only mode activated is clickbait mode.

    Do you lose the manufacturer's warranty if you hit developer options and change things? I just want to make sure that i cn still return the phone if there is a fault. I am in the UK so not sure if things are any different in the US. Thanks for the vid :-)

    • @daddymizu6008
      @daddymizu6008 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Activating developer option doesn't voids warranty and changed nothing at all so long you don't accidentally play with those options that you aren't familiar with.
      It's not accessible for a reason in the first place.
      I would suggest u do set the 0.5x animation scale and just leave it as.
